  1. Looks nice, great stance! You car looks pretty low. I wish the style wheels I purchased came in 16 inch because of the tire selection
  2. I wonder what brand of tire that orange car is using. Roger, the r888 can be used for the street but it's a higher maintenance tire. I just purchased a set of Kuhmo's in 205/50 and 225/50r15, they arrive tomorrow
  3. You will need 25mm adapters, they are safer. If you do not have a source check Ebay, I see them for sale on there all the time.
  4. Thanks for the replies, but there are many people running far smaller tires on 15x8's and 9's with major stretch. I don't think my request is unrealistic. Wider wheels do look nice and I have purchased these already Many tire shops consider 9's not that wide if you can believe it or not. As for the 245's, I do have someone who can sell me a pair and I know that they are no longer available in that size. However, Toyo r888's in a 235/50r15 have a section width of 245 mm. Therefore, one can also argue that they are available. Furthermore, I am curious about the 60 series. How they stretch and seat on a wheel compared to a 50 series tire.
  5. Just purchased a set of wheels that are 15x9 zero offset for the rear and a set of 15x8 zero offset for the front. Current set up is 14x7's plus 2 offset with 215/60r14's in the front and 225/60r14's in the rear. I was hoping that someone had some pics of an s30 with the following wheel configurations. 225/60 on a 15x9 205/60 on a 15x8 245/50 on a 15x9
  6. Thanks, looks likely that I will be going with 15x8 zero offset in the front and 15x9 zero offset in the rear.
  7. Thanks, most people are running coilovers, I am using a stock suspension with only lowered springs.
  8. Has anyone succeded in using a 15x9 wheel front and back without any issues? I was thinking a 225/50/15 tire. More than likely I can see an issue with the front, but I could be wrong.
  9. Anyone else see that old fart (who by the way has made some really ugly custom cars) criticize Datsuns on the show Car Warriors!?!? He even did it more than once!!! I know that episode must have been talked about on here before, but I just saw the rerun last night. I was shocked that he would talk that way about such a classic car as the s30 which is a highly regarded car in automotive history, even Leno has nothing but good things to say about them. I think I will be sending him an email letting him know what I think, maybe everyone here sould try to do the same.
  10. I ran a 235/60/14 tire on a 14x7 positive 2 offset wheel for years on my 280z with stock suspension (front of car), car was lowered too. In comparison, a 17x8.5 positive offset wheel with a 225/45/17 tire is only 3mm closer to the suspension, so I am thinking that it may work
  11. Is that stereo with the cassette player aftermarket or original? I have a 1976 but it did not come with the original stereo.
  12. Has anyone purchased a set of these yet? I would really like to see what they look and fit like on an S30, even a stock one. With a little research, I have found that they are available in a version V3 with a 15x8 zero offset and a 15x9 positive 15 offset. Also, they are available in a 16x9 with a positive 15 offset. Was hoping to see them also come in a 16x8, hopefully they may just not be available yet and they are being produced in that size.
  13. Yes, I know there is a height difference, I was just wondering how they each fit on a 9 inch wheel and if the aspect ratio makes a differance regarding stretch.
  14. Thanks for all the advice from those who replied. Looks like I will use a 225. I did some research and found that the gforce has a section with of 9.2 inches which equates to about 234 mm. So it should fit fairly square on the 9" wheel. If the toyo r888 were more affordable I would run the 235/50/15. Does anyone know if using a 60 profile vs. a 50 would make a difference in the stretch? I did not see good examples on tirestretch.com.
  15. I am not a huge fan of stretched tires, a little is ok, but too much and I think it's dangerous and looks weird on a car. Anyway, I was hoping someone, possibly someone who works in the tire industry would be able to answer my question. Due to limited sizes in 15 inch tires I was looking at placing a 225/50/15 or 225/60/15 on a a 15x9 inch wheel, my question is: Which brand of tire would give me the least amount of stretch? I know that some tires have a "lip saver" feature and I was wondering if that would make the tire actually wider and give minimal stretch. I just wish they started making 235 or 245's in 15's again.
  16. From what I remember reading, they don't weigh very much for a 9" wheel it was between the 15-17 lb mark, can't remember exactly.
  17. I think you mean a seller. I have always thought a staggered set in those sizes would look good on a z that has original fenders and is slightly lowered, maybe with a 205/60/15 for the front and a 225/60/15 in the rear.
  18. In my opinion 17's look too large on an s30. I would say 14 and 15's look nice and 16's are the max before it starts looking too unbalanced.
  19. You can, if you really like the wheels just use a 20 or 25mm wheel adapter/spacer and go 16x9 zero offset on all 4 corners. I find it very unlikely that they will make the wheel any wider. However, they may make it with a lower offset like -10 or -15, I would ask the company.
  20. This can't be correct if both the 8 and 9 inch wheel are zero offset. The backspacing would be 4.5 and 5 inch respectively. Also, the sizes mentioned work better under stock fenders, with zg flares you would need between negeative 20-25 offset to look right. I hope this information helps. These wheels do look promising, another wheel option for an s30. It just gets better and better.
  21. Well I have had a 215/60/14 on a 14x7 +10 wheel in the front of my 280 which according to the tire calculator is the same distance to the stock suspension as 235/50/15's are on 15x9 zero offset wheels. So yes it should work, especially if you plan to use skinny a$$ tires like 205's LOL.
  22. It would work using a 205 tire. However, I would be careful with the front. Unless you intend to roll your fenders, the -10 offset may come out too far causing the tire to rub with the fender when going over bumps. You may want to stay with the 15x9 zero offset for the front and 15x9 -10 offset for the rear.
