  2. I've been recieving this message on the most recent posts. There appears to be an error with the database. Sometimes the error will need to be fixed by an administrator before the site will become accessible again.
  3. Haven't updated in a while so here's a post just so you know the Z is still alive and well. I've mainly just been driving around and cleaning up parts to sell as my Temp job is coming to an end in a couple weeks. I won't be able to purchase anything for the car until I find a permanent job somewhere. Until then I managed to trade a local guy for these SU carbs. So I'll be playing around with those for the time being.
  4. I believe only the '75 has the full size spare which would probably make that the easiest to install. Any of the later 280z's with space saver shaped tanks would probably require modification at least to the spare tire well. I can't say much on fuel fill neck location though, but I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to solve. Finding a 240z or 260z tank might be easier than finding a '75 tank though. I got lucky since a friend was putting a fuel cell in and didn't need his.
  5. I've been meaning to buy a bunch of these from mcmaster: http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-nylon-rivets/=ud0ub4 They seem like they would match pretty well I just haven't gotten around to ordering them. edit: scroll down to the "expanding shank" type.
  6. haha, I was merely informing you to a resource that would bring you more joy!
  7. There's a forum somewhere on here that documents a lot of movies and shows Z's are in.
  8. On my cars maiden voyage we flipped the switch to see if the fan worked. When we did what was remaining of a mouse nest absolutely destroyed the plastic fan. We thought we broke the car just going down the driveway. Perhaps I'll clean out my system this winter. No driving in the snow and salt here in the northeast
  9. I had a ton of mouse nests in my car similar to yours. I removed the front section of the dash where the air vents and heater controls are and vacuumed what I could. Replaced the fan and I still get varying amounts of dust and crap when the fan is turned on but it's not too noticeable. Make sure you find all the nests. I had nests in the quarter panel behind the interior plastics, in the heater core, vents, one of my doors, and in both channels under the kick panels. I vacuumed everything and bought a box of those fabric softener sheets. I spread them around the car and changed them for fresh ones every week for like 2 months and when I got the car registered I left what was left of that box under the seats. Now it just has old car smell.
  10. This was my "breakdown kit" after I finished re-installing my rebuilt suspension. What you can't see is a full set of ratchet wrenches, spare fuel pump, and a bottle of brake fluid. I would also recommend bringing a few inline fuel filters to put between the gas tank and fuel pump. I replaced my filter once a week before I cleaned the gas tank and i still need to replace it once month even after flushing it out the best I could.
  11. Maybe read through this? http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/105207-the-dreaded-diff-clunk/ It can't be too hard to track down with everything being brand new under there. I have a slight clunk as well but it gets phased out with the other noises my car makes.

Reminds me of when I first started working on my car:
  13. Most of my "actual" news comes from the BBC app on my phone. I follow a few people on youtube who also do current events and of course The Daily Show
  14. If you copy and paste these links onto your browser you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. I'm pretty sure we are thinking of the same thing though. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/attachments/electrical-s30/48758-headlight-casing-bucket-refresh-012.jpg https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/electrical-s30/43813-headlight-casing-bucket-refresh.html
  15. Do you think ABS would hold up in Transmission Fluid?
  16. That thing is beautiful! ^^^^ I love the color too
  17. If I remember correctly the Grill may need some modification but I imagine making new mounting points wouldn't be too difficult. The light bulb sockets for the turn signals are different from the 240 to the 280. I've switched to the 240 airdam as well but I still need to remove the 280z sockets and solder in the 240z style. The other way would be to modify the turn signal housing, where if you're not planning on keeping the 280 signals you could probably frankenstein the socket mounts and housings. The air dam swap was simple. I got mine from MSA. I have a build thread somewhere you can see the difference.
  18. No image in the parts reference unfortunately. But I think your thinking about the correct part. Heres my refinished headlight bucket. Its the plastic pieces that the only two screws in the image would screw into. My old adjuster screws had rusted in place so when I went and took it apart to refinish they just stripped completely.
  19. If it's at all possible I'd love to get a model of the plastic piece on the headlight bezel that the adjusting screw goes into. At least one of mine broke and the other is in pretty bad shape so I'm not sure I could get proper dimensions off of it. My headlights only illuminate the right side of the road now.
  20. I'll take a look this weekend if I still have mine. I may have thrown in out though because it wouldn't stay on the shifter. It's a green 4 speed one but I'll let you know
  21. I've used 123dmake and 123d catch. never used 123design though and I'm not sure what creo is. I'll try to grab those drains this weekend if I can.
  22. I'm looking for a 280z hatch lock that you don't have a key for. let me know if you have one. I have a series 1 240z lock that I'm just about done re-keying but since it's a different key shape I now have to use 2 different keys. And I'm also having a hard time finding a series 1 key blank. Thanks
