Hey guys. I have an 1981 zx master and booster. My original 1972 240z booster's diaphram just went out. Can I swap on both the booster and the master from the zx? Its a two resivoir master but, the booster looks much larger.

Engine begins sputtering when braking out of no where!? Even if Rpms are high the engine begins sputtering and dieing. Brakes are harder to depress and if I try to rev to keep the car from dieing it just sputters. Since the brakes are boosted via my arizona manifold im thinking I have a leak some where? or maybe the master cylinder is bad. I have a 280zx na master in the garage, so I suppose i will start reading on the swap. Any help greatly appreciated. marcus

Hello. 1972 240z R200 & 5spd. out of 1982 na 280zx. 280x parts car. Im going to strip the car for what I need at the salvage yard to take the tranny and 5spd. Car has blown head gasket. but tranny and diff are good (drove car around town with sealant). Any super advice or heads up I should know about before I head into No internet land to the salvage yard and do the Swap?! That is...ANy info not included in the FAQ page which I have properly rehearsed... I also have a Hyperflex kit Im going to attempt to install while the rear is apart. Thanks in advance for any heads up. Expect pictures when painted, installed, and finished!! Hopefully I wont break down and snatch up the ex figure 8 built 350 sitting in the salvage garage but, if I do expect pics of that too

I would use what zr8ed is using on his air dam. Ill try to find the link. he makes some really smooth lines. A plasma cutter is also Ideal. But I commonly Use my dremel with a small (1-2") diameter cut off wheel. Its flexibl and makes some pretty smooth cuts.

my z makes 200 miles round trips about 3 times a month. My biggest problem is the exhaust. Idk how bad l28et's are for fumes or if they are any better on the lungs than the l24. Best advice I suppose I could give. Angle the exhaust, seal the hatch, silicone the tail lights and fix all rust holes in the floor boards. If you feel dizzy pull over! Best of luck brother. On a second note, Id make sure you're driveline is well oiled (tranny and diff) thats often overlooked and I learned the hard way.

thanks sam, actually I traced it down to a leak near the linkage. Im going to bleed the system and replace the slave this weekend. I dont think its rust because the car is my dd. Thanks for the input man!
