  4. hey i got this FP regulator at a swapmeet for five bucks and i looked in the bottom hole (the input) and theirs a little metal star shaped thing then a spring and a ball, my question is, what should this look like? mine looks like the little metal thing is pushed sorta sideways all the way up into the body so that the spring looks almost fully compressed. i didnt want to put it on my car till i was sure it worked well http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/album_pic.php?pic_id=2484

  6. the vlsd in my maxima seems seemless, if you could explain it as such. the first time i ripped it sideways through a corner it nearly ripped the wheel outta my hands since then it seems like it is just there, no one wheel peel ever but after 30k i still cannot feel it engage, my only problem now is that i want that seemless feeling in my z. if this doesnt make sense my appologies i just got home from a party and i am drunk as a skunk

  8. in a viscous lsd spinning one side of the diff should make the other side spin in the same direction or not at all in an open diff the other side will spin in the opposite direction, at least this is how my infinity VLSD tranny works that i put in my maxima
  9. thanks for the support guys!. in response to the question, i did all the work myself its all mig welding. it was my first time and theres alot that id do differently but considering i started with a very bent frame and no skills im very happy with the outcome and the fact that it drives very straight -pete

  13. hrm, well today i cut about 20 more collector tubes and i still have about 10 slices from last week, so thats like 6 flowers, then theres the 2 inch collectors im going to be jigging up to cut tomorrow. so we will see what happens, and as far as amy goes shes absolutely fantastic in just about every way, but shes still getting over her ex, im doin my best to help her through it. we will see how it goes. ill run the selling flowers idea by her see what she thinks. thanks for the advice guys -pete
  14. heh i wish she was really my girl, we are just friends, i knew it would cheer her up, i only really met her last week. i always saw her car outside her work, its a really nice 98 prelude SH with a bit of work done to it and all of it was very clean and tasteful, when i found out a girl drove it i had to investigate. we ended up getting along really well. anyways happy halloweeen guys thanks for the support as always im heading out to the bar. have a good weekend!
  15. i dunno, im not really the artsy type but i was playing with header leftovers, from the collecters we make and my boss was like we always throw these out what can we do with them, so i took a pile threw it on the bench. something reminded me of my girl for a second then the next thing iknew i was like holy crap! , so i went scavenging around and thats what i came up with. for one of you hybridz guys, id only ask for what it would cost to package and ship it. if you guys ever need anything custom made let me know... take care - pete
  16. i know its OT but i didnt know where else to put it. i made this today for my girl , call me fruity, but she loved it. its all from scrap steel from the shop and the colorization is from tig welding the "petals" on and leavin the heat on them longer so they would change colors http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/peej410/vwp?.dir=/Yahoo!+Photo+Album&.dnm=amysflower.jpg&.view=t honest opinions, what do u guys think?
  17. i was lookin through the 2003 moroso catalog and i found offset 14 inch aircleaners that are made for imca and nascar .... the part number is 65926 for the shallow drop base and 65925 for the really low drop base one ... enjoy
  18. well with the holley red i get 5 pounds of pressure exactly, and at full throttle under hard acceleration it drops to about two, i WAS only getting 3psi before. the carb is an edelbrock 1405, the only thing i know how to adjust on the points is the dwell with a dwell meter, and its set at 35, my timing is at 8 degrees BTDC. i can check voltage to the pump tomorrow ihave a regulator inline. should i remove it to run the holley red?
  19. i posted a week or so ago and i was told i was running lean, so i aquired a fuel pressure gauge and sure enough i was running only 3 psi at idle. i got rid of the crappy electric pump i had and i put in a holley red tonite, it didnt fix my problem. the problem is that when the motor is warm, no matter what gear if i floor it it bogs then goes like all hell, its a stock motor out of a truck with a truck cam and 882 heads so im not expecting too much from it but it just doesnt seem as fast as it should be. the edelbrock is a 1405, im thinking it may be the manifold, at a swap meet last year i picked up a rather tall weiand that is single plane with a divider plate. ive been running with the plate in it. could that be why it runs like that at low rpms? and would a cam help smooth it out a little bit? i bought the tall manifold so that i could judge where i would want my motor and im happy to say i have less than 3/16 of an inch between the modified aircleaner nut and my drop base edelbrock aircleaner. anyways. im also only running points right now but everything in there is new, the motor has good compression and pulls 18.5in of vac at idle. i have two fuel filters set up, but they are between the pump and the carb. i dont know if that would cause the problem, i thought about adjusting the accelerator pump but havent had time to yet. let me know if i need to provide anymore information. i appreciate any help advice suggestions... anything -pete
  20. this is frustrating i wish i could afford all the highend nice stuff for my car, im using a cheapo regulator and an electric fuel pump i got when i had my 2.4l for all i know that could be the main problem. im going to go play with it some more thanks -pete
  21. yes it did go up when i adjusted them then i backed off a taste to get it back to 650 i also went around and adjusted all my valves took the top of the carb off and adjusted the floats aswell, now it idles really well but when i give it sudden full throttle under load it bogs then screams like all hell, i think that means its rich, im going to leave it for now, its not really fully street legal yet so im going to button up every system in the car before driving it much more. thanks soo much for your help i read through the edelbrock manual a dozen times looked online, your simplified version made the difference though. thanks again - pete
  22. ok well to get it to run close to proper it seems like i have to have the right hand screw all the way in and the left hand out two turns, this is when facing the carb from the front. am i still doing something wrong?
  23. wow, i dont think i ever noticed a fuel forum, when did that happen ?
  24. im thinking i may have a fuel flow problem, is it true that more than 5 psi can cause fuel to squeeze past the needle and seat?
