  1. If you are just boxing it in and it is not structural, I would just go with 20 or 22 gauge. It is easier to work with.
  2. Yeah the car is completely stripped and I did the sub frame connectors a few months ago. I also put in a diagonal brace in the car before I put it on the rotisserie, I guess I should be good. Thanks
  3. I think the decision to replace the whole floor or not would be one you need to make. When you get it all stripped down to bare metal you can look at the whole thing. Obviously you would not replace the whole thing if there are just a few rust areas. Also depends on your perception of "little" or "a lot" of rust. Little rust to you might be a lot for someone else. You have any pictures? A picture is worth a thousand words. Good luck.
  4. Well I just wanted to know how you guys feel about seam welding the body while it is on a rotisserie. Of course welding to evenly distribute the heat, but do you think the body will warp more easily because it is on the rotisserie? Or am I being overly concerned? Thanks
  5. Hi, I'm looking for a 16' trailer, open, dual axle, with brakes in good condition. I live in Moreno Valley,CA next to Riverside. If anyone has one send me an email, jkgts123@hotmail.com Thanks
  6. I am looking into buying a trailer to haul my 260z around. So far I found a used one, but it is only 14' long. Anyone using this size trailer to haul their Z, any issues? Thanks
  7. That is what I needed to know thanks to everyone for their help.
  8. Thanks. Those look like the same fittings I have, minus the oring. I also have the male M12x1.5 for the outlet, and the pump in my picture of the outlet show a male end on the fitting that came with the pump. Did you have the same brass fitting on your pump and removed part of the fitting to put the AN fitting on? Sorry I have so many questions. Thanks
  9. Okay, so I can put a copper seal ring on the inlet side and see how it works. What about the outlet? If I purchase the M12x1.5 female to AN fitting should that seal up when I tighten it all together? Thanks for the help
  10. Now looking at the outlet (with the brass colored fittings) I think I need to get a M12x1.5 female end not a male end that I have now. I am still unsure if it will be "water" tight. See the inlet with the blue AN fitting on there, there is a gap around the hexagonal portion. Can anyone chime in for input? I know many people use this pump, so what fittings did you guys use? Thanks

    fuel pump

    From the album: 260z

  15. So I got a Bosch 044 inline fuel pump, I believe the inlet is M18x1.5 and the outlet is M12x1.5. Well, I bought two AN fittings, one M18x1.5 and one M12x1.5, both with male ends. I test fitted the inlet side, the threads have alittle play, doesn't seem to fit all that well to be leak proof. The outlet side of the pump already has a fitting on it, looks like some kind of brass fitting, and looks like there is a spring in there. Does this brass piece stay on? I'm guessing it is maybe some kind of valve, for safety? Well, I just want to know what kind of connections I need, because it seems like the ones I bought are not the correct ones. Then I thought that I need the o-ring style AN fittings, but did not find any with metric threads. This is my first time doing this and I'm not sure what I need. I will try to get some pictures up when I get home tonight. Thanks
  16. Looking good, I used 1"x3" tubing for my rails.
  17. I would also advise against using pvc. I used it when I was blasting my Z, but if you don't have enough supports it will sag real bad. I ended up attaching the plastic to the ceiling of my garage to help keep it up.
  18. Cool, thanks for the reply.
  19. Hi, I'm in the middle of doing the fuel system in my 74 260z that is going to have a 2jzgte swap. I have been looking for a lift pump for the surge tank, but I'm not sure what to use. I don't plan on increasing the HP too much in the beginning, I maybe want 350-400whp max. I was going to use the Bosch 044 for the primary pump. Does anyone have experience with the Proform standard pressure pump (#67380) for a lift pump? I've been trolling through the different threads, but still need some advise. I know some people say they use their stock pump as a lift pump, but does it flow enough or equal to the Bosch 044? I'm trying to get all my info straight, so I can try to do this right the first time. Thanks
  20. The past few days I have been thinking of ways to set up my fuel system for my 260z (2jzgte). Anyway I found some AN steel weld in fittings. Now this might be a silly question, but is it ok to use the steel AN fitting with the aluminum AN fittings? I assume it is okay, due to the fact that I do not see any other steel AN fittings aside from the weld in type. Did that make sense? Thanks
  21. Oh, dang must be my computer at work then, I'll wait till I go home. Thanks
