  1. Dupont sells a primer by the name of DP90, it comes in etching formula for bare metal. It is also a sealer so it is safe to leave exposed.
  2. Are the headers new? If so I would be interested in them. Are you going to Motorsports? Would it be possible to pick them up there? 280Zone@cox.net
  3. The main places to chech for rust are, under the carpet, under the car especially the frame rails, the little "shelf" above the tail lights and under the hatch, check the cowl panel, around wheel wells, front fenders between the door and front tires. Pretty much everywhere else too. A car in primer can mean they are trying to cover something up, it seems strange that someone would go to the trouble to primer a car and not paint it. Ask lots of questions sometimes that is the best way to get to the truth. Makes sure everything they tell you "fits" Good luck
  4. The 5-speed became an option in 1978 here in the states.
  5. Most everything will swap between the 75 and 76 cars, even the doors.
  6. I think he was wanting 30 something thousand. He has several molds and wants to sell everything at once. He told me some of the molds needed some work and he was not sure if he could find all of the molds. It was out of my price range and seemed a bit high for what you were getting. If I were you I would work with your relatives and start from scratch and build the molds you want. It sounds like you have a weealth of information to draw from.
  7. I think that is what a few people are trying to do. This topic has come up several times and that "I'll try making one myself" has been the usual consensus.
  8. I tried buying the mold for over a year now. He is only interested in selling all of his molds, not just one at a time.
  9. I have the original one that AZ Z car used to make the molds from. Mater of fact that is my old black and white car on his site. I have checked into getting some made but it is too cost prohibitive.
  10. I am 6'7" and find the 70-78 Z's the best for leg room. Yes the seat is all the way back. Once they went to the ZX style in 79 the dash is shped wrong for long legs.
  11. What do you guys think of this deal? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2407558094&category=33615

  15. Sorry for stealing your thunder, I was just impressed with the car.
  16. Thought some of you might find this interesting. http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=803411
  17. and fit in the 240's to 280's only. The ZX's dash board was redesign for the someone with shorter legs. I did change out my steering wheel to a smaller diameter but drove it just fine even before that change. I also have a 90 300ZX and had to get the 2+2 to have room to fit.
  18. Actually, the installation of a front spoiler designed for a 240Z onto a 280Z is a bit harder than one might think. I have tried this and after buying the lower valance pieces and turn signals from a 240Z I found that they will not just bolt up to the 280Z. The major problem I found is that the 280Z radiator core support is deeper that a 240Z radiator core support. So even if you resolve the mounting issue (which would require fabrication) you still have the bottom of the core support visible from the front of the car. Not quite the effect I was going for.
  19. D Carrow, email me directly with the items you are waiting for and what you want done to this clown. I have contacts there that might be able to help. 280Zone@cox.net
  20. No ZX master needed, it does take some work to get them bleeded after the insatll though. I wqent through the same thing I thought I had done something wrong. Just keep bleeding.
