  1. I am pretty sure this is as you say from a bluebird or similar model. It appears to be 100 % stock. If the motor had been mounted in a fwd application it would have placed the intercooler at the top rear of the engine. It does have the traditional red top valve cover but that is all I could surmise thus far. Is it bad to use these engines to build up as far as parts availability and compatibility are concerned. can I use any redtop wiring harness. I was thinking about using a megasquirt to power everything? Oh yeah and can I just bolt up the s13 5 spd?
  2. Well I just acquired what appears to be an sr20det. I am fairly familiar with these but I have what may be a couple of dumb questions. The first thing i dont understand is the distributer I thought all the det's had coil packs. It was imported from japan and has the stock intercooler and turbo stuff all attached. It has no trans or wiring harness but everything else is there. I am wondering first what it might be worth and second is there a good place to find identification information on this engine such as block casting look up etc? Thanks for the help guys
  3. Thank you Pete. I hope to actually supercede both my own sponsorship goal as well as overall team sponsorships. Just wanted to remind everyone that this foundation allocates 90% of all incoming funds directly to research for cystic fibrosis. No donation is too small. Thanks again everyone.
  4. Ok guys I hope that you will have no problem with my posting this. Cystic Fibrosis is a cause that is very dear to my heart. I have recently donated my time as the team captain and well as a runner (I hope this does not kill me) to raise money for the CF foundation (no not carbon fiber) I am hoping some of you may have a couple extra dollars that you can put to good use. If you have more then a couple keep in mind that this is a tax write off. Please take the time to read this and please contact me with any questions you may have.... I hope that you have a brief moment to read about the upcoming 65k roses fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis. I am sending out this email on behalf of Lee University's Sociology Club. While we have set a very reasonable target for our fundraising efforts I hope that God will bless and multiply every donation and that our target will be blown away. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. If you feel led, this cause needs your support. Below you will find the details concerning the cause as well how to sponser the Sociology club as we walk or in my case run. Cystic fibrosis is a devastating genetic disease that affects children and young adults. Advances continue to be made in finding a cure, but your help is needed now - more than ever - to help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research. Too many young lives depend on this vital research to let it go unfunded! GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, I'm walking in the GREAT STRIDES event at the 2006 Cleveland - Lee University - Alumni Park site on April 1, 2006. Please help me meet my fund-raising goal of $25.00 by sponsoring me. You'll feel confident in knowing that your generous gift is used efficiently and effectively: $.90 out of every dollar you contribute goes directly toward supporting research and specialized care that improves the quality of life for those with CF. And, it's tax-deductible. Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click on the link below to make a donation to my fund-raising page where your donation will be credited to my team. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated! Donating to GREAT STRIDES is such a simple and effective way for you to show your support for this important cause. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Once again, thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation! http://www.cff.org/Great_Strides/dsp_DonationPage.cfm?idUser=122393&walkid=4073'>http://www.cff.org/Great_Strides/dsp_DonationPage.cfm?idUser=122393&walkid=4073 For more information please visit http://www.cff.org If you encounter a problem with a link, cut and paste ENTIRE link into address bar. If you are presented with a "Find A Walker" page, enter my first and last name and click on "Find Walker." Then click "View Walker" by my name in the results list to go to "My GREAT STRIDES Home Page." Thank you all for your consideration and donations, Jared Worley
  5. the auction says this is how it will look when fitted? It looks like it is barely hanging there over all the stock parts? Would be interesting to see one finished out.
  6. Wheels aren't wide enought need 8.5 front and 9 or even 9.5 in the rear also will look better lowered an inch and a half. I do like the wheels and dont even mind the color with the zg's but when you get the paint and body work done either paint the flares and car the same color or paint everything car color and the flares to match the wheels.
  7. Anyone know where to find more pictures guess Im not that good at searching.
  8. Sounds to me like between the two vehicles you should be able to fit most of your stuff. Sell or give away the rest. With the money you save on movers and or equipment to do so you could buy a new bed and table. Also think about shipping a few boxes via greyhound for cheap and then haul the rest between your cars. Greyhound will ship quite large normally unshippable items to be picked up at the nearest greyhound station. I love the east coast only problem for me is the winters but I still love it. I wish I was there right now instead of down south in the uncultured area of Cleveland, TN
  9. Well most of the pictures I have seen are in books I found a few on the internet as far as grout goes one if you are going with a fairly dark color and you have a 1/16 grout line staining will never be an issue. Here is a good example picture of granite. This is not one of the colors I hope to use however. I am hoping to use ubatuba colored tiles but want to keep them fairly dark. http://www.pbase.com/monicakm/image/16157584 http://www.pbase.com/monicakm/image/16157592 I think as was suggested before in this thread that you can't give credence to this method and refer to it as being tile.
  10. House is going on the market in 6 months so personal taste is not a huge issue. However, it is not an absolute necessity to sell so I think there is room for some style. More and more white everything is becoming a turn off to buyers from what I have observed.
  11. for the above comment ^^^ the granite tiles are 12x12 and there will be minute grout lines as the tiles will be butted to net a 1/16 grout line. I can get the granite tiles for 5.75 sqf rather then the 13.29 sqf that lowes charges not to mention I have backerboard leftover from another project. Thinset and grout would be minimal for this project so it requires very little investment. I do agree that tile countertops are pretty much out but granite tiles aren't really classified as a tile countertop. Not only that but we are doing a small island so tiling the counter for it would be easier then a custom piece of formice...On another note I have heard tons of complaints about corian from current owners and how easily it scratches I think that option is out. Still would like to hear comments from my earlier post on the beautiful (or not) gold fleck on white tiles in the bathroom that I want to replace.
  12. Ok I was getting ready to do my parents a nice little favor and install a granite tile countertop in the kitchen total price for me to do it is 300.00 max The real estate lady that came and looked at my parents house said that would be something you don't want to do as homebuyers aren't looking for that sort of thing. Just do formica at a cost of about 200.00+ I am trying to figure out why you would do a formica countertop when you could do granite tile for about the same price. Keep in mind the kitchen is getting new cabinets and new hardwood flooring. I can't imagine where she is coming from when coutertops are a huge selling point and no one likes formica? Why bother putting nice cabinets and flooring in and then install a formica counter??? Also there is ugly gold fleck on white tile in the bathroom from the seventies that I plan on replacing with beadboard. She ventured to say that this is a popular color that she sees often and it doesn't need to be replaced???!!! What the crap. Does anyone have any advice for designing a kitchen or bathroom scheme to add value and style without turning off buyers? This is going to be done in a house that will be priced at about 95,000 a good deal but this is gonna seem way low to alot of people in the city. This is good ole small town pricing.
  13. don't ya love it when people repost things that have been posted a million and one times... "Hey have you guys seen this?http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/240z.html" By searching for showcars you will find that their company has been mentioned many many times with mostly negative connotations.
  14. I think you resized them just a tad small there
  15. bump. Still looking for more motivation/advice
  16. Id be interested in hearing more about this msa performance ecu???
  17. you could remove the positive camber aspect buy fabricating modified strut towers. I believe mikelly discussed this in relation to his custom control arms. I think custom control arms would be the way to go in the scenario. With all the labor and parts expense that would go into it and all the modifications that would have to be made I would say go with the vette irs swap that Scottie-GNZ did.
  18. If 320 out the door is the price I would go for it. I would see how much their extended warrenty cost for that product though as i cannot vouch for the quality. That being said it looks like a good product and 320 is hard to beat.
  19. Going to do some more research when I get off work tonight. This is a simple business Im going to try to avoid contracting since I am very limited with my time and also trying to see if I can do without the LLC. If anyone else has any additional information and advice especially about the financial end of things including taxes that would be great. Don't forget trying to get my feet wet with near no startup capitol and the longer I can keep it that way the better the chances that this could work for me.
  20. Ok guys really great comments so far. Just keep in mind I want this to be a weekend only business and I have to make enough to make it worth the extra taxes etc. Not trying to do a big tax evasion gig here just trying to make use of a skill I have. Not alot of tilers around here as there aren't alot of new homes going up as fast as they are further south. I am in a low income area Cleveland, TN so 7.00 is what I make at the local staples selling office equipment w/0 commission. I just need to make 2-300 dollars a week to make this worth my while. However, I do not think working for someone as a contractor is what I want to do. This is more complicated then what I want and will also cause problems with my predominatly weekend schedule. I have next to no assets so this needs to be as low budget as possible of course I do not want to sacrafice quality just need to keep it very simple and basic. I am planning on buying the equipment and maybe doing a job or two to recoup that cost. I am interested in getting a small business liscense or whatever I need to do but I can't afford legal fees etc. Like I said in my first post. I can get nice enough equipment to handle weekend jobs with quality results for 500 dollars max if not a bit less with some creative shopping. Above and beyone that I will have next to no cash in the beginning. Maybe I am just crazy to think this is an option?
  21. Ok guys please give me some feedback/encouragement. I am in college right now after getting off to a late start. Anyway to make a long story short 7.00 an hour (about 90-100 a week) isnt paying my bills. Anyways I do have a little cash saved up and am thinking about doing some tile jobs on the side. I have some experience as well as free advice from my uncle who has his own tile business. I am thinking about trying to do one job per weekend. I can get a nice wetsaw from harbor frieght for 199.00 plus 20% off if I hurry on this. With the rest of my equipment and some advertising I should be around 500.00 if not less. I really don't want to make this big just make enough money to quit my crappy job. Laying tile would pay twice as much or more even at a huge discounted labor rate. Home Depot is charging 4.49 sqf to lay it on concrete and 6.95 to lay on subflooring. In either case owner provides any and all supplies. I am thinking about shooting for 2.50-3.00 sqf probably hourly rate for backsplashes etc. Hope some of ya can chime in.
  22. The valspar hardner says for all enamel paints? Might want to read all the specifics on the can and or spec sheet first before mixing with other brands. If you look at their tractor impliment paint line (pretty much identical chemical makeup to rust line) You have 2 or 3 orange colors to choose from.
  23. The price is definatly right. Id say do a bmw v12 swap in that thing and it would sound beautiful!!! Or keep it cheap and simple and go sbc for more fun throw in a turbo.
  24. Not only that but scca mike who was selling the outlaw brakes and coilover kits has had a nice yellow 240 convertible with those wheels for at least a couple of years now. Sorry to burst the bubble. They do look good though.
