  1. Good point, of all my 31 years I know of two people that crashed on bikes, road rash in both cases. For cars, I have one dead cousin from car wreck, dead high school friend, car wreck, another high school friend in coma for one week, car wreck, wifes sister car wreck, fractured neck, Best friend in high school nearly died when he crashed his 66 mustang, got scalped by the rear view mirror, your right, I'm selling my car I Have known a lot of bike riders but I can't remember one that got hurt bad on a bike, real easy to think of hurt and dead people from car wrecks. I know what you mean, but man a lot of people get hurt in either case.
  2. What dwell settings were you running with the VB921? What dwell are you running now with the E12-80? Just wondering if that was a cause of the VB921 frying out.
  3. Since the MAP sensor does not require any wires (it is already on the megasquirt board) you would just leave off the AFM and be set.
  4. On this topic I drove one of the toyota Prius cars last weekend just because someone I know has one, that person gets 50mpg and it was pretty nice to drive. I didn't go out on the freeway with it. Doesn't look as nice as my bike though, IMO.
  5. I just picked up an 81 Suzuki GS1000 shaft drive cruiser last week for $950. Excellent condition, garaged its whole life. I started driving it to work this week, 60 mile round trip each day. I got 48mpg on the first tank, and pretty fun to get back on a bike.
  6. What are you doing in the bedroom that needs 32 analog inputs? Cameras?
  7. I figured that would melt the pistons.
  8. I went ahead and removed that reply, bad badjuju bad
  9. Yeah, he has quite the beard going. I have to trim it every month. He is also short.
  10. When I'm not working on the cars I work with real horse power That is me on the far side driving and a couple friends riding along. Thorin is my horse, I do all the training with him. He was only 2 1/2 years old in this picture. This year he has grown up a lot and matured a lot. He is also broke under saddle. This fills many of the other areas in life that cars can't satisfy.

Pulling the cart with Thorin summer of 2005 when he was 2 1/2 years old.
  12. This topic also interests me because I am entertaining the idea of fuel injecting my GS1000 which is air cooled. I was thinking about mounting a sensor against the engine and then calibrating it with a thermocouple we have here at work.
  13. I just converted my eagle talon to megasquirt and I unsoldered the factory ECU connector and then wired it to the DB37 so now I just plug the megasquirt directly into the factory harness ECU connectors, worked out really slick. You could so something like that to get started.
  14. To look at my 021u settings you have to create a new directory under megatune and make sure it has the correct o21u msns_extra.ini file.
  15. The VE map in the map sharing thread from my 021u code settings would get you going I think, I had upgraded to 450cc injectors by then.
  16. Megasquirt only knows that it gets a trigger, doesn't matter if it comes from optical, hall, etc. So there is no setting in megatune for that. But, you might have to change the hardware on the megasquirt board so that it is compatible with your hall sensor. Are you not seeing a trigger signal into megasquirt?
  17. uh, I don't think so. You need to go into megatune and set the fixed angle to 10 degrees BTDC. Then put a timing light on the engine and crank it over and see if you are getting 10 degrees BTDC on the damper timing mark. Then you know the timing is set correctly. If it does not show 10 degrees, you either change the trigger angle in megatune OR you rotate the dizzy, one or the other. You might have done this already, but your post didn't mention it. And read the manual again haha just kidding.
  18. Excellent, You should re-do that simple schematic and repost it without the resistor to complete this thread, so other people don't just see it and install it. My fuel pumps have always been mounted below the level of the gas in the fuel tank, so they self prime basically.
  19. I have to be careful not to reply to too many posts or Tim240z will be calling me a post whore A lot of times I wait a day or so for other people to answer posts for several reasons.
  20. That could be right for cranking rpm. So it sounds like your tach input is working (trigger into megasquirt). When you turn the car on, but don't crank the fuel pump should prime for a couple seconds then shutoff. Then if you start cranking the fuel pump will turn on and run continuously during cranking, that also tells you that the tach input to megasquirt is working.
  21. I think the 029 extra code does support 6 spark outputs now, but you still have to wire 6 transistors for coil drivers.
  22. here you go, this is the conversion chart: Dizzy side ------------ Harness Side Red (12v) B/W White (MS trigger) G/B Green (not used) G/Y Black (gnd) Black
  23. I have read articales that say any thing richer than 12:1 doesn't help anymore in preventing detonation anyway, I dunno, but I'm not going to run any richer than 11.8 on anything I do in the future.
