  1. I'm using block huggers from hooker on my zz4. The ports might not line up perfect but I do not leak and I'm not really concern about loosing hp. http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/9364/Z-car/3-18-1a.jpg -Adam
  2. Can I jump in? I'm running a ZZ4 from Scoggy Dickens and love the way it has performed. As of last night I have 1010 mile on the motor with no probelms and lots of power. My first engine in my Z was a stock 350 out of my 71 truck (dead now), second engine I built 300hp put in truck and thrird and final the ZZ4. ZZ4 motor is plenty of power for a 2500lb car. -Adam
  3. Thanks That is what I have found out. -Adam
  4. Hello, Mopar fans Could someone tell me the difference between the 440-1 and 440-3 motor? This motor is in a 1978 motorhome. No, I'm not putting it in a Z-car. Any info on this motor would be great. Thanks Adam
  5. Well, two bottles of 104 octane and they way it went. The RV ran great all the way home. To my surprise the RV ran handled great also. This thing has been sitting for two years. Only 65,000 miles Now can any Mopar fans or motor heads tell me the difference between a 440-1 and a 440-3 motor? They take different spark plugs. Thanks again -Adam
  6. Thanks for the replys and the link. And getting the legs apart that is no problem, finding them dam balls is the tuff part. Thanks -Adam
  7. Has anyone ever heard of putting moth balls into the gas tank to help remove water and to up the octane? Little of the subject of Hybrids Just bought an older motorhome with 440 and 1 year old tank of gas. need to drive this beast about 80 miles to home and I do not want to emty the tank and refill. i know balls of a moth in gas would hurt but will it work? Thanks Any info would be great -Adam
  8. Sorry for the comfusion, The soild mount that I'm talking about is the front mount of the lsd, not the mustache bar. The car justs sqweeks when going slow, bumps, when up to speed 60-70 no sqweek. or I should say I cant hear nothing but air flying by, no top. What would be the benifit to making the mustache bar soild? I have replaced all busings with MSD stuff. Oh by the way the Toyota 4x4 brakes work great, had someone pull on in front of me and the car stoped on a dime, boy was I happy. Will i ever be done with this toy, nope always changing. Thanks -Adam
  9. Hello, everyone Been driving the car alott with the new poly bushings and notice sqweeking noise. Sounds like it is coming from the mustache bar. What should the torque be on the mustach bar? The car handles great, hugs the road. I have a little viberation at 70 due to I welded the rear mount soild, but other wise all is smooth. Up to 900 miles on the new motor. Summer is here and this will be the first summer that the car will not be apart. This is a great site and thanks for the help I have received here. Take it zeasy and keep on zeeing. _adam
  10. check out my info on the swap I did. 2" will not work http://www.geocities.com/madmanadam/Z-car/r200swap.html Hope this helps -Adam
  11. Can I jump in late? I now have been running the toyota 4x4 front conversion for a full year. All I can say is they stop ya! When I first remembered I switch brakes it was the fist time they worked and I was Very lucky. No Sqweeal? just stop on a dime, me very happy. I'm running stock drums in rear and Toyota 4x4 front and pushing 300hp+ I hope @ the wheels. I weigh in at 2520 lbs total weight with out driver. I just weigh'd the car at the local way station. 2520 total front half 1260 back half 1240 missing somewhere? but still not bad It loves 3400 rmps Break in time is over. And summer is here thanks adam
  12. I just did the R200 swap and used the same drive line with no problems. I have a 72 and the R200 sat in the same place as the R180. When doing the swap I found out that a Transmission jack works great. -Adam
  13. Yes, the mount and two bad u-joints. It was a pretty easy swap if you have all the right parts. Replacing the bushings on the control arms was a bird. -Adam
  14. The swap is done! All is great the car is a jocket. Took the car for a jolt and boy what a jolt. No more Clunking or banging under the car. -Adam
  15. Thanks, Brad I thought it would be simple. Yes, they did turn opposite of each other. Now I can sleep, may be tomorrow a putttt araound. I just love this site!!!! Keep me posted Adam
  16. If the drive line is locked / in park, should the hubs/half shafts spin? I just finished puting the R200 in and just noticed the drive line does not move but the haft shafts do. Could I have a _____________ Or em I just not seeing something. Thanks Adam
  17. Thanks, sure glad I took one more look. Yes, I did mark before removing. But, they were in the wrong sides. Hum Not me never had them apart until now. All is good now, they both clip. Thank again Adam
  18. Yes, I marked them before taking them out. I checked them three times to make sure I had the correct one in place. What would happen if they were not correct? I have know idea if these shafts have been removed before or not. So they may have been in the wrong the first time. Long one on Pass side? That is what I have. Will check again tonight. Thanks Adam
  19. Hello, all When I removed the the shafts all I had to do was give it a big yank and they came out, but when putting them back in I noticed that one of them was real easy and the other side was tight. To me it seems that the clip inside is not holding the shaft anymore. Will this hurt anything, if the clip is not in gauging, that holds the shaft? Any advise would be great Thanks Adam
  20. Paul, Yes we should hook u p and compare. I'm putting the R200 in tonight if all goes well. Hoping to be up and running by the weekend. Any time would be fine always home or work. -Adam
  21. Sweet, looks real good with all that meat. Keep up the great work, NW rules
  22. Got a Flange, ya hoo Will make an attempt in putting all back together soon. http://www.geocities.com/madmanadam/Z-car/r200swap.html My pain is almost over, for this part at lease.

    WOW!

The first time out, what a joy. I change my car so many time it is the time every time. Turning heads and looking good. Fun in the sun. Spring is here -Adam
  24. The part numbers list here will not work on a R200 with a 2.0 flange. I took all the number to Driveline NW and they could not find one to work. Looks like I will be needing a 2.25 flange. adam
  25. Just got the call from the driveline NW and they are unable to help me with the 2.00 flange. So I guess I need to find and 2.25 flange. Anyone got one? They did say I could probably have a local machine shop make me an adaptor but I would have to shorten my driveline again. This is a pisser, loks like I should just stuff the R180 in and see how long it will last. The only flange they found would use the smaller u-joint from Datsun. Can any one Please help Thanks Adam
