  1. I am going with a Hyper-Flex poly master kit. I think it includes everything but the swaybar bushings? The best price I have found on it is $157 from here... http://www.suspension.com/nissancars.htm
  2. Hey guys, I am about to order my new poly bushings for the 240. I was wondering what differences you guys noticed when you changed yours. Will I really be able to tell a big difference in every day driving?
  3. Okay guys, someone on here can for sure help me out! I know that a lot of people have 240s. I also realize that most of you have changed to the 200R diff. Assuming that you have changed your bushings you should know the answer to this question...

    Best exhaust?

Denny, those insert mufflers look pretty cool! I have been looking for something to add before my main muffler when the time comes. I may stuff one of these in right after my Y pipe....
  5. I know bushing kits have been done to death but I have searched and cant find anything that helps. I am about to order a energy suspension bushing kit for my 73 240. At the same time I will be installing an R200 diff. Here are my questions. 1. Are the Mustach Bar Bushings different from R180 to R200? 2. What other bushing differences are there between the 240 and the 280? Assuming there is a difference between the Mustach Bar Bushings I was planning on ordering a kit for a 280 to match the diff. Can I do this or will I have to buy a kit for a 240 and then buy the Mustach Bar Bushings separate? Thanks for your help!
  6. There is seriously something wrong with you... You have to watch them both http://www.teamabuse.com/toxic/stuff/swk.htm
  7. Here is another poor guy falling into the same trap... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1113&item=3511421289
  8. Maybe one day... I am curious to see how these Mercedies 5spd autos hold up to the hp. http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/dodge/hemi57/hemi57.htm
  9. Well, I really dont know the weight but I do know that it is suppose to be 60lbs lighter than the 360. It is a 345 small block itsself. I know the engine is all new. I would say the only thing they have in common is the shape of the combustion chamber.
  10. I dont need a gear swap. I actuall chose the higher of the two gears offered because I do a lot of hwy travel. From what I understand this truck has no trouble pulling anything close to what my 1/2 ton truck is rated for. The complaints have come from the 3/4 ton guys. My truck is more for daily driving than pulling!
  11. everything I have read has said somewhere between 270 and 280cfm. There are a few guys who are not very happy with the engine due to sub par towing performance below 3K. This is due to the high flow heads.
  12. Something that people need to keep in mind when comparing this engine to the LS1. The current HEMI is made to be a work engine for a truck. It is not tuned for a car as of yet. The HEMI heads out flow the LS1 heads by something like 15%. I think there is a lot of power just under the surface of this bad boy!
  13. I want this engine for my car instead of my truck. I know your all tired of hearing me sing the praises of the new HEMI engine but holy cow. Finally someone from the Dodge truck forum had one dynoed. Only problem is the speed limiter (105) wouldnt let him pull past 4,400RPM. The engine is suppose to make its peak hp at 5400 RPM. I have never seen a torque curve this flat! I would just love to know what is lurking above 44K. The truck pulls really strong all the way to redline so I dont think it drops through the floor or anything. Oh yeah and this was on a 4x4 the guys over there say you can figure an extra 10% through the transfer case?

  15. Ummm Okay... http://www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/Music/03/04/leisure.jackson.reut/index.html
  16. Hey Cody, your dads lighning had 20 more HP than my friends. Also, what kind of Ram did your dad get? A lot of people dont really take into account the weight difference between a two door and a four door or two wheel drive vs four wheel. A crew cab 4wd Ram weighs almost 1000lbs more than my truck. I would also be interested to know what gear your dad has. I dont want people to come away thinking that I feel my truck is faster than it really is. I have just ridden in both trucks and I really cant tell any difference in power... Maybe he will toast me by two football feilds! Who knows!
  17. Mudge, I know that a good exhaust will make a V8 truck roar. My silverado had a true 2.5" dual system. This guy had dual flowmasters just like I had. Also, you might be surprised at the difference in sound a cold air intake can make. A lot of that has to do with the fact that most stock intakes have a resonating bladder to help eliminate noise.
  18. Jason, I know the new Lightnings have 380HP but I think he has the last year of the 360HP. Also, I just dont think his comes alive off the line like mine does. We go to lunch together all the time and I just dont think its all that great. I honestly feel that the HEMI is underrated. Its funny to me that it just so happened to work itself out that the first new HEMI is a 345CI with 345 HP just like the first HEMI. Besides if I lose so what! He has a friggen supercharger... I cant wait till the warrenty ends on my Dodge. The same kit that is on the Lighting makes 500HP on the HEMI! Lets see $32,000 buys you a 380HP supercharged Lightning $25,000 + $4000 supercharger gets you a 500+ hp Hemi...
  19. Mudge Yeah, I know but I had almost the same truck with the same engine and this one sounded better. I think it was probably the cold air intake. I thought at the time that he might have changed the cam because of the exhaust note. S30Z No my truck is just a regular SLT for 2003 it comes with four optional engines. 3.7L V6 215HP 235LB/ft 4.7L V8 240HP 300LB/ft 5.9L V8 245HP 335LB/ft 5.7L HEMI V8 345HP 375LB/ft Im telling you for a 4700lb truck it is bad A$$! The best part is that the HEMI engine is only a $750 upgrade over the 4.7L!
  20. I think he is just ignorant. You will find that most people who claim to be motor heads know just enough to be dangerous. They have a lot of lingo to throw around but once you get into anything challenging they know nothing. Your average redneck tree mechanic would never change the balancer unless it was falling apart. He only worries about parts that make the car go faster. You can also spot them because they often mismatch car parts on engines. You know the guys you see with the dual 650 tunnel ram setup on a street truck or something like that!
  21. Well, I know my Z is still sitting in a heap but at least I can kick a little A$$ with my new truck! It only has 400 miles on it so I have yet to really stretch its legs but Im finding out that it really doesnt need to stretch them too far to do some damage! I was visiting some friends out of town last weekend so I could show off my new ride. I was driving next to my friend (2001 Celica GTS) and he decided to "show me what a real sports car can do". He pulls up beside me at the light and starts revving. I really dont know what the truck will do but I decided to play. I hit about 3/4 throttle and that is all it took. Tires chirped and I was gone. I love that Mercedes 5 speed auto! Anyway, at the next light this guy pulls up beside me in a 2000 Silverado. I could tell he had put a lot of work into it. It was lowered, had 20" wheels, dual exhaust and actually sounded pretty mean. Well, I used to have a 2000 5.3L Silverado so I didnt hesitate to make a street comparison! He jumped out a truck length off the line (due to the much lower torque curve on the 5.3) but once the HEMI hit 4K it was all over. I reeled him in like he had blown an engine. The guy stopped at the restaurant we were going to and talked to us for a while. The Silverado had duals, TB, an intake and had been reprogrammed. I really feel that the HEMI engine is under rated. I think that Dodge reports 345HP for nostalgia purposes only. The first HEMI was also a 345CI with 345HP. My next step is to challenge my friend at work and his 2000 lightning. I know its suppose to be faster but my Dynobutt2000 tells me its pretty close! Ill let you know!
  22. ON3GO, Tell your friend to save his money. His Hemi costs way less than the Lightning and he can make it faster for less (think Hybrid HEMI). The HEMI with the same supercharger kit will toast the Lightning! How about 500+ HP for starters! http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/dodge/hemi57/hemi57.htm Or he could always just buy the soon to be out Ram SRT-10. That way he could have the 500HP, 0-60 in 5 seconds, 12.9 in the quarter and the 7 years 70K miles! [/url]http://www.edmunds.com/news/conceptcarspotlight/articles/58064/article.htmlhttp:// I think it looks better than the lightning as well!
  23. Well, I bought the truck but it doesn't look like anyone cares...
