This is what I have been told.....Locate on the engine, where the top radiator hose connects to the engine. wiggle the temperature sender connector. most likely it has been sitting a while, and the connections have corroded a little bit. try that and start your engine. This should fix the problem you are havinng with your car. "NOTE" ( I would not recomend doing this while the car is running, your hand will be too close to the fan blade on the engine, and you can get seriously injured.)
  5. heres an update.,..........After I replaced the spark plug that I accidently broke off when I was checking for spark, put the old cap and rotor on, and cranked the engine.......WAMO it starts right up, but as i replaced the plug wires on the cap i think i put two in the wrong place, so now it runs but like crap. I need to find a diagram with a picture of both the cap, and the engine, showing which wire from the cap goes to which spark plug on the engine. Time for more searching right now . Oh and I gues a few people were right i think it was just VAPOR LOCK

  7. IMO buy the parts that will make it work and be done, you will burn a ridiculously large amount of time fabricating mounts etc.. where you could have the super sweet infinity machining ones. how much would it cost for that?
  8. I was lucky enought to drive my cousins pontiac GTO with the LS2 in is, which I believe is 400hp/400trq. Ever since then, I've wanted a high hp car 300-600hp It is really fun
  9. what is that digial guage where the speeometer should be? Is it PRND?
  10. If I wanted to run a little nitrous with 10, 15, and 20 lbs of boost, how much nitrous do you think the motor will be able to handle (SAFELY) in each of those boost levels. I am thinking at least a 50 shot maybe a 100 shot if I run 5 lbs of boost, but as i will say again I am unsure how strong this motor is. Is it really as bulletproof as I keep hearing? I really don't know how strong this motor really is, and I want at least 500hp out of it and I will be happy.

  12. I was wanting my engine to sit in the engine bay just like this one. It looks far enough back to the firewall for the weight transfer to even out
  13. synthtk I like how the engine sits in that car, I am curios what engine mounts are you using, or did you custom make them? I am thinking of doing a rb26dett swap in my 280z, and that is how I want my engine to sit. were you able to use the stock driveshaft too? And is that the stock radiator I see? I was under the impression that the stock radiator would not cool the engine, and cause it to overheat.

  16. I should have asked this question better. If i use the stock 280z driveshaft will the engine be set back to the firewall, and lowered for better handling? Or will it be foward, and up with the z31 engine moungts, because I plan on making my own to get it where i want it. Thats what I am really worried about the engine being too hig, and not set back far enough.
  17. after the tab broke off, i replaced it with the old one, and the car would not restart at all. it would crank, but would not start. I do recall it did sputter once when i tried to restart it, but thats pretty much it.
  18. so i could run up to 25 with all stock internals, and I don't have to worry too much about the stock pistons giving out, or breaking.
  19. that would definately P me off. can you remember if you were outside of a buisness with a camera try and go back to see if they have any video when you were there
  20. two years in a auto mechanics class and before than 7 or 8 years helping my grandpa pull engine take then apart rebuild them, reinstall them (since I was 8)
  21. ok thanks. I will try and post friday or saturday when i am at my dads with an update. Do you think it would take more than an hour for the fuel to cndense back into liquid?
  22. when this swap is being done, can you use the stock driveshaft, or do i need to measure, and get one made special? How is the accelerator linkage redone? is it a cable linkage, or does it still use the bar linkage on the 26dett?, and one last thing, are you able to leave the clutch pedal like it is, or do you have to modify it in order to work. I am trying to get some good searchinig done on these questions so please don't say use the saearch...... The search button really is my friend on a lot of things, and issues so far, so less and less of my simple questions that i wanted to ask have not been in new posts because of the search.
