  2. a PM might be in order for this gentlemen.... h35 powered rb25det f/s on nico.... 300whp 250tq @ 10 lbs
  3. looks awesome---- if i didnt have a molded front end you would have a large sum of money in your paypal to make me one just like it
  4. any detail on wiring in an ignitor? (I have an S2) Also anyone with the lsx coils?
  5. a 6" sub does nothing bad the lows that make the music enjoyable for me. The car doesnt shake or rattle and you cant even tell when you are outside the car that there is a sub. For 100 bucks + the cost of wiring it was a very "sound investment" (I know im corny)
  6. Well, essentially since the car is not my daily driver the need for storage has since declined. I took the covers and used them to make templates. Took 1/4 inch think wood and sat them flush inside the boxes and monted the speaker in. When I removed the carpet from the inside of the car there were two precut holes that were already on the bottom half of the storage boxes. I sealed them off and used finger protectors from shrink wrap to make small ports. the ports were cut to size and now I have two ported enclosures that give just the right amount of midbass in combination with the bazooka 6" sub to make an afternoon cruise that much more enjoyable. I still have to figure out how I am gonna make the front of the setup look nice as it looks bootleg with the wood and the screws securing the ports. Either way if you are interested in putting in a nice sounding speaker system this one is extremely high quality. Kenwood 4" speakers in the custom dashboard kenwood 5x7 in the boxes bazooka 100 watt powered 6" sub
  7. We need to start an RB 25 dyno thread with mods and graphs so that people can start to see on their own where certain things make their power..... This would help all of us on turbo selection and how power responds to certain mods. While on the forums that are centered around cars that are more common a turbo opinion thread would get flamed... there are a rare bit of us in the states who own RB motors so I always take a look to see how I can plan to make more/better power. The last thing I want to say when I am finished with my power/mods is "If I could do it all over again this is what I would do" just my .02.. -E
  8. im about to draw myself...see what you can do in that department.... ...but seriously in for diagrams....
  9. Well, this stems off of a Z U L8r Thread about racing... however it deserves its own thread title for the sake of detail and searchability so here goes..... Please list you power level and ignition modifications for your RB powered Z...cost, degree of difficulty etc A few to mention are the LS1 Coils and the Buick GN coil and Ignitor.... Wiring diagrams for S1 and S2 Rb motors appreciated....and any other information would be awesome.. -E
  10. What do you have against just putting cams in your motor now? Just curious....I feel like it would help the overall powerband and make whatever turbo you decide to go with in the future that much better
  11. holset hx35s are used a lot by beemer guys. I would try a forum like that or a General forum for that turbo because its not as popular as garrett, greddy, or turbonetics...where people have most of their experience. The different in laggyness IMO cant be that much different if you just stayed GT series....A guy on another forum has a gt35 on his STI that is built and with a T4 twin scroll manifold he spools that sucker up pretty quick.... Heres the link.. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/2e31752a-0d55-4466-be6f-99950126cda7.htm Granted he has a cams that probably do a lot for the turbo's spool but there are some options for RBs that could probably be used to lower spool times. Also here is a link from another site that I go on often http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30241&highlight=hx35 That has pics of the holset and some expereince. Looks like a monster turbo.... Good luck man! (PS how much you sellin that gt30 for?
  12. sick cars and runs as always. I have run in similar traffic--- just shut down a lot earlier-- Always impressed with your ride! -E
  13. I think we might need to start an ignition thread on the different options for both s1 and s2 RB25s to get a title searchable sticky...good info can come from this
  14. thats actually a great first post to read about ignition possibilities.....where can i find more info on the different options because I am sure I will fall victim soon to some failing coils...
  15. one piece front end from the previous owner so it doesnt come off.... I am gonna head to lowes to see what kinda tools i can strum up to get this done...
  16. ya the hood hinges are already gone... I didnt understand how a 24 was having such fitment issues because people were fitting bigger. My main concern is the fact that I cant get the front end off cause its all molded (previous owneres)I will try a sawzaw to open that sucker up and we will see where that puts me... -E
  17. lol ya during the instal a few of my fins bent... but i didnt care cause they are cheap as could be. I just dont want to spend a million bucks to get the rad support grinded out because i cant get my bumper off.. Does anyone have pics of the grind job that they did to fit the piping through? -E
  18. Hey just bringing back an old thread to see what kind of couplers you used so that I can get mine on the road--- I/C is the only thing holding me back... -E
  19. Well I am in a unique position...trying to fit an intercooler in a car that the front bumper may not be removed. Regardless I was able to fit it in after removing hood hinges and cutting a fair amount of the rad support.... however as I fit it in with the couplers I had It seems that there may be more cutting in order.....or not.... depending on suggestions. I do believe that a different coupler may remedy the situation but here are some pictures..... Nevermind the rust or the rough cutting job both are to be addressed as soon as I can mock up a running setup.... I will get pictures with the couplers removed tomorrow so that you can see that they actally sit nicely its just the couplers that extend it past the holes. This is my first time taking on a "fabrication project" so i want to limit the amount of cutting and welding because I am a beginner. It is an XS power 24x4x12 What couplers are you guys using for you I/C setups? Was there any cutting involved other then widening of the holes for your setups? What tool did you use? (I have a reciprocating saw and a rotozip) did you have to cut from the front? FMIC just for reference
  20. where did you get them from? and did you have to retro the ignitor?
  21. hey O/T but any idea on power level? I am about to run the exact same setup.
  22. Answer found on the NICO forums. Quoted...Hope this helps people!
  23. did you do coil packs or are they the stockers?
  24. From User eh? on the NICO club forums....
