  1. I was pretty sure you could get close to $20K. Did it come with all the extra stuff you didnt really care if you got? Yeah and the Caliber looks like a mini stationwagon suv lookin' thing. I dont like it! Plus it being enginered by.........Dodge, Mercedes, and Mitsubishi. Can you say a "what a PITA to work on"....I hope it has Dodge wiring cause mitsu wiring sucks and so does Mercedes(The dodge sprinter is actually pretty much all Mercedes). Guy
  2. I found a page that shows what all the stuff for an LT1/LS1 weighs in at.... http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/weights.htm Guy
  3. Daaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmn! I just started the body work on my car, I hope I can get something even sorta close to what you have there! :hail: Guy
  4. I can totally relate to his situation with my girlfriend buying a car this week. Now granted she wasnt driving a very special car by any means(95' Plymouth Acclaim). The car has been needing some attention lately and needed a major repair now to make it reliable again. She had to pay for an axle and a radiator in the last month and now she needs a cylinder head because its cracked. She could have payed for the parts and I could have fixed it for nothing. But after speding a few hundred dollars on a head and other parts needed to fix it it still wont be a reliable car just due to its age. The car has 170,000 miles on it and its not getting any nicer by the day! LOL Now he's in a very different yet similar situation. He's been fighting small problems for some time and like he said he doesnt have the money to do what he really wants to do to the car and he still wants the creature comforts. Yeah it sucks to see a member sell a car but sometimes its whats best for the members situation. Guy
  5. Technically the MOPAR stuff puts you out of warrenty too. At our dealership we dont care what you do for mods. Not every dealership is like that though. You have to find a dealership that is ok with mods. Guy
  6. Just got back from the machine shop. Bad news for me. Turns out that I wont be able to use my alluminum flywheel because they cant balance it unless they have the crankshaft. Since my old flywheel was not neutrally balanced neither is my engine. The post 86' engines use counter weights that offset the counter weights on the flywheel. If my engine was out on the stand I could just pull the crankshaft out and bring it in but Im not going to pull the motor when I could just sell this flywheel and get one that has counter weights on it. Well one problem has been solved atleast! Guy
  7. Ok sounds good! Mike what was your tranny doing when you had to fix it? Guy
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/72-DATSUN-Z-PROJECT-CAR-BEAUTIFUL-BODY-NEEDS-ENGINE_W0QQitemZ4578149087QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This car has all the hard work done! All the body and interior is done. Just pick an engine and install it! Plus the reserve is already met at $2500! Someone buy this thing! Guy
  9. Hey if you got the cash I can get the stage 3 at a very reduced price for you.....right around $3800ish vs your cost of $5600ish.....355HP! Guy
  10. Im betting that you can get it for $21K but probably less. I think that they are market more than the regular Neons because they know they can get it. Guy
  11. The SRT-4 is putting down what your car was for numbers. They are under rated from the factory. All the stock dyno sheets that I've see show about 235WHP right from the factory. Guy
  12. Not too sure. All the SRT-4's that we've gotten in have all that extra stuff and are around $22k. I havent even asked what employee pricing is on one. I would guess that you could get it down to $20K but not much lower. The regular Neon at our dealership is only market up about $750 above cost. There really isnt much markup for the Neon's and Stratus sedans. Now the trucks are a differnet story.... For the new MEGA Cab Diesel... MSRP about $54k "Employee Pricing" about $49K Real Employee cost about $45K I think the SRT-4 is in the same boat, they know they can mark it up and do. I would low ball them into selling it for $20K. Guy
  13. I've never seen that kit before? Is it custom kit or did the previous owner build it? That body work could deffinetly use some attention. Are you sure you want to get into a car that needs that much body work? Worst part is that it probably wasnt done right so you'll have to do it all over again. Guy
  14. Well I have the tranny out and it will be getting torn down probably late next week. A guy that I work with will be doing to rebuild for me. I cant wait to find out whats wrong with the bastard! LOL I just want it fixed! So anybody know where to get parts for these things? And as for upgrades? I know its rated for 400ft-lbs but is there anything that is the weak link in these beasts? I have found rebuild kits for them for about $250-300 for all the bearings and syncros. I hope that i dont need any shafts for it because they sure are expensive! Guy
  15. You dont want to have the Z driveshaft since it is smaller and has smaller u-joints. You want to buy a driveshaft that fits in your tranny and then have it shortened and put the spicer adapter(do a search for the specific part number) the other end. Guy
  16. <----------It is if you work at Dodge. Guy
  17. I also think your going to have to move those hard lines away from the header otherwise your probably going to have vapor lock issues with the fuel. Otherwise, Nice Job! Guy
  18. I thought reaction time didnt effect ET or MPH? Isnt it more for heads up racing? Guy
  19. It wasnt an issue of test driving one just an issue of trying to explain that she couldnt afford the SS even though he thought she could. Since there wasnt an LT anywhere in the near area(that wasnt yellow!) because they were all sold durning the employee pricing the last 2 months she pretty much knew she wasnt going to get a Cobalt. All he could find was the base model LS or the SS in the color she wanted. He could have gotten the LT in a Yellow one but she hates yellow cars. She didnt want the LS because it didnt have the power options and the SS had everything but was 4k more than the LT so it was not in her price range. I tell you one thing, I learned my lesson on buying cars.....dont let the A-hole salesmen push you around. This type of BS will not happen again with me or her. The only good part about this ordeal was the fact that we wasted 2.5 hours of his time that he could have been selling a car! LOL Guy
  20. Very nice job! Where's the A/C unit? LOL Guy
  21. Well you could have an adapter plate made so that it either brings the EGR valve above the valve cover or so that it tilts it up so that its level with the engine. I would try to find another EGR valve first though since it will be cheaper. Wish I could help with a suggestion but since I dont live in an emissions state I dont really pay attention to them. Guy
