    amen brother! the majority of people down here think that old z's are for drug dealers. i never get any comments on what i should or should have done under the hood. hell, if you see the majority of z cars down here you would puke. most of them are owned and driven by low down ghetto scum who dont care what their car looks like anytime, anyday. you will constantly see new cars these people to buy, saving up for years living off rice and beans only to crash it drive around with the bumper hanging off and not even give a damn. im just happy to own a z that looks half decent and still runs with average sports cars every once in a while. now if i was to take a trip to where you live, id probably simply tell them to shut up, at least it runs. and KraZeeZX, im glad to see that you are doing what Nissan should have done in the first place. Stick a v8 in there (even though you arent doing a nissan v8).
  8. when i was in the camaro clubs, i learned that the 302 and 350 are completely different blocks. the 302 cant be bored much because it has water passages that are close to the cylinders. the 350 has water passages that are different. correct me if im wrong.
  9. bluestreak. our brakes in the zx are fine. you should just get new stock replacement rotors, good pads (not basic auto parts store stuff), and good fluid like Valvoline synthetic. I think you are working up the wrong alley changing the brake system.
  10. LOL i would go grab an L28et and just work with that from there. give it a nice new head gasket and a tune up and you should be happy. im sure the boost-meisters will jump in here shortly.
  11. i think the piston size and compression matter more than exhaust valve size. you can only push out as much air as your piston will let you, right? i think the intake valves will gain you more since you can stuff more air into there.
  12. there is a VG30DET DOHC out there. He isnt talking about your average everyday VG30DET single cam or the VG30DETT dohc. Got this info from another site. The engine came in the Nissan Leopard Ultima, do a search on it. Nissan Cedric Y31 Series The Y31 was in production between late 1987 and 1991. It's engines include the 2960cc OHC V6 VG30E engine, the 2000cc turbo charged DOHC V6 VG20DET engine and the 2960cc turbo charged OHC V6 VG30ET engine. Nissan Cedric Y32 Series The Y32 was in production between late 1991 and 1994. It's engines include the 2960cc DOHC V6 VG30DE engine and the 2960cc turbo charged DOHC V6 VG30DET engine. Nissan Cedric Y33 Series The Y33 was in production between late 1994 and 1998. It's engines include the 2960cc DOHC V6 VG30DE engine and the 2960cc turbo charged DOHC V6 VG30DET engine. Nissan Cedric 430 Series The Y34 entered production in 1998 and is still being made today. It's engines include the 2960cc DOHC V6 VG30DE engine and the 2960cc turbo charged DOHC V6 VG30DET engine.

  16. man my MC and brake booster are shot. the seal between the MC and brake booster is leaking bubbles. i pulled the mc off the booster and there was fluid all over the place. tommorow i am replacing the both of them with ones from an 83. will the 83 brake booster work in the 79's place?
  17. hahah that happened to me when i first got my car. i was racing an m3 ont he freeway and i kept it up past 5k rpms for like 5 minutes. when i pulled off the freeway, i smelled and saw oil dripping down. i have no idea what caused it and it has never done it again. maybe because i replaced the tranny and seals so many times since then. who knows.

  21. Yes the WC T-5 is a hot ticket. Some of you have told me you didnt know that the t-5 came in the camaro. Here is a link from v8rx7.com about the Chevy application T-5. http://v8rx7.com/trans.htm also another thing that has been on my mind (remember i dont claim to know much about trannys). Im wondering if a WC T-5 can work on a 280zxt L28.

Ive been chatting with some of you on AIM and email about what tranny i think is cool for your high horsepower app. I admit i dont know everything, or barely anything about transmissions, but i will share something i learned about T-5's while i was into 3rd Gen Camaros a few years back. I had an IROC. There is a tranny called the t-5. they are good transmissions, but some people will disagree with that. The t-5 came on the 5 speed Camaro, Mustang, and as we all know the 280zx turbo. I dont know what other cars they came on, but im sure they are aplenty. I would like to discuss the World Class T-5. I was going to do this swap when i had my 89 IROC. I know it will hold up to high HP better than the regular T-5. Better than me telling all of you fine people what it is all about (if you dont know already), i would like to share this link with you. http://moderndriveline.tripod.com/moderndriveline/id14.html That is good material to learn.
