  1. Ok guys--- Ive searched but it looks like given the amount of different setups out there everyone's questions are specific. Here is the deal. My clutch needs replacing-- and its time for a complete overhaul. Below is a combination of what I have, what I know and what I need to find out. Setup: RB25det motor w/ RB20det Trans Power Goals: 400RWHP Rb25/rb20 drivetrain parts from what I understand are all interchangable with eachother and the z32 N/A. CLUTCH I am ordering soon: ACT 6 Puck Sprung CLutch ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate Questions: Does the ACT clutch kit come with a throwout bearing? I am callign FR sport today before I order to find out. FLYWHEEL Being that I love having fresh new parts my gut instinct is to buy the fidenza flywheel-- but for 300 bucks-- is there value in that? Should I just take my stocker to get resurfaced? Anyone have ideas? Also, do the stock Z32 flywheel bolts work on this? Or should I go to EBAY for the 52 dollar flywheel bolts for the skyline? THROWOUT BEARING/PILOT BUSHING Phase 2 motortrend has both, however I have to call today to find out availability to see if I can get it by november 7th which ideally is when I want to do the replacement. W/ my setup, what is the proper sized throwout collar? Does the N/A z32 stuff work for this as well? FLUID I have used 2 fluids in the past w/ success. Redline MT90, and GM synchromesh (The legit 12 dollar a quart stuff). The car is a street car... so it rarely sees fast drag shifts or a ton of heat. I just need smoothness. Anyway... If anyone can contribute that would be great--- My car is undrivable until this gets done so urgency plays on this one-- but I dont want to order the parts only 99% sure of what I am doing. Thanks in advance. Eric
  2. So I searched around, and posted on NIco as well but couldnt get a definitive answer--- so I figured why not here as well-- I have an RB25 motor, rb20 trans, and I need a new clutch to handles some beefier power. Does anyone know the right combination of parts so that it fits perfect? or does it not matter with this setup. I am hearing that the splines might be different, and that the sizes of the flywheels may be different and I want to know for sure before i pull the trigger on a setup. Thanks -Eric
  3. I have the same issue on my car--- except the clunk only comes on deceloration once when i let off--- as a result of momentum. It doesnt continue to clunk on decel.... My best assumption is the bushings on the mustache bar--- so I have a new set coming t osee if that helps. Keep me posted on anything you find though... Id be happy to figure it out without having to pull the stupid mustache bar off to press in new bushings. -Eric
  4. thats a cool mod--- looks seamless.
  5. I officially sold my Sti and now rock only my Datsun as a daily--- a true Hybrid will be put to the test. Ha not really though because i live and work in NY but on the weekends this is my only car in jersey-- stored at my parents house of course. -Eric
  6. thanks! I will have to get the car back up to check-- maybe it popped loose when i took it out because I know that I didnt adjsut it -Eric
  7. I stripped my interior and painted it to match the exterior-- however when i unbolted the ebrake to paint behind it, it stopped working when i put it back in. It feels like there is no tension on the line as if there is too much slack. Is there a way to reinstall it that I am missing? How do i get that tension back? -Eric
  8. Yes it is an autopower roll bar. The seats were mounted on the stock location with brackets that are side mounted to the seat and on the bottom have 15 holes so that I can drill them in place then mount the seat afterwards. The only issue is that the seats are in a fixed position and only have a little bit of adjustability on the bracket depending on where you line the holes up. Fortunatley its perfect for me cause im 6' and thats ideal for these seats. -E
  9. Ya pretty consistent with the other ersponses---my old exhaust hung down due to the fact that the trans mount got in the way of the tunnel. Using some creativity with oval piping I was able to gain a significant amount of clearance and it worked out fine.
  10. ya they are--- only thing is I dont turst that local shop cause i cant find them anywhere- I gotta make some calls or find another distributor
  11. between the Nittos and the Mickey Thompsons I might have something pretty good-- Hopefully the nittos will work- I will have to seriously drop the spacer though to get them under the fender but im not too worried about it
  12. I drive it as much as I can. I work in NYC so it sees as much weekend use as the sun will allow-- although i have to be honest-- Ive been builing it for so long that it still isnt much. A lot of downtime. But ive daily driven cars with this interior setup before. Only annoying thing is the residue from the 5 pt harness. As for the stereo, it has more potential. The ports in the boxes behind the seats are not sized properly and the bass is weak. Not to mention the STI subwoofer is just a waste of 10 amps. I can beleive they charge 425 for that thing. This weekend I am going to pull the ports out of the chambers and seal that off properly, and that should give me some really good sound out of those rears. as for the fronts they cant really be boxed with the setup of the dash. so theyll always be weak on the full sound. When I had my 6" bazooka tube in there it sounded REALLY nice. Unfortunately the thing sticks out like a sore thumb now and I have been convinced by my friends who hate my stereo that it should not be in ther.
  13. at 30 bucks for the entire dash, shift boot, switch plate, and speaker covers i didnt care anway-- On the last car I did like this i resprayed every year. I didnt have cloth but im not worried about it.There are products you can buy to help it I am just not sure if it will affect the texture.
  14. All stock operation is retained. The heater is incorporated on the top of the dash. No A/C unfortunately. I was able to tuck a hot rod heater in there pretty nicely-- and I have to say it works like a gem in the cold.
  15. Its on the hanging racks in the back of the store. Not where the felts are located but its a martha stewart or liz claiborne or s omething HGTV ish. I think its for covering pads of seats for like dining room sets.
  16. 276/60! thats huge! I want to keep it lower profile for the twisties---
  17. If you want something cheap and easy---the system that I use is the VR-3 head unit from Target that allows for you to play USB and SD cards like CDs. Just put them in and go. Full shuffle, folder options etc. Then you can get premade speaker boxes for the front and rear and boom. MP3s for cheap. edit: its 79 bucks, and I run 4" speakrs up front, made boxes out of the storage trays and run 5x7s behind the seats, and an STI subwoofer under the driver seat.
  18. Thanks for the contribution-- I actually was going to step down the spacer and run a bigger tire but I cant find anything right now thats not a slick in a 275. The car is going to be a street car that can roll through the twisties with the best of them so the slick is not the best option. Do you have any recomendations? I posted in the wheel and tire forums as well -E
  19. Well as I step up my power and start using my car for what its supposed to be used for I am going to ditch the stretched tire setup and step down the spacer to go with a more streetable, less risky tire. Unfortunately I cant find a streetable tire thats a 275/35/15 other then the hoosier which is just not a street tire. Anyone know the options that are out there for me? I cant seem to find any options
  20. Ya i have the hoses sitting in the passenger seat. Just ran out of time last night before I had to head back into NYC to go back to work. So the car is now sitting in a friends garage (probably slowly leaking coolant) awaiting my rebuild this weekend. We will see
