  1. Thank you SleeperZ for understanding my bad english. I forgot to mention that I didn't use the relays which are original in 260z's electric system. I decided to use totally new relays. But I have to go and check all the connection. Does the ecu groung itself only through certain pins and not through the casing? Also is it possible that the missing engine accessories could cause the problem(like the air regulator)?
  2. Now I really need your help. I problems to get the z31 ecu work with L28ET engine. I'm using z31 harness to attach everything to the ecu. Engine tries to start, but the main fuel pump doesn't have any life in it. I think that the fuel pump doesn't ground itself. This because I measured 12.4V from the both of the fuel pumps poles. I have fuel pump, AFM, cylinder head temp sensor, EFI relay, fuel pump relay, CAS, fuel temp sensor, throttle valve switch(from s13 CA18DET engine) and injectors connected to the ECU. Exhaust gas sensor I don't have because the original car didn't have any. I have checked that AFM and CAS has proper grounds. I have made new ground for pins 113, 112, 109, 107 36, 28 to make sure that's not the problem. What should I do next? Should the ECU turn on any lights when it turns on? I attach a terrible picture to tell how I have connected the fuel pump. I have extra relay just in case.
  3. But doesn't it inject gasoline to the cylinder at the wrong time? Because the firing order is totally different.
  4. This might be unbelievably stupid question, but I can't find the answer anywhere(and my engine management knowledge aren't at pro level). I made a L28ET swap and I changed z31 ecu right away. do I need to get ecu chip programmed before I can even make a test start for the engine? I think I do, but am I right?

  7. I'm still trying to figure out how the fuel pump(and all the other wiring) is connected in z31. Can someone explain me what that dashed line means?
  8. Well, I have z31 CAS, MAF, ECU, harness, distributor already. At the time only problem is how to connect coil and fuel pump to z31 harness. After that I only need to connect the whole thing to the car.
  9. Do you I really need the power transistor if I use the coil which I was using with my L26 and not z31 coil?
  10. I'm trying find a replacement for the coolant sensor in P90 head. Here in finland, of course the task is very difficult. I tried to search the dimensions and I found some kind of info about it, but I wanted to make sure that the dimensions are M12x1.5. Is that correct info? And can anybody advise did any newer mass production (or any other car company) model have this same sensor? Also I would like to know, does z31 have different socket in this than the one in s130 sensor?
  11. I just did this first time ever in my life and I pulled engine and tranny as a package. I recommend that.
  12. I have a slight problem with my L28+NA tranny swap. Engine package fits perfectly, but the transmissions shifter doesn't come to the right location. Engine and transmission came from 280zx and the tranny is 5-speed version. After thorough search and reading here I thought that this package would fit perfectly. But not a chance... The body which I'm putting the engine is early 260z. What seems to the problem or have I missed something totally? Previously car had L26 with automatic. Also before installing I measured length from middle of engine mounts to end gearbox and compared it to the old one(L26+automatic), and that was same length. I'm bit confused... BTW. I wasn't sure which section to post this to, but if there is a problem with it, could moderators move this to right section?
  13. With hybridz advise I started to install Z31 ecu with OEM harness to my 260z(don't have L28ET harness). I'm almost on top this but few things I need to ask. Which of these components do I need to connect to make ecu work and where do I connect these? - power transistor - Air regulator - EGR control solenoid valve - PR control solenoid valve - Cylinder head temperature sensor - Fuel temp sensor - Detonation sensor - EFI relay - EIA solenoid - Idle up solenoid valve Sorry If these little beginner questions, but I'm doing this for the first time.
  14. I would suggest that you get one from US. You propably going to get it cheaper and you have more options to choose. When I was looking for one shipping to finland was around 1500€ and I think you are going to get much cheaper.

  18. I think that toni's diff is R200, because I have compared the pictures with it and also some 260z 2+2 came with R200. I'm not sure if everyone came, but the ones with manual transmission came with bigger diff. BTW, Many finns have invaded hybridZ...
  19. This might be stupid question, but I haven't figured this out yet. If I want to put R200 from 300zx to my 260z which has R180, do I need the 280z mustache bar? Also if I want to use halfshafts I need kit like the one which modern motorsport has?

  21. I haven't had the change to try. My engine is still in piece. I though that I fix my distributor before I get pieces from machine shop. If you can, could you check it? I would be very grateful.
  22. Does anyone have this picture available or can describe me which way you should put the chopper wheel? I have chopper wheel from z31 which has two holes in middle. Should I put the second hole to the right side or the left? The other one clerly goes to the clip...?
