If the fan clutch wasn't disengaging you'd know it! Mine sounded like damn plane taking off by 4k and it happened twice and there was no missing it. I bought a generic fan electric fan kit off eBay the size of the radiator and no more worries.

My triples have always had mechanical advance which I was told was necessary due to lack or proper vacuum.

L28 4bbl EFI build - help/input wanted!

Also if anyone has any insight of a blow thru setup I would really appreciate it. I have the manifold and stock turbo but I will be pretty much winging everything else. I'm sure there are atleast a few build threads with carbs that should be very applicable and even a link would be great. -

Next question is how/if i can to get the timing control activated. It needs one of these apparently http://http://www.summitracing.com/parts/msd-8421?seid=srese1&gclid=Cj0KEQjwmqyqBRC7zKnO_f6iodcBEiQA9T996HxnWaph7nVBK2s-gXx3bXg-a7RKNyWfqm08GAeygm4aAm8n8P8HAQ but i don't know how i would get the MSD part to work on my Mallory distributor http://www.summitracing.com/parts/maa-4563901/overview/year/1977/make/nissan/model/280z Anyone have any experience with this? -

Took the Z out for its first long drive today. A good mix of city and highway out to Poquoson, Va to Tidewater Z Auto Service. The Biggest difference isn't performance wise, Coming from triple webers I wasn't expecting much change there. Its the responsiveness and smoothness. My Z seems like a completely different beast now. Idle is smooth and consistent it needs no warm-up time and highway and city driving were both pleasantly uneventful. I am beyond happy with the changes in everyday drivablity with no loss of performance and the ability to make drastic performance improvements in the near future. -
following to see where this goes. Good luck!

Quick startup and rev. I've been playing with the AFR settings and tweaking the idle. Please excuse the rattle from my loose shifter. z00.wmv quick view of the standard "dash" z01.wmv -

Weather was terrible today but I got to drive the car for the first time. I was overall very pleased. I could tell in different situations it still needs some tuning and that all the kinks weren't worked out but it was smoother at both cruise and idle. I wasn't able to open it up all the way but power feels very similar to my webers in the midrange. Im going to be cleaning the Z up for an upcoming Zcar show in my area and will post more pictures and try to take some more videos. -

It's ALIVE!!! Idle is solid AFR is good through the range and throttle response is crisp and fast. It's really looking good. I want to button everything up before my test drive but everything seems great so far! -

install is coming along nicely should be able to do my first test start today or tomorrow. I haven't tackled the computer controlled ignition timing yet just want to make sure the kit agrees with my L6 first. As far as install goes it has been something I've been able to do in the driveway of my buddies house with common tools save his welder for the 02 bung and having to get the water inlet machined for another sensor (20 bucks) all in all not bad as long as everything goes well today. updates and pictures to follow! -

will do, I ran into a little snag today, The Auto hobby shop doesn't want me to do the install (minor maintenance only...) and I was really counting on having the lift... If i cant find any where local to do the install ill do it at home, i'm just very limited in space and equipment here in Norfolk. -

the MSD unit is self tuning but is also able to be set to certain parameters for fine tuning such as AFR, etc. it costs around 1900 - 2300 but you can leverage amazon to get a good deal if try. it is one of the few kits that should work at the l6 flow/power levels and is setup to work with msds other products. I should start the install either tomorrow or Friday. i will be sure to document and post as i go. i think ill do fuel lines first. -

Well after hunting to get a manifold to get this project moving, a fellow hybridz member stepped in and helped me out. I unpacked my freshly powder coated Bob Sharp Racing intake and immediately bolted up the MSD. -

Man it's hard to read and see a nice Z get totaled like that, good that you walked away. I would pull as many "comparable" examples for base pricing and dig up as many receipts/records/ etc that you can. Any photographs of aftermerket parts along with current price and value will also help. My insurance hagerty has always been great and has an agreed upon value but I would make sure your not letting your hard work go without a fight! Good luck and hopefully you find a good replacement.

Well another week went by of Arizona Z car telling me to call back next week. They seem to have a large order coming in, but I wont have to wait thanks to another HybridZ member. I have a Bob Sharp Racing intake coming to me next week as well as picking up an Exhaust manifold, down pipe, and turbo from another member for a possible turbo addition to come. Still not sure if ill even attempt to put boost to my current engine (seemingly stock l26 other then bolt ons) or if i will wait until i have my l28 built specifically for this (boost) purpose. Either way good news and thanks to you guys for help with sourcing my parts to move forward! -
very intrested GnoseZ, NewZed i have seen that but ive read some poor reviews about the clifford especially peak flow problems i might run into once i put boost to it . GnoseZ please shoot me a price, Bob Sharp signature would be awesome as well!

Bump again. Please someone help me out!

Well if they keep pushing back when new intakes will be available I might have to go that route. In being told next week at the earliest now. Still no luck on the used end either.
