Great looking car. To bad Ford didn't make it. I think it would have been a hit. I am just glad Ford is going to make that new GT-40. Am I correct on this??? Last I heard they were. The GT-40 or now I guess just called the Ford GT is one hell of a car. It's about the best looking car I have ever seen...IMO.

Got another question, What do you do for the gas gauge sending unit? You gotta now how much fuel you got right?
-
Dan, you mean several small holes like in the above pic? That's kinda what I was thinking of. Also Dan, what size tires are you running on your car? They look nice and wide. One more question...what size fittings would be good for someone running a 280ZXT engine thats putting out about 300 HP? Thanks. Brad, I would be interested in getting one soon. Right now I got other things I am saving up for. But soon I'll need to get a sump. Is it hard to weld to the gas tank? I guess you just need to go slow to not warp thin metal on the gas tank?
-
Is that on a stock fuel tank? Looks good. Who made the sump for you? Are they for sale anywhere? I would like to try something like that.

How much is the downpipe only? Thanks.

Hello Tom, I am a member of that club! I joined this last summer at the annual picnic. That is the only time I have been able to go, to any of the get togethers. I hope to go a few more times this year. In Joplin I think I am the only person with an older Z. I kinda know a guy in Springfield that is a member...his name is Brian. So you are a member too? My name is Jason Winkfield. Thanks for the reply!

It worked for me but, I had to download quicktime. Sounds kinda like a big truck with air brakes. Nice vid.

Part II Opinions wanted on turbo engine rebuild warranty!!
Jwink25 replied to a topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Hi guys, yeah I read all the posts...I just wanted to make sure. It kinda made me worry a bit. I started this turbo swap in hopes that it would be cheaper than the V8 swap I was planning. I am unfamilar with these engines. I am worried that I might make a simple mistake that could cost me my engine and lots of $$$. I have been reading tons of posts in the Turbo forum. My brain is kinda like.. This turbo swap is not working out to be really any cheaper...course I hadn't planned on the upgraded turbo and tearing down the engine to do some performance mods to it. But, I think it will be a great learing experince for me. Plus It will be great seeing the look on all the Mustangs guys faces when they get their butts kicked by a in-line 6. Muahhhh hahahahaha! Thanks, Jason -
Had to listen the BIGGEST RICER BS story today!!!!!!
Jwink25 replied to 80LS1T's topic in Non Tech Board
You sure his name wasn't John? I know a guy just like that. He is like 30 something and drives an 80s VW. He thinks he can beat my Probe GT in his POS. I laugh at the thought. He spent almost a grand on some head work and it runs worse than before...he keeps saying...wait'll get my NOS. Bring your NOS, I tell him. I haven't seen him for awhile. He is a bigtime bench/mag racer. -
Part II Opinions wanted on turbo engine rebuild warranty!!

I had some questions about this. "Hi Guys! I want to know what you think the rebuilder's responsibility is for not installing the oil filter check valve in a turbo block that came out of an auto-tranny car and was installed in a 5-spd car. The fitting for the oil cooler/filter that bolts to the block and incorporates a check valve was discarded at the time of the rebuild. So the auto-tranny block went into my 5-spd car without the ability to stop oil from draining out of the filter. Can the shop be held liable for the subsequent failure of the engine (it lasted about 23,000 miles)?" I have a turbo block out of a automatic car as well. If I replace the oilfilter adapter that bolts into the block with a aftermarket oilcooler adapter, will I be ok? I removed the factory oilfilter adapter because the oil lines were cut instead of removed. So, I was thinking of running an aftermarket oilcooler. Will I have any problems with oil draining out of the filter? Or, was this never really the problem at all? I am still new to Nissan engines...I just don't want to make simple mistake. Thanks Jason -
I was going to use the stock ones...this engine only has a maybe 80,000 miles on it..maybe less. I tore it all a part and everything looks new. I just wanted to clean the block up a bit. But they said if they bead blast it, it would have to be rehoned. Honing will not take much metal off right. So if it has no wear it should be ok to hone it a little? Right?
-
Ok, I just wanted to make sure that they were not going to screw anything up. Thanks. Jason

I have a question about my Turbo engine block. It is in preffect shape but I want to get it cleaned before I put it back together. If I get it bead blasted it will have to get rehoned. What it the angle of the cross hatch patteren? The shop where I will take it to says they put like a 30 to 40 degree angle on everything. Is this right for a Nissan engine? Thanks guys.

Those are really cool. I can find them at japanparts.com?
-
Wow...right now my Z car's top speed is...0 MPH
-
I am not sure a Z would be stable at that kind of speed. I could be wrong. Has anyone really gone that fast in an older Z car?

Do you have anything at all in writting? Saying what you have already paid? Start trying to remember the names of everyone you talked to and at what times and dates the coversations took place. If worse comes to worse and you have to sue for your car back or, get the police involved in any way, IT WILL LOOK GOOD ON YOUR PART TO HAVE ALL OF THIS INFO WRITTEN DOWN. I went through a very bad deal when getting a car painted. I took me three months to get my car back!!! They tried to screw me over in everyway. I paid them to paint my car, recover the seats, new carpet, headliner, ect. Here's what they did (short version)... 1st month: I called twice a week to see if they had started on my car. They said yes each time but, everytime I drove by it was still sitting outside untouched. 2nd month: Painted car. Upolstery work still needs to be done. The paint job was not to bad except for the HUGE runs on the right fender and the roof top! I told them to repaint the car AT THEIR COST! 3rd month: Car had been repainted...not much better than the first time. The seats that I paid to have recovered were SPARY PAINTED!!! Yup! these dumbasses didn't think that I would notice all the over spray on the floor around the "newly" recovered seats. I about punched the guy, but at the time I was only 17 years old, and he was a gaint 6 foot fat ass. I then said he would make eveything right or I would get the police involved. I had a friend that was a cop pay him a visit...afterhours...if you know what I mean. Afterwards the guy was going to pay me, to leave him alone and to take my car! I said NO! I paid for my car to have all this stuff done to it, and I was going to see it get finished! After having to remind him that I paid for new weather stripping as well, I got my car back. The whole thing took just over 3 months (he told me 2 weeks to do everything). I paid almost a grand to have everything done. This was about 10 years ago by-the-way. Afterwards I told everyone about this crapy place and I mean everyone! The place went out of business a few months later. And, I found out the guy had 13 warrents for his arrest in OK. Very bad deal. I learned a lot from that whole ordeal. I wish you the best of luck with your car. I hope everything works out. Jason

Muahh hahahahahahaha ...so cool! Be careful driving that fast. I took my Probe GT up to about 145 the first day I got her. I hope that radar didn't take a pic. Corse the photo would only have shown a big blurr.

Jwink25 replied to Jwink25's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Have you seen the prices Centerline is giving us? I would have to pay over double that if I ordered them from the local tire shop...crazy. Dirt cheap, better get'em now!
