  1. Those zstore fans look nice, but will they fit on a 280z radiator? I thought they were close to the same? I saw this also: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360084819001&_trksid=p2759.l1259
  2. Maybe if I would have read a little harder. I should have had 50 degrees instead of 60, and falling edge instead of rising. Got it started without map sensor hooked up and still some ports in manifold I need to plug. http://s212.photobucket.com/albums/cc103/tech1987/?action=view&current=IMG_0364.flv
  3. I verified my wheel/vr sensor in relation to Dereks photo and it looks exact. Here is a tooth diagnostic. Im still having trouble with the resets of ms also, direct fire cop just causes that much more trouble. Going to run the COP trigger wires separate through another loom in the firewall, hope that solves it. It sounds like something is WAY off to make it not even attempt to start. I do get a lot of backfires though while testing some settings. At least I am learning a lot about MS and these trigger wheels.
  4. Ya the screenshot was just from the MSextra page. I'm assuming that is where my problem is, so I posted it instead of trying to explain it.
  5. I have everything in place for "starting" the car, except I can't figure out the timing on the crank wheel (a little new technology for me ). Tooth #1 angle set to 60 degrees in MSextra trigger wheel setup. Would this be correct? This is how my hub is setup:
  6. I put them just to align it, and to tell you the truth, they didn't fit well. I would have left them in, but they didn't screw in completely straight. (the hub would need to be filed down for the head of the screw)
  7. You might have trouble getting the right timing if your shaft is off too much, but 1 tooth you can "maybe" get away with.
  8. You bought it? I think its free. But it runs on java and crashes on my tuning laptop. Has problems with the Usb to serial. I use it for the tooth decoder only, but i'm sure it is great if it didn't crash
  9. The tach should work exactly as it does on the car now. Just have to bring the tach signal to MS. The idle valve "should" work, I think I saw a few people using them before, if not there are a million options for MS.
  10. Its on a piece of compressed wood, and so is the relay. I found its the spark ABC that is causing the issues, as they were running along the power wires for MS, when I moved them it only resets once in a great while, maybe if I jacket those wires we will have it solved. Also, is it safe to run the fuel pump using the "FP wire" from the relay board? Or should I run a separate power wire from the battery with a relay?
  11. I wish I could help you, but this is the reason I moved away from distributors!
  12. Thats exactly what I needed to know! Also do you use sealant on any of the pieces? I know you don't need it on the oring parts, but on the others? Liquid Teflon work? or do I need sealant?
  13. Yep exactly what you said. What are the plugs called, I can't seem to find them on summit.
  14. No just from the existing metal lines in the engine bay, they are just the stock barb. They work fine, but I was having a problem with my lines cracking (must be the weather here) so I want to eliminate them.
  15. Takes a deep breath..... I was going to mount directly on the rail, not sure exactly what to do. Any reason I shouldn't? I can think of a few now. Maybe I should mount it on the firewall and just use as DeleriousZ said: rubber hose to the barb on the front of the fuel rail from rail 1/4" npt to -6an to a braided line (female both ends) then to another -6an to -6an to a braided line then.... to -6an to -6an oring to FPR and then the same thing going to the return. and a plug on the bottom. Now to make it tougher, how can I get all braided line instead of rubber? Thanks for the help guys!
  16. I can't seem to figure out how to go from my pallnet fuel rail (1/4NPT) to -6AN on my aeromotive FPR. I bought what I thought was correct fittings, but after reading some things, I guess you need o-ring fittings on the regulator side? Now i'm very confused, I do have some -6an oring to -6an (regular) fittings, and some -6an (regular) to 1/4NPT fittings. Summit has tons of fittings, but I can't seem to find a oring -6an to 1/4NPT, would I need to go from an to an then an to npt? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EAR-916106ERL/ I guess you don't put sealer on the oring parts, but you do on the non oring parts? I was going to put braided all the way from the metal lines, through the rail, back to the metal, but after this confusion, I just want it hooked up to test Any help is appreciated.
  17. When moving MS to its location (under passenger seat) there is so much noise on the RPM signal that it does not even spark correctly and just resets a ton. I'm thinking the Spark A B C need to be separate from the VR sensor signal, or both separate from everything else. Other then that, it works great!
  18. Here is the first spark from 1 plug at least. It was very interesting wiring the coils, I installed the caps that are recommended which made the difficulty go way up. Hopefully I can finish all the coils tomorrow and get the fuel system working.

    MSnS Timing

I agree, only use MS to fine tune the timing if you can. You should be able to find TDC using the 0 mark on the pulley/timing mark.
  20. Had some major issues today with no RPM signal from Vr sensor, fixed it (bad solder joint apparently) and were back in business. COP wire time now. It looks as if noone has done this yet, hope its as easy as it looks.
  21. Any help on which coils / injectors to fire in batch? I have Spark A B C, and i'm thinking just doing 1-4 2-5 3-6? The injectors I did the same way, except 1-3-5 2-4-6 style?
  22. I went special to get one of these fans, and i'm GOING to make mine fit! Will post once I get pissed, and get fed up with it not fitting.
  23. Finally installed and looks as it should work great! If I can get my Taurus fan to work!
  24. Thanks for the info guys. Here is my modded ms board, with a shot of my starting my wiring in the bay. I did +5v pullup, which was a little more complicated then ground switching, so we will see if it works out for me. Notice the absence of the dissy!!!
