that engine loos like a MONSTER ! Now the oil in the turbo, means it is leaking oil i believe, im sure a turbo guy will chime in. That means it is bad, or on the verge of giving up. I am interested in knowing how much you have torn down that engine so far?

Hey guys, my club SoCalZ is getting together with Empire Z Club this coming Sunday and having a drive up to Big Bear to hang out and then drive back down. SoCalZ will be meeting at the Carls Jr. in Corona off the 91fwy at Green River Rd at 9:30am. We will be departing from there at 9:45am. We will be heading up to Chevron gas station by WalMart at the bottom of Hwy330 and meet Empire Z at 10:30 there. We are all leaving promptly at 11am. Drive includes awesome drive through curvy roads through Running Springs to the South side of Big Bear Lake. We'll grab something to eat up there in the city, then head down the 38 Highway through Angelus Oaks to Mentone near the 10 Freeway. Let me know if you want to come as we are looking for a big group. Dave i love that Castrol Supra. It has the perfect racing scheme and it also does great in races. Do you go to any races having to do anything with Castrol?

no, because ive had mine unplugged from vacumm for a while when i was having engine problems with my last engine. it didnt effect anything having to do with driveability. Its your fuel pump, more than 80% sure. slightly pinch the incoming fuel hose right after the fuel filter with a pair of pliers with a cloth and see if that shuts down the engine at idle.

no, all fuel pumps used in z's are external right outside of the tank and are very easy to change.

yeah i read the post before the last and im thinking the fuel pump is dead. it supplies enough fuel to keep the car at idle, but when you want the engine speed to increase, which in turn demands the injectors fire more, which in turn is demand for more fuel, it will cut out and bog down under a lean condition. I sure its the fuel pump, i have went through this a few times on my Z's. When you change a fuel pump, you should also change the fuel filter with it. Good luck.

The popping under the hood is a backfire through the intake. I know that much at least.

Ok guys this makes me very nervous working with electronics. I just got a z32 fuel injection system today and im going to use it on the L28. Now, someone help me with step 1. what in the world would i do next. Do i need a crank sensor (?)? I was actually looking for a z31 setup so i can follow people like Tony F. and such, but i came across this for free. You know how it is, you gotta get rid of that bulky afm and that stupid flap thing. Im looking foward to the better breathing intake of the z32 and also the better mileage if i can get it. Plz help of you can.
