  1. I developed a 2.4L 4G63T/4G64 hybrid for 2G owners...I was *this close* to dropping one in my Z.
  2. The only pic I have left on the PC is in my sig pic...when I get done with my engine swap I will take more. I have the MSA front and rear Air Dam + the F40 style wing.
  3. They're some cheapies off of EBay that I got about 6 mos. ago. I've noticed that they have some much tighter fitting ones than the ones I got now....so, if I have to... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7952588603&category=33631#ebayphotohosting
  4. Thanks No_Damn. I get every other Monday off (inluding this one) so I might take you up your offer!!
  5. I have a GTech Pro if you'd like to borrow it. I have to find it first, though, which I can probably do this weekend. It's in a box somewhere (we moved recently)
  6. Wheelman, No, I haven't test fit anything yet, but, I didn't want to have to have to put it in, and pull it multiple times. I'm still a little worried about my headers, though, thinking maybe I should just get some closer fitting ones than the ones I have. I should, if all goes well, be able to at least get the engine mounted in the car this weekend.
  7. Well, *for now* I'm going to be running a TH350 (due to cost issues, it came with the engine in the car) so, hopefully that'll be ok. Question: Do you think I cut down the tranny mount brackets enough? (see pic)
  8. OK... I talked to a local guy and also did some research on the net and it appears as though alot of people have just left the lines where they are at without any problems, but, just to be safe, I'm going to see if I can find some heat wrapping for the lines. I just don't feel too comfortable bending line without kinking it. Thanks for the input Tim.
  9. In the JTR book they mention that they like to run the fuel lines into the fender well...is this absolutely necessary, or just an aesthetic suggestions?
  10. Umm...I honestly don't remember the brand... Was there any way around the headers not fitting other than just buying different ones?
  11. OK...I took your advice about the chrome...and instead went a different route...it didn't cost me much....and I think it will match my Z alot better. Before: After:
  12. You gotta give it up for the 4 cyl AWD guys (notice my name)
  13. If I can't get it now, I'll eventually get it later. I know, more work...maybe more $$...but, at least I'll have a V8 Z in the mean time.
  14. Well, lemme do this... I'll buy all of the major stuff that I know I need to buy (still have to buy a shifter, exhaust, driveshaft, etc...) and see how much I have left in the budget. (I already have the JTR install kit) When I bought the El Camino donor car it already had a rebuilt th350 in it. So, as of this moment, I have around $600 into the swap, give or take, with a maximum budget of $1500. I don't think I'll have enough to get another tranny and still be able to do the swap....I'm going to be pushing it already as it is I think. I'd rather have a V8 TH350 powered Z than have to wait another 6 months to try and save up to get a better tranny. Besides, this car hasn't seen the freeway in a few months anyway. If I have to go somewhere on the freeway I always just take my bike or I could take my Talon TSi AWD.
  15. I'll move on to the next thread after hearing that one...
  16. If you're overly worried about it you could install some straps to make sure the springs don't come unperched.
  17. Well, I got the engine out of the Camino today. Tomorrow I'm gonna go down and start buying all of the chrome dress up pieces for it. The engine was already rebuilt in the Camino, along with the tranny. I'm going to use the TH350 that is in it (for financial reasons mostly). My headers are on order and should be here soon. From what I read in the JTR book I might have to buy a new starter (need to go back and read that again), so, that's something else 'll have to do. More work than I'd initially thought there would be. I really hope it's all worth it in the end.
  18. http://www.paintscratch.com/cgi-bin/search_paint_names.cgi Do a search on Orange. I bet you'll find the exact color code you're looking for.
  19. from looking at your post... the should follow url IE...
  20. I was reading my JTR book awhile ago...in it (I'll get the page number when I get home) they say that LSD's aren't that noticeable on straight line accelleration, but, are very noticeable in turns... That statement seems to defy logic...am I just not thinking correctly?
  21. Hi RacerX!! Long time no talk!! Not sure if you've seen me post recently in the V8 section of the site
  22. I almost got it to work in my '77 280Z about a year or two ago (if the posts are here still you can see). The problem was that the 280z's tach signal didn't really jive with the SAFC...however, now I have an MSD (with a tach output)...so, I could probably get it to work this go around...assuming I still had my SAFC. It's doable, but, you may end up having to invest in a different ignition or at least some kind of adapter.
  23. I got my JTR book today...the mounts awhile back...and the El Camino donor-mobile last weekend. Wish me luck.
