  1. I'll check my stash tonight, if i remember right i have a spare automatic and normal antenna assembly.
  2. Tha is for the info guys and sorry if I kinda jacked your thread PAC-man. I think I'm going to break out the how to restore your datsun book and read over the brakes section and see if I can figure out what to expect.
  3. Not a huge fan of the show but I may have to watch it to see that Z, looks pretty mean.
  4. I appreciate it Luke, I really liked the clean setup of the MSD with much of the wiring and EFI unit located inside the actual body. After weighing all my options and the inputs of everyone I decided it gave me someting out of the norm while also giving the most flexibility for whatever I want in the future be it boost, nitrous, hell I could even get a small block and bolt it on there. I'm really looking forward to getting this thing on and seeing how it changes the dynamics of my current motor.
  5. Parts are coming together, EFI kit and return system are here. Now all I need is the manifold AZ car is out of new ones until next week hopefully I can find a good used one incase they take longer.
  6. Jon, thanks for the quick response I just want to clarify as I’m not too familiar with brakes, are you saying you think I need a new Master cylinder and to drain the brake booster? again I appreciate it if you can dumb it down or point me in the right direction I’d like to tackle it myself it all possible but again the personal knowledge on my part is lacking.
  7. sounds good, I was really hoping to get a positive response as my job (US Navy) takes me away a lot and it would be nice to have a good shop to take the Z to while I'm away for jobs id rather not handle myself. I’ll be sure to pass along your name when I make an appointment.
  8. Has anyone had any dealings with them? I found them on Facebook and have been following them since, I'm interested in having a Z centric mechanic give my car a once over and tell me what they think and possible get some servicing done. 9. I think i might have the same situation. After a long winter snooze i took the Z out and immediately noticed i had almost no brakes. Sure enough the front reservoir was completely empty. I still have no idea where the fluid went. After refilling i have taken the car on 5 or 6 separate short drives over about 3 months and haven't noticed any more fluid loss but the brakes are still more spongy than id like. Mine is also similar in that a quick pump or two firms them right up but quickly dissipates after releasing the brake.
  10. i may be interested down the line if the price is right.
  11. Well the MSD unit is on its way, I decided to pony up for the return kit as well to avoid some of the issues that seem to be present even with the pulse width modulated fuel pump. Apparently under certain conditions (hot summer days and the car is in Virginia..) the system is unable to compensate for the lack of cooling that the circulating fuel would provide vice a dead head system. All I am waiting for is for Arizona Z cars to get some more intakes in stock (they are saying early next week) or for one to come up for sale sans carb and a free weekend.
  12. Haha just noticed, sometimes you miss things when you're on your phone!
  13. I'll try and post the video I just made yesterday of my triples. I like them and love the sound but I'm switching to efi myself just to try something new and possibly turbo down the line. Like they said you will need supporting mods to get the most out of them but I've never had any drivability issues or anything. I have a bone stock 2.6 with msa headers and MSD spark box. This video was made in 30 degree weather, no choke, a couple minutes after cranking and it had sat for a couple weeks with all the snow we've had I didn't rev it hard because it was kind of cold still but you can get the idea. I love my Z but it's all I know so my opinion is not nearly as informed as most here. trim.70EBFF52-FCC3-484A-8B60-F22E494DBBFE.MOV
  14. intrested in a arizona or possibly other 4 barrel intake manifold, just let me know what you have. possible trade for my triple webers plus cash from you for the difference.
  15. haha i really dont, the last part im assuming is in reference to the MSD kit being totally self adjusting, both fuel and spark but after reading the HOTROD, Car craft, and Jeep Offraod tests on both N/A and Boosted V8s and and inline sixes im guessing that it does what it says, much as the comments on amazon and other retail outlets state it does, but can you calirfiy?
  16. i really like the triples myself looks and performance wise i,ve just never gotten around to learning the finer points of them and i figured since i had two sets and im personally more intrigued by EFI why not let them pay for my swap. MSD claims the atomic kit is complety self learning once youve inputted the basics such as engine size, basic cam profiel, etc and will even adjust to boost later on, that and its flexibilty engine size and power wise was what really sold me on it. its said to be a pretty painless experience and most of those comments were found on various discussion boards. ill be sure to keep you guys updated, hopefully this will give another option to those of us who want another way forward with a felxible EFI soultion.
  17. If I decide to do any cam work ill look into Robello for sure thanks for the hands on info on their work. The TBI through the AZ intake boils down to the fact that Meqasquirt isn’t something I’m knowledgeable in or frankly interested in and the ease of the MSD EFI kit along with its great reviews intrigues me. I think the setup would look very clean and aesthetically I can’t say the same for the ZX setup and the webs of hoses it brings along. Lastly I can’t say that having something that will almost assuredly standout from the crowd doesn’t come into the equation either. Again I know it’s not the most economical or even best overall solution necessarily but it intrigues me and has me excited so I think I’m going to go with it. That being said I whole heartedly appreciate the inputs and advice, even if my not choosing to follow them leads you to think otherwise.
  18. So I'm thinking after some discussions and looking at what I want from car at trying out the Arizona Z 4bbl intake but instead of the normal 390 carb using MSD's atomic EFI. The EFI is touted to work from 100ci to 500ci be it N/A or boosted and seems like it might let me run a similar setup as 280zex while cutting out the need to worry with carbs and letting me move into this cars fuel system into technology from at least my lifetime. I'm not hoping for the cheapest, most advanced or best anything really; just something that WORKS and works to my liking. As a street car I don't see how this system will not meet my needs other than being a bit pricy, but I figure my two sets of triples will help cover the cost. Any thoughts? I've seen some tidbits from OZconnection who seems to be the closest to what I'm going for but I'm excited for it to get warm so I can start making progress. I think I'll start N/A as I get some turbo parts together and build my 2.8 motor into something more suited to boost and maybe try my 2.6 at stockish boost levels if I can get everything together turbo parts wise before I'm done with the 2.8.
  19. just payed 600 for one in as good if not better condition.
  20. I understand you views on the builder not seeing an upside but this site has a wealth of knowledge on so many subjects applied to the Z car format that i was surprised to seemingly find a subject that hadn't been discussed to death (4bbl TBI). I was kind of hoping to guinea pig more then anything. I for one am not nearly as experienced as your self or so many others here so doing a build thread is as much out of necessity and for the upside of getting the constructive criticism and not having to learn the hard way as it is to log the progression of my own builds. The Patton Machine kit looks extremely interesting especially if i can keep my current cannon manifold. I was referring to a complete setup like this http://www.quickfueltechnology.com/quick-fuel-injection/qfi-master-kit-black-diamond.html which seems very similar but is probably to big for a N/A Z motor running the Arizona Z car manifold. I appreciate the links and i think I'm going to contact Patton as they seem to have experience with smaller triple L6's instead of single carb v8s. looks like i may also need to get some information on Mega-squirt as the Patton kit uses a GM ECU and I'm not sure if that will play nice if i decide to go forced induction later on.
  21. I've been looking at doing this recently but have been unsuccessful in finding any threads or builds with a TBI setup on a ArizonaZcar intake. Any one have any good links I might of missed? If not, I might guinea pig myself, it seems like least expensive non-stock EFI setup you could build. Lots of future potential for tuning, FI, nitrous etc...
  22. keeping an eye on this and your other projects.
  23. Pac_Man/seattlejester , I really appreciate the inputs. I have the how to modify book around here somewhere and I'm sure I could stand to go through it again. I'm going to move ahead with the N42 and see if I can find a reputable shop in the Norfolk/Hampton roads area to do the work. This thread is as much for me to keep a log of the build as it is to get the communities inputs and hopefully inform me of anything I might of missed or could improve. There's a great deal of knowledge and expertise that I'm hoping will help me along the way with my first engine build.
