  1. I havent driven mine yet but I would say go with the T56. 6 gears has to be better than 5 right??? You should use a 94-97 though because the 6th gear in those is .5:1 instead of the 93's .63:1 ratio. I have also heard that the 94-97 T56's are stronger but that might just be a rummor??? I am pretty sure that the T56 are stronger than the T5's though. Guy
  2. HECK YEAH V8's can go in 280ZX's!!! I am doing one for my 1980 ZX. I am using a 93' LT1 & T56. I have more information on my NEW!!! webpage(see link below). I bought the mounts from MSA but if you have any fabrication skills you could make them from the pics that I have on my site. I will have some better ones up soon. I just removed my engine/tranny from the engine bay so that I can begin to prep the bay for paint. I agree thought that the JTR manual is very informative though! You should still get it even though it doesn't cover the ZX exactly. Another thing to do is use the search function. It has answered many of my question and even made me think of a few to ask! Guy ZX's
  3. Well I have some more info! Its a 1979 and it is not FI its carbed. So does anybody know if its worth anything? Thanks, Guy
  4. So I could buy the kit use the Non self aligning roller rocker that I have with guide plates and new studs and sell the self aligning ones with the kit? Is that what you mean Mudge??? Guy
  5. I have got this Buick Regal Sport Coupe sitting in my yard that my stepdads friend has left here for the past 8 years. I think we have kinda adopted it. Is that 3.8 Liter Turbo Motor worth anything? Thanks, Guy
  6. Well since I have such an itchy trigger finger I bought the non self aligning roller rockers. But now I have choosen to just use the LT4 hotcam kit roller rockers. So now I have some brand new still in the box Crane Pro Magnum Non Self Aligning Roller Rockers for 7/16" studs for sale! I paid $299 for them but I will let them go for $245 +$12 shipping and Handling and $3 for insurance. Let me know if you are interested at ggrenfell18@yahoo.com Thanks Guy
  7. Is this for an LT1? This is the system that I am going to use. Not sure if its what you looking for though. I found at the Summit Racing website... www.summitracing.com heres the part # ACC-49324 Guy
  8. Hate to brake it to you but that discount doesnt work. I tried to use it last night and it said it was invalid. Sorry Guy
  9. Ok I found some KB Flat top hypers for $237 (set) that will give me a 11.1:1 CR. What rings would you guys recommend. Thanks, Guy
  10. Ok well heres my plan then... Stock crank (re-ground) GM PM rods And KB hyper pistons with 11:1 compression Will this work??? Thanks, Guy
  11. Well the reason I would like to go forged is because I might add a nitrous system later, like a 75 shot. Should I maybe go hypereutectic? I thought those were kinda the best of both worlds? Thanks, Guy
  12. Well that would help but I would like to go with forged pistons. I am rebuilding the whole engine so I would rather not use the stock pistons. Thanks, Guy
  13. I thought I read some where that if you change pistons your crank will be unbalanced because the crank is balanced for lightweight pistons? I am not shaving my heads so I was wondering what pistons would get me to about 11:1 compression? Thanks, Guy
  14. Ok since the LT1 pistons are "lightweight" can you just use any piston in them? Cause I thought that the whole rotating assemble was all lightweight stuff? I know you cant just use any crank in an LT1 with out balancing everything out again. What pistons work in an LT1? I am going to use the GM PM rods. Thanks for the help guys! Guy
  15. Is that where you saw $459? Is $505 cheap? Thanks, Guy
  16. Well I just called a local guy who makes headers. He said that it's going to cost about $300 for that header. And if he can't use anything from the extra header that I have then it will be about $400-450! Is this outragous or not? I am willing to pay but if you guys think this is just outragous then I will try some place else. Thanks, Guy
  17. Hey Mudge where can you get the LT4 Hotcam Kit for $459??? I found if for $505 and $569<--what a rip! Thanks, Guy
  18. Ok I think I know what I'm going to do now! I am going to use the HOTCAM kit for now and if I dont like it I will upgrade later to a bigger cam! I really appreciate all the infomation that I have gotten on this subject! Thanks again, Guy
  19. Ok well i posted before and I dont remember who said it but someone said that I should just go with the hotcam because if I go any bigger that I would have to do a lot of computer tuning??? I dont know how easy it is to tune a 93' PCM since you can't use LT1 Edit. Can anybody back this up? Thanks, Guy
  20. Ok but what about the binding? Like Mudge said? Are the kit springs any good? I dont want to have to worry about my valve train going if I rev it a little too much. Thanks, Guy
  21. Well I hate to brake it to you guys but I will only be buying the cam. Jeff Ondo of Ondo Performance will be putting the springs in when he does the valves. So now you guys really got me confused! Since I am not going to buy the kit what should I do about my roller rocker situation? I already have the nonself aligning rockers on the way. So I guess I will be going with guideplates and hardend pushrods... Right?! Guy
  22. Ummm yeah I ment cessna 170. It's a tail dragger. Does that make sense now? Guy
