    go hear this

So...was it a close race? Who won?
  2. Will I get major chasis flex if I don't use a rollbar for a while? My frame and the rest of the car is rust free. I am going be running between 300 and 350 HP.
  3. Have you ever slowly reved the engine up right after you started it? Did it ever knock at all while it had oil pressure?
  4. It's gonna have a 300HP+ engine in it. Would like to have enough traction. Do the 225/60 fit well with the stock suspension?
  5. It's good to live in the U.S.A.
  6. OK guys, I need your input once again. I am trying to choose the right wheel and tire sizes for my car. I have found some rims from Summit Racing. I need to know what size tires I can fit on them if I am using the stock suspension. (I'll have to wait for coilovers later) They are the Trigon(802) wheels. If I use the 15X8 what backspacing do I use? or... If I use the 16X8 what backspacing do I use? Then what size tire is the largest I can fit under the stock suspension. I was thinking a 235/60 for the 15x8 combo in the rear. And, 215/60 for the front. If I use the 16X8 can I fit 235/60 in the back and 225/60 in the front? Any suggestions on these sizes? I want to order the tires while they are on sale at the Tire Rack. Thanks guys, I really need your help! Jason
  7. The Z car "ugly"?!?!?! ...who would say such a thing?
  8. I am wanting to buy a cowl hood and some other fiberglass parts.
  9. I am wanting to purchase some body mods for my car as well. I have a 1971 240Z that I am doing a restoration/modify thing to. I want some sort of cowl hood, front air damn, and rear wing combo. If you are looking into buying the AZ Z car molds...do so! I liked some of their stuff. I would most likely purchase something from you if you did. That is, if it was at a good price. If you can beat MSA. I think they are kinda pricey for what you get.
  10. I'll be running about 300HP or so. Yes, I'll be using the 289 Ford small block. It will have a carb on it...no fuel injection. Can I just get rid of all the tubes and that plastic tank? My gas tank has been out of the car for almost 2 years and is completely empty of fuel. I washed it out with soap and water and dried it out with my air compressor. I should be safe... I hope! I need to know if I get rid of all those hoses and what not, if I can then just put in a roll over vent valve. Like the ones in full cells. Would that work? The fuel tank does need to be vented doesn't it? Or can I just plug up everything? Wouldn't that cause problems with the fuel being able to leave the tank...after the vacume built up? Thanks! Jason
  11. I need a way to to modify my gas tank for my V8 Z. First thing I need to know is...all the vent pulmbing and over flow tank stuff, can it be thrown away? I am not even sure I have all the pieces to it. Can I then just put in a roll over vent valve on the top of the gas tank? Like the ones used on a fuel cell? Second thing is... if I need a larger fuel line opening, can I just drill out the old fuel line fitting and JB weld in a larger one. Also, I don't really need a fuel return line, I do? Thanks guys! Jason Winkfield
  12. So are these cages and bars any good? I was thinking on maybe the 8 point. Jason
  13. I would be willing to help out a member in need if they had car trouble or something in my area. I may not be able to offer much, but whatever I can do to help is better than nothing, right? Jason W.

    big race

We are still talking about racing right?
  15. Thanks again guys. All of this is some good info. Jason
  16. My local tire store told me they don't make the Saber in 15 x 8 in the 4 bolt pattern. Maybe they just didn't want to bother looking them up. I thought VR Enignering sold some wheels like that and they were 15 x 8. But they are closed. So if I call up Summit what do I tell them? What backspacing would work? Right now my suspension is stock but I might go with coilovers soon. I want a good meaty tire up under there. Also, what is the bolt pattern? 4 and...4.5??? Should I use the same backspacing in the front and back? Thanks again guys! I really want those Sabers!
  17. Hey guys! I need help finding wheels that will fit my car. I have a 1971 240Z. I want a 15 inch rim or bigger. Currently I have the stock suspension, but I am thinking of putting on coilovers. Can you guys give me some wheel and tire size combos? Any ideas and or pics would be great. Let me know what you guys are running. Thanks! I found some Ceterline Sabers in 15 by 7 inch rims but MSA wants around $200 each! My local tire store wanted $225 each!!! Too much for me. I don't want to have to pay any more than $150 each if at all possible. Thanks guys! Jason
  18. I am interested in your rear brake conversion and maybe your coilover set up as well. What kind of sale prices can you shoot me? You can email me if you want. jwink25@msn.com Thanks! Jason
  19. They made some C6 trans with the small block bellhousing. The 351W had some behind it. Lot stronger than the C4 in stock form. I heard that the C4 can be made pretty darned tuff and it has lighter rotating mass, which means more power to the wheels. But, I need to know if a stock 5 speed can handle 300-350 HP in a 2500 LB car. Thanks! Jason W.
  20. Off topic...drunkenmaster...do you like Jackie Chan? Just wondering because of your name. Cool guy anyway.
  21. I would rather have a 5 speed than the C6 that I have right now. I am planning on building a 300-350HP 289 for my 1971 240Z. In this light of a car with that much power can a stock 5 speed hold up? It will be a mostly street driven car, with some spirited driving every once in awhile.
  22. I am glad to hear that things are moving along at a good pace. Seems there are plenty of people waiting for this set-up. Oh! By-the-way... I got my engine cross member in yesterday. It looks great! Thanks AL! My small block Ford powered Z is on it's way.
