  1. Well the engine has 103,000 miles on it so I just figured that I should replace them "while I'm in there" Guy
  2. Oh yeah and heres another question...what kind of rods do I have in my 93 LT1 motor right now(stock)? If they are the PM rods I was going to recondtion them and use ARP bolts. If not I guess I will just have to spend the extra $250 on rods. Thanks, Guy
  3. Hey Mike C or anybody else for that matter would you happen to know the GM part number for those? I found some Hyraulic roller lifters by GM but they are 30.52 a piece which comes out to $488.32 for 16 of them. I am not spending $488 on lifters! Please help!!! Thanks, Guy

  6. I am new to the whole body kit scene and I was wondering how their kits attached to the body. I have a 80 ZX and I would like to get one of their kits. My step-dad has done body work before and I was just wondering if they are very hard to install? Thanks, Guy

  8. I was going to order the HOTCAM kit for my 93 LT1 and the description says "Does not include roller tappets. See valve lifter section for the lifter kit." So what does that mean? I am going to get new hydralic roller lifters too. Is that what Roller Tappets are? Thanks, Guy
  9. Are you sure that your fan is hooked up correctly? and not pushing air through? This could be the reason that it only overheats when you stop or go slow. When you are going fast the speed of the air coming in can over come the fan but when you slow down it can't so they cancel each other out. Just a thought! Guy

  11. I was trying to figure out how to mount my radiator tonight and the only thing that I cam up with is that I should use rubber mounts of some sort. I have the Griffin 26x19 for my 1980 280ZX and the Taruis fan. Can you clue me in on how you mounted this??? Thanks, Guy

  13. Yup I picked out a silver base coat and the blue Kandy color. I am going to be painting the enine bay this weekend so hopefully I will have some pics! Thanks for all the help, Guy And thanks for the complement!
  14. I can tell you that if you go LS1 that the mounts are different from the old SBC's. The LT1 on the other hand is the same. The LT1 and T56 fit in my ZX like a dream! I didn't ever have to widen out the tunnel, all I had to do is take out the old mounts and make a tranny mount for the T56(pics are on my site). Like all other ZX's though I will have to come up with a exhaust manifold for the drivers side to clear my steering gear box. Like the other guys said the LT1 is the most bang for the buck! And I would also suggest going with a 95-97 for the Optispark reason stated above. I am changing mine to the updated one while I rebuild the engine. Guy
  15. I was trimming back my bird nest tonight and I cam to the I.C. Ignition Unit wires there are 2 Brown and Blue (I think???). What are those for and do I need them for my LT1? Guy
  16. Never mind Dan Juday! I went and picked out my paint today. Its from the "House of Kolor" It's going to cost about $800 for all the paint, clear coat, and kandy color to do my whole car and the engine bay. Oh I can't wait! Guy

  18. I am go to be putting a R200 in my 80 ZX that used to have a R180. I would like to change all the seals in the R200 to new ones while its out. So how hard is it to change those seals? Like the 2 side ones and the front one. Do you have to take out the gears? Thanks, Guy

  22. Hey BRAD D, what kind of paint is that on your car? I want my paint to be kinda like that but in BLUE. Is there a metalic in that paint? (sorry to change the subject!) I basically want my paint to be like a velvet blue. You know what were it looks black when light hits it a certain way but blue otherwise. Not a camilian (sp?) color though! I hate camilian!!!! Does anybody know what I am talking about? Oh yeah and Greimann I will look at the tire rack for that size! Thanks, Guy
  23. What size of tire should I use for my 17x7's? I have wheel spacers for my Konig Monsoon 17x7's and my suspension is stock size(updated to stiffer springs and new bushings but havent gone to coilovers...yet!). So what size of tire would work best? I am looking for good straight line acceleration and good cornering abilitys. Also I will not be driving in any wet conditions ever. Also what is a good brand of Z rated tires for steet/strip (75/25) use in dry conditions only? Thanks Guy
  24. Didn't the 96 Vette come with a LT4? And also isn't the LT5 the Quadcam motor? or am I thinking of something else? Guy
