  1. ok dont laugh at me too much but how do you weld stainless pipe is it just like normal steel? i have a mig welder do i need anything special?
  2. its incredible whay some bondo and sanding will do 1st coat i didnt mention it before but you can see in these pictures that the center gauges face the driver here is the staggered top view
  3. Carefull with these they alow alot of room for crap to get into the connections. Use dome die electric grease in the connections, and also use sylicone to seal up where the wires go into the connector. Trust me I did get stranded for a couple hours with a buddy of mine trying to clean a connection with minimal tools just my .02 also if anyone has a problem with dimming lights i fixed mine by running a heavier gauge wire i think i ran a nuber 4 or a number 6 i cant remember

  6. Here is the first layer of glass Its rough but hey for a first attemt its not to shabby and plus thats why Im going to do a second layer and a skim coat of bondo for right. I read that if you mix the resin in with the bondo that it will make it easier to spread is this true or was that person on crack?

  8. basically a kind of wall sub box think i will have a box but i want it to be fiberglassed in. it would go right behind the front seats and morph into the rear also will house 6x9s and amp
  9. What are some good ways to make a mold for fiberglass when you dont have a exsisting part to work with? I want to make a custom rear area for my z. I would like some ways to build a frame to fiberglass without adding to much weight. I have heard of people using chicken wire but i can't figure out how they would do it. Pictures would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again guys and gals
  10. its a a spot for a future boost gauge i just figured that would be good because they use the same setup just have to swith the hose over later on

  12. finished the rought coat of fiberglass once it dries ill get pics to post smells to bad in the garage right now

  14. Where can I find a good wiring diagram for a 1979 280zx? I have searched but can find anything good. Would it be roughtly the same as a 82? Alldata only goes back to 1982 and the book I got is not worth squat. I want to eliminate alot of wiring and figure some things out like..... 1 What are the three things under the pass seat 2 What can be eliminated without messing up the main body wiring 3 What wires are the main body wiring harness (i.e..... turn signals brake lights head lights etc etc.....) thanks alot for the info you guys and gals are great
  15. i would think you could do it without removing the windo it will be tough but im sure its possible

  20. good point didnt think of that yeah the only reason i know that is i had 4 bad ones right off the shelve can you belive that crap
  21. i dont know if you guys know this trick but you can ohm out your injectors to see if they are good the bad ones will be way off the chart compared to the others +or- just a friendly note

  23. ok now that i have some sleep here goes im ready to start fiberglassing the dash this weekend. question for all of you fiberglass guys can i fiberglass this dash out side of the car or will the frame warp? heres what the dash is..... original frame with sections i cut welded back in around gauge holders it feels really sturdy i will post pics as soon as i smooth some welds. thanks alot guys and any tips are greatly appreciated:)
