  1. There was coolant before you changed the gasket, and after?
  2. Are any mods to the MS required to run the coils?
  3. I thought LS1 coils had built in ignitor? Trying to figure out if its worth installing LS1 coils on MS or just sticking with EDIS instead? I just saw 8 coils go for $75 on ebay, missed them!
  4. I have seen it done, but some say they don't line up exact, some say radiator sticks out, etc. I plan on putting the valance on, or can i get away with a just a early z airdam such as: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7AD1/50-1401 I tried to search for the differences, but I can't find much. I would love examples, and love pictures! I like the look, but mostly the way the signals can be seen by the side. thanks everyone! ps, i plan on putting in a big IC, will that matter?
  5. Did you end up getting that IC? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__CXRacing-Intercooler-27x12x3-Civic-S13-3000GT-Mustang_W0QQitemZ140293339772QQadiZ2865QQadnZCarQ20Q26Q20TruckQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item140293339772&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A64|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 Looks like the same one for still cheap!
  6. I got grade 8 studs at the hardware store, worked great. Make sure to put anti-seize (just in case, will prob burn off anyway)
  7. That turbo was new in 1970, now its covered with inches of dust!
  8. Thats the response I was expecting. What is a good size for my setup?
  9. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p3907.m29&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D1&item=270315493411&category=33742&viewitem= I'm sure you might have seen this, been around for a while. Anything good or bad about this setup? Looking for 350-400hp, turbo will be a hy35, not sure what size FMIC I need, or where to get it, or if I should get a kit, or try and make the piping myself. Thanks in advance for the advice.
  10. Looks good, BB turbos do last longer, but I've seen a lot of water cooled turbos on buicks and they were junk (no offense). Hope yours lasts longer then the Hy35s ! And I hope my Hy35 don't fry! Can't wait to see your gt35r in action.
  11. Not mech if its fuel injected. But I cleaned mine by putting bolts/nuts/shot inside it with solvent, and shook the hell out of it. It got a lot of the deposited rust out before you coat. I had other problems and had to open the tank and fix some, and welded shut, but POR is great to coat the inside.
  12. Have you checked fuel pressure? Still sounds like a timing issue, have you used a light on that also?
  13. Looks almost like a wannabe Porsche I like the primer t-type on the right
  14. FSM for 82 280zx says 101-116 ft-lb
  15. pop off the valve cover and you can usually see if a valve is stuck, but if there is good compression, doubtful. If the lifter was not working properly you would hear a clicking from it not pumping up.
  16. Where is a source for the lifters? Are the lifters the same for all heads except the hydraulic heads?
  17. if not valve, maybe core is plugged, i had this problem on a taurus and flushed core out and it was fixed.
  18. No need to upgrade injectors on stock computer and if your running stock turbo/PSI then you will be fine.
  19. Update: New injectors did the trick. Runs like new, just need to do a little timing adjustment and we should be golden. Now I can finally start getting it primed for paint.
  20. If you are getting good compression (which you are, just maybe a little warn out rings), i would check to make sure that all the injectors are working properly also and not dirty. Mine had bad injectors (very bad pattern and streaming) and it was making it very hard to start and poor performance at low rpms.
  21. Plug in an inline FP gauge, and under load does the FP drop to a very low rate? I took my whole engine apart before checking tank (lesson learned).
  22. Also check the fusable link area. Its a pretty simple system, so i'm sure its either a bad wire (fried from the wrong polarity) or bad connection as stated ^^.... I had problems starting with a bad fusable link.
