that was what i was thinking it was.....i cant spen 100.00 at the parts store for a new one right now. so now all i have to do is find someone on hybridz that has one they don't need anymore.

ok I have the voltage readings from the injector connectrors. each connector read the same thing .22 to .32 volts so I am starting to think it was the efi relay instead of the resistor or the ecu....because i think it would be highly unusual for the ecu, or the droping resistor to make the injectors all at once. the only thing that would do that would be the efi relay........does anyone agree?

i am currently using the bosch platinum/iridium +4 and they gave me a noticeable increase in power.

i don't know if this should be good or not....after i took the efi relay cover off I turned the key in the on position, and the relay heats up a bit, and kinda burned my finger a little...is this normal or not? I know relays get hot but i'm really at a loss right now. but if it really isn't the dropping resistors, i think it would be good to have an extra one just in case it finally goes out on me. I am really learning everyday about this car it is the start of many z's that I plan on owning.

i was driving the z the other day, and then all of a sudden the car dies while i was driving. I pulled off to the side of the road thinking my battery cable came loose again.....but it didn't. So I went back into the car car to try and start it but it wouldn't start. So my next thought is it has vapor lock again. so i go to the gas station and put a bag of ice on the fuel rail waited 20 minutes. tried to start the car again, but it still wouldn't start. At this point I am at a loss of what this problem could be. I know for a fact that the 6 injectors are not firing at all these are brand new injectors with less than 2000 miles. I pulled the cover off of the efi relay to see if it was still clicking, and it is, so it is either the computer, or the ballast resistor. I can not get a new resistor for the injectors anywhere the dealer doesn't even have one. Is there a better upgrade from these ballast resistor? or do i have to hope to find one some where? everyones help is greatly appreciated.

thats exactly how I was when I got my first car for free....I abused the sh** out of it till the transmission went out. I bout my z, and the only thing I have done in it is to see how much it will take before the back of the car starts to slide..In dry conditions, and in wet. and I haven't done anything else in it after all I built it, and its my baby.

I think that would just be enought to buy the rb26dett engine, and trans. there should be enough left over for the custom made driveshaft, and enough for some steel to make your own engine, and transmission mounts. I hope you have a welder, if not they sell cheap welders at menards, and lowes. A custom driveshaft is needed, for when you set the engine where you want it, and if you use the srtock engine mounts on the car the engine will be too far foward, and you will have to mount the radiator on the other side of the core support. This is the information that I have gathered on my own so far for the rb26dett swap

I'm not an electrical genious, but I dfon't think that is a good thing. check the fuses to see if they are the correct amp rating, maybe the headlight fuse is too high an amp, and in result it is burning the switch. -
I would go with the rb26dett engine, but thats just me. Right now I am leaning towards the rb26dett with the 5 speed manual rb25det transmission. Why because the stock internals can withstand up to 600HP, nitrous, and up to 25psi of boost. here is a link to the questions, and answers I have asked about the rb26dett engine. I hope this helps. Do your research on this engine, the rb26dett engines are always on ebay, and you could trade, or sell the rb26dett tranny that you get with it if it comes with the engine. Try and get the engine with the complete engine wiring harness attatched to it still (makes it easier to wire in the new car). so far the engine trans together with ecu, and wiring harness costs a little under 4,000.00 dollars. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=134060&highlight=rb+engine

I just watched fox news lastnight, and they showed hypermiling, and it got me interested in it. I have heard moth balls , and or pure acetone can increase your gass mileage greatly.

I have a Pioneer head unit right now. Here are a few ideas forr you to think about. And my knees really don't hit the speakers, so you won't have to worry about that. Plus they sound great right there.

yeah pretty much, but i guess you have to put about 7 -10 layers of fiberglass down, to make it strong.

I put two 5' 1/2" speakers in my caenter consol they are where it curves to the dash. they fit nicely, and sound great

heres how it was done. after you are done fiberglassing you want to sand with either 60,-80 grit sandpaper, until it is a little smoother, then to what I understand you apply body filler to the low spots, and sand that down, then use a higher grit sandpaper to get the scratches out, then you wet sand (optional) with 800 grtit, then prime, and paint. I've been researching this online for quite sometime now, and I am starting my own sub box.

Whoses car is that, I would like to see more pics of the car. mostly standing at the rear, with the hatch open, so I could see the subwoofer setup, along with the amp.

thats alsa corps chrome paint. I love how it looks on cars, but I don't know how legal it really is.

Dude I have been shocked a few times by the ignition system before, and that isn't the best feeling in the world....on top of that i think it could kill you if your not carefull. Be safe, and use a spark plug wire puller. it reduces the chance of shock. Also check you timing.

on my 280z there were about 8 holes above the rear bumper that held on a rubber filler that extended from the car to the bumper. I was wondering if those are the holes that are supposed to be used in order to attatch the type 3 msa rear bumper?

that would have been my second thought is a vacuum leak, or your temperature sender could be bad. a new one is about 15 bucks at the auto store.

is a 160 degree thermostat too cold to run on a 75 280z? I can get 4 thermostats a 160, 170, 180, and a 190 thermostat.
