Correct yourself. There are many 4's that will out-do 6's all day and all night long. BTW, the "1.8 liter four" your comment is focused on, is a factory turbo engine. Yes, the power is almost the same as the VR6. Do some research before you post.

I would like to add. The last 2 years i attended the MSA, i have seen some of the prettiest Z's in the world. Anything from custom, to original, it was there. Z Guys drive from all over the country, from Mexico, from Canada. The Z's are judged in categories anything ranging from performance to looks. I find it odd, that the local Z club, GroupZ, takes home the majority of the awards given by MSA. When i say majority, i mean 80-90% of the awards. While i have SEEN many better Z's at the event, and the owners made one hell of a trip to get it there, WHY do the most awards go to the local Z club? GroupZ is the largest supporter of MSA. MSA even has members in GroupZ. Im sorry, i enjoy going there, but i feel MSA is a bit biased when it comes to their business and their show. I do agree that there are MANY Z's that should have not been there. I even saw an old 240 with a beater turbo engine, and the exterior looked like it had syrup poured all over it. Just a bad sight. If yall hold a HybridZ event, ill throw a V8 in just so i can participate

Oh, well i thought the diff i was putting in was the same one. I looked around online and found out the 77 was a different diff. What i mean to say is that i never changed it to another ratio. I was under the assumption the 77 and 79 shared the same diff. This is too confusing.

I took it out of a 77 that was a race car.

Im beating my head on this one. A friend got me all confused on what differential i have in my Z. Its a 79 280zx, never changed the diff. I know its an r200, but what is the ratio? At 80mph, the rpm's are at/VERY near to 3k.

Is anybody here at hybrid good with plastics? I would love to see pillar pods for speakers that lay right next to the corner of the dash so no view obstruction occurs.

Chris. There is a device called the Air Flow Regulator. Pinch the incoming air tube on the AFR with a pair of vice grips. The AFR may be stuck open, allowing a little more air to enter the engine while at normal temps. The Air Flow Regulator maintains a steady idle during warmup. Also, you may be confusing yourself. The engine can also pop through the intake while running rich. Fix that connector and pinch off the AFR. You will have to find the location of the Air Flow Reg by looking in a manual.
