  1. nissan 200sx. came 1.8 turbo, 2 liter, and with a vg30. dunno about reliability damn that 200sx is clean! id love to find one of those.
  2. Thankyou everyone for all your input! I started this thread in hopes of narrowing my search but I think it's expanded! I will say I've crossed a Z32 of the list. As for German cars those I doubt I will consider, my neighbor was a Mercedes mechanic for a number of years and has told me to stay away from them, he now works on Porsche race Cars at Vision Motorsports and he had a 944 that I wanted so bad but he wouldn't sell it to me Because of the cost of maintanance, I thank him now. I'm still thinking a miata or 240sx but the Subaru or eclipse does seem like an option if one can be found at the right price. Or I may just beak down and buy another Honda (vtec is just plain cool). If anyone else has any other ideas let me know.
  3. Yeah I'm really leaning to a miata because of the go kart like handeling. Aside from The slight diffrence in power what's the plus side to the 1.8?
  4. Anyone have any input previously or currently owning an eclipse GSX or Talon TSI? I like the motors they are Honda simple =)
  5. Well I live in socal and we have to many stupid drivers on the road and I drive 50 miles a day on the 5 freeway, I've seen enough fatalities to not want a motorcycle.
  6. Hahaha that's a pretty good choice but in my area most of te e36 have motors beat to sh*t, but I suppose if I look hard enough I could find one. I'll keep that in mind thanks BRAAP
  7. Well I got the 240z which is the project that's not currently running and after I get rid of my RSX-type S i hope to be done with FWD for a while. I was possibly thinking a z32, i may gave to look more into a Z31 but I have a feeling that would turn into another project car really quick.
  8. Well let me start off by saying I don't make very much money. I need a new daily driver because the payments and insurance on my RSX are rediculous, But I'm not sure what to get. I can afford something in the $3000 range, I'd like rwd, something fun, dependable, and simple to work on (as well as inrxpensive), as well as good gas milage. I've thought of a 240sx or miata. Anyone have any other suggestions?
  9. I'm originally from Winnipeg!!! But now I live in beautiful southern California and have a Z with not a spec of rust! Good luck with your project. Matt
  10. As far as the transmission bolting to the block you should have no problem what so ever. I am not sure but you may need a new drive shaft. On a side not, the 240Z's came with a 4-speed so you may already have a swapped trans.
  11. How about some Pics of your guys set ups, or any blowthrough set up for that matter!
  12. WOW 305WHP is very impresive on a blowthrough set up! I wouldnt plan on making that kind of power, just probably run on 7PSI of boost. Id love to see some videos, I bet your car sounds like a beast!
  13. I was once thinking of doing the same, my plan was to use a 4 barrel manifold with a 4 barrel holley (obviously) and a stock 280zx turbo manifold and turbo to do a carb'd blow-through setup. In my opinion this could be done for about $500 if you find some deals! One day if I've got the extra cash and time I still may try it. Sure it wouldn't have the power and tunability that an EFI turbo setup would have, buy it should make for some fun! Hope this helps at all. Matt
  14. So I'm going to assume running a 245/45/16 on a 16x8 0 offset wheel would rub like hell without spacers? If it matters my suspension is currently stock for now. I was hopping to run 245's on all 4 corners on my 240Z. Anyone running that size that can chime in?
  15. The MSA kit is good, it comes with extra parts incase you lose a stud or nut.
  16. As title says I am looking for a finned R200 diff cover. Let me know if youve got one at a good price. Thanks Matt
  17. Still available at this price? Even though my car isn't running I may have to get one. Can I just drive Down to MSA and pick it up if I mention hybridZ? I live 20 min away!!!!
  18. Where can I buY L28 flat top pistons? Ive searched all over google and havnt found any sets that specify them as flat top pistons. After my terrible luck with my 3.1L build, once i get my Z back on the road I plan to build a nice mild L28 with no luck at finding new flat top pistons. Any help or part #'s would be great. I dont want to buy something not knowing if its what Im after. thanks in advance
  19. haha but will they? I've never put in a custom a/c kit but have installed compresors, condensors, evaporators as well as oem conversions. Only the new compresors told me how much pag oil to use. and of course put in the needed amount of refridgerent and pag oil the system required (which was on a sticker somwhere in the engine bay). I guess i just need to call an a/c shop and see what they have to say.
  20. I too am interested in an rb25 swap but am debating it because of the a/c issue. I do have a common knowledge of the a/c system and repair and the only question i have is even if a custom a/c job is done how would the shop know how much refrigerent and oil to put into the system? If any a/c gurus could shed some light that may help me decide to do the rb swap or not.
  21. crack head reposted in parts for sale, see me there please Thanks for looking
  22. I have a 73 red interior. It is all sitting at the shop waiting to be covered. I also have a completed 75 brown set so I could sell the red and cover the brown. Also have clocks ac controls etc. Give me a call and we can see what else I have available in Lake Forest CA 949 378 6448 Carl
  23. I have a resurfaced flywheel and pressure plate I used for about 2k miles before parting out the car. I would be willing to sell just he flywheel or if your interested I could make you a real good deal on the clutch as well.
