Srry man i just thought you were tearing it apart with words and i hold a special place in my heart for the CA18DET as it was my first JDM powerplant ever used in one of my own cars (1989 240sx).. Nad your right i went back and looked it up.. DR30 it was... Reason i said i wasnt sure but was too lazy to look it up =) -PSi

I think i just said what you did in a more constructive way... And i dont mean that mean but it seems you posted what i did just in a negative way and a more mathmatical way... =)

Seems a bit odd to use a set of T3's on a 6.0 V8 but it would work... Keep in mind though the Z31 turbo ran out of steam pretty easy, and as far as the 3.0 = 1x T3 isnt really the math its more in depth as car manufaturers never had a clue to begin with... Ive made a living for 8 years now off turbos and i expect to make a living off them for about 4 more years before i actually finish my degree in mehcanical science and design (in short ill be a machinist with a half ass engineering degree) turbos are strange machines they almost have souls and some like you more than others... Get to learn how to read a turbo map and base your decision off of that not off what "X" manufacturer did... Finally My oppinion for a small boost application you couldnt go wrong with twin GT30R's for a medium boost application get twin GT35R's and for the absolute power drop the twins and go with a Garrett PHX42 Check out www.cheapturbo.com (Also known as phoenix turbo) The Later turbo is actually an NHRA legal turbo and can support around 850-1000HP...

In all fairness to the CA most parts are cross referenced over to the CA16DE that came in the Pulsar NX years ago, and the CA was used for way longer than 2 years it started in the S12 silvia (RWD 200sx in our market) many years before the S13 was introduced not to mention many other cars... Kinda like the FJ20ET was originally in the first turbo skyline R31 i believe but dont feel like looking it up) before it showed up in the early S12 silvia SE (JDM) -PSi

I really agree with all of this info and im leaning on the RB.. Honestly i was thinking the same thing meaning i cant afford the RB25 at the moment i can afford to do an SR KA RB20 or CA , im bored with KA's and SR's just arnt my thing.. that left the CA and RB... I figured ive tuned some CA's to push over 300hp easy but they are revers not TQ monsters, and this is what drew me to the KA tons of TQ... With that being said, i figured if i went with the RB20 the RB25 swap would be easier later on down the road..... Im still not sure.... Im getting the entire CA or RB motorset (harness, ecu, trans, mafs, engine, and actually the RB i may be geting comes with an extra head (the importer is a friend of mine we have done work for over the years and he had an extra from a bad block) This is the worst part of swaps.. The options.... Thanks for the input though guys and thanks for ACTUALLY reading my post =) -PSi

Whats in the picture looks more like an add than a pop-up... Ive never had this problem and i dont even run antivirus software as ive never had a virus i couldnt isolate in about 40 seconds.. <-----car/computer nerd... I may be wrong but IE6 was replaced with IE7 for the reason of corruption and over exploitation (meaning they stopped making patches for it that normally come in your Microsoft updates every so often) upgrade to IE7 and do a system update via MS website and you may get better results with HZ.org Not to mention IE7 is much easier on resources and VM than IE6 as its a lot like firefox with tabs therefore only needing to remember one window internally and realizing (reading) html /dhtml /xml every time you switch tabs... Dunno im not trying to knock your "computer savvy" im just trying to help solve your issue... Also how much porn do you actually look at? I hate to say it like that but when someone does a google search on a machine for say "big titty ho's" google logs this and remembers it and this is actually how google ads work not just gathering info with spiders from crawling the site they are on but logging the searches done by the iduvidual machines.... Im not calling you a perv as i love porn, im not sure what else the internet was invented for other than to play games, talk ♥♥♥♥ on car forums and look at porn.... =) -PSi

Atn: read this first or risk being tarred and feathered!
PSi replied to Bob_H's topic in Nissan RB Forum
=) How much beer is involved in the swap? And to what point of enebreation (SP?) do you call it a nite on the swap? Is there a certain brand I should be drinking? These would be my only questions... Ive read all of the threads youve made and im not saying it seems easy but ive done a few strange swaps... GJ on the writeups and ill do a digital bitch slap to anyone you feel gets out of line... =) -PSi -
Ive been told but never really measured that the stanza / altima KA tb's were smaller than the S13/S14 TB's but like i said im not sure i just remember reading it on a nissan forum somewhere... -PSi

Wheel Show! Post your pics of you wheels
PSi replied to k3werra's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I was looking at these on ebay yesterday if i dont get the ssr's off yahooauctions.jp ill prolly pick thise up for now till i get the SSR's i want... -PSi (im a total JDM wheel freak) -
I havent decided which id like to use in my 280zx, I looked into doing a Single cam KA-T setup but im bored with KA's and i want something a bit more rare... This being the RB section i would expect the answer to be RB across the board but this forum surprises me with level headed ppl every day ( i guess cause not a lot of kids can afford what we do) Cost isnt really an issue cause CA or RB is gonna be expensive to swap into a S130 ... I just want pros and cons from everyone ..... =) -PSi Im not really interested in other engines as ive allready narrowed the 2 that i like to tune in S13/14's (I come from a 240sx background) But i myself am leaning towards the RB20 just for the tq.

Caszboy any realtion to the caz with the ca18det rhd S13? He lives in VA beach i think... I used to live out and VA beach and hang out with most of those guys, i helped his brother do a lot of work on bobbie's (ZsweetdreamZ) TTZ just reminded me of him with the name... (chris i believe was his name) -PSi

Question on top of his question since were talking heads, Ive just gotten into the L series and was wondering if maybe this is his issue as well... When taking most nissan heads off you have to de-tq in a patern (as per FSM) as not to warp the head. Is this true with the L series? To tie my question in with yours maybe this could have been an issue when you took it off you warped the head? -PSi

LMAO!! the whole time i was reading this im thinking " if this guy actually goes one of these oddball swaps hes gona spend a tone of money anyway" ... Its like buying the hybrid civic my sister just bought and bragged she was spending less money than me and my KA-T 240sx (my daily). Shes paying and arm and a leg for the car and its still just a civic (civic = bottom of the line honda) Her resale value actually deplete's faster than a conventional gas emgine due to reliability and the older it gets the closer you get to the batteries needing to be change (which is actually 1/6 of the cost of the car brand new) we also figured out it would take her 8 years after paying the interest of the loan to actually gain money in better gas milage. The average new car owner only owns a car for 4-6 years depending on the area they live in... SO i digress, IMO worrying about legalities and gas mileage while trying to out perform a stock RSX Type S in a 20+ year old car is rather silly, the SR and KA both get great gas milage even the L28ET gets good gas milage and all three are easily capable of 250 RWHP the cheapest way to go would be with an L28ET then SR then KA (as the KA is not a tubro engine and will need to be partially built for reliability) -PSi

Ive done a few swaps into mid 90's SE'r's with SR20VE's but never boosted one.. very finicky engines imo.. I dont want this to sound harsh but i get a lot of "X" engine sux cause it has these problems etc. And the only real reason ive come up with this is "care and work expirience" Ive built a turbo GA16DE that was more reliable than the stock POS GA16DE, if that makes sense. The QR is under engineered, but doesnt mean its not engineered enough.. Ive been working with KA's and SR's like crazy for the last 3 years due to the huge drifting boom, and the SR breaks more than any "over engineered" engine ive ever worked on its archaic head design (that flows like ish). The KA-T is the beter choice... Ring lands are the only problem ive ever see with the KA and thats easily solved.... All in all im doing it cause i want something different not to mention its going to be for the fun factor and who in the world doest think amazing tourqe isnt fun? the QR25DE has more tq than any 4 banger ive ever driven... =) We will see... Im still trying to get a frontier tranny, till then i wont be able to see if it will even work... -PSi

=( I sold one of these still running for a few hundred bucks cause it was taking up room in my shop (an unpaying customer's car) didnt realize it was worth anything...

Can i get a picture of that KA valve cover from the top down? Im a KA guy as well as a L28ET guy and id really like to have a picture of a really long KA valve cover in my garage... Great work.. I remember projects like this when i built my CA20DET Wasnt as extensive but still completely custom.. CA20E block, Custom crank girdle, CA18DET head with CA16DE cams, B20VTEC pistons with A modified 4g63 rod and the the usual boost hte hell out of it and sell it... =) Fun isnt it? -PSi

DSM guys tend to be DIY guys to the very end.... Good looking work... If i didnt allready have a miller id go pick that tig up, cheap tig welders are ok no moving parts, cheap migs tend to break and suck do to wire feeders and nozzles... -PSi

It is... I went to japan for about 2 years before my son was born just before the major drifting sweep came thru the U.S. and i saw a lot of guys doing this prepparing to go drifting, after a few questions about what drifting was and how to do it, i started asking questions about the cars.. I noticed a car that looked very nice with rivets and stitch welding i asked abut the rivets and was told this in a nutshell.. "The rivets look great and add a little more support to the stitch welds but its mainly to make the car look cool" I'd say that the rivets were just a cosmetic thing unless this guy had no idea what he was talking about but guys that tune "laurels" out there tend to know what they're doing. =) -PSi

S130 specific website - checking Interest...
PSi replied to xenonxiii's topic in S130 Series - 280ZX
Allready kinda doing it but id like to go in on it with ya... Ive started very cautiously, if interest gains and the site becomes a tool ill devote some money to it... (Link is pic in Sig) Im not non profit though. Im not trying to make money off of the users im just using the site to get some of my new endeavors out there. Ive been designing and fabricating quality parts for 240sx's for years now and im looking to get into the 280zx market, as i have recently picked one up as a project and decided to start making parts for it after seeing the amazing potential it has.. Xenon if your interested in promoting both ill help ya out... Just shoot me a PM.. =) -PSi *EDIT* ive actually allready added a link to your site... =) Looks nice. -
I checked out some of your stuff, manufatured or fabbed? Regardless some good looking stuff, if you like ill host a better store for you. PM me if your interested.... -PSi

Ill buy the tranny, ship it DHL it wont cost much.. Let me know... -PSi

No the high wax content makes the gel coat not stick, this in turn lets you throw a few layers of glass down on top of that in turn having a perfect replica of what your replicating (+ or - .001 of an inch) think of a brand bew fiberglass boat, the shinny nice smooth side that sits in the water is the gel coated side the rest inside is just your basic run of the mill layered high strength fiberglass...

This is the real way to do it but then again i dont own a body shop i own a fabrication shop... =)

You dont use the mold but once you use the actual piece you make afterwards, its just easier than getting inside the car. and yes the wrinkles would be there but when using a mold especialy a fiberglass mold you allways want to smooth it out afterwards... Im sure there are other ways im just going over one ive used..
