  2. i was able to run a set of cherry bombs on mine in the transmission tunnel im running a dual 2 1/4 all the way back. when i get on it it absolutely screams but cruising at 1500 its very docile and sounds great just a low burble, i dont much like quiet cars they are soo boring. youd never catch anyone dozing off in my Z heheh i was also wondering, if you put a dual 2 1/2 inch exhaust on a an older 350 and one on an ls1.... how different do they sound?

  4. my advice, buy a junker take him for a ride and find a little brick wall or gaurd rail and hit it at 5mph, then take him down to the police station, and have him listen to some of their stories. worst case scenario let me talk to him about the guy i saw get beheaded by a tree that he flew through when someone hit him head on when they were driving 100 mph around a blind curve and crossed the double yellow lines. i was on the fone with my friend who was on the other side of the whole road closed thing. my friend joked that the corpse looked really short on the stretcher (my friends make fun of me for being short) then i saw another emt carrying a bloody plastic bag and a smashed helmet from the field some 200 ft away ill never ever forget that nite.... anyways it seems like the only way to teach kids is to let them see and feel the pain that can be had from such incidents.....
  5. wow man EXCELENT work. i would really love to do this swap into an early Z once my skills and equipment improve its truely inspirational. i made buddies with the local nissan dealership parts department and my boss thinks its a wicked idea. so maybe ill start my own in a year or so... or maybe ill make my maxima rwd heheh. it sounds crazy but ive taken loooots of measurements and it sure seems like it would fit really good with some hefty modifications to the chassis
  6. its alright i think im going to make a purpose built one, i just got a new motor to rebuild yesterday for 360 bucks its an 80s 4 bolt main block cylinders look good and its got 2.02 heads on it. nothin special but the guy said theres a cam in there aswell. that comes first
  7. hmmm im cant decide if i should simplify it and just buy something or fab something up thats really trick and does exactly what i want. i just finished mocking up my new tranny crossmember. cant wait to get my motor back in. heheheh

  9. first things first pull off your slave cylinder and let the clutch fork rest where it wants to then try to reinstall the slave, if the slave is pushing on the clutch fork more then just a tiny bit its time to make some big adjustments, i custom made a pull type wilwood setup and its a very short clutch throw and its sooo sweeet but my slave is leaking so i need to figure out why it was getting sideloads introduced

  11. hmmm well im not too worried about my paint, its rustoleum enamel heheh holding up damn well too ! i just think it would look sooooooo cool to have two bikes up top of my Z like they are riding over it heheheh i cant wait till its back on the road
  12. hrm , my bike is a 99 Specialized FSR XC comp. i dont think itll fit inside because of my massive welded rear strut bar and wheremy battery is. seems like i have lots of suggestions to think through keep em coming maybe one day ill design a product. gotta get my hands makin some more money heh
  13. hehe well what i was thinking is that i may custom make something out of aluminum but i have to get a look at how the yakima stuff works first i was thinkin it would be badass if i bent a piece so that it went down to the end of the hatch for the bikes tires to fit in and clamp in but i dont know i need to do more research and find a rear end for my car hehe

  15. hey guys, i was wondering if you guys have ever seen a Z bike rack before. i would love to be able to drive my Z to the trails and have my bike up top but i think my bike is like half the length of the entire car. my buddy said that a yakima type roof rack would work but i dont think so. have you guys ever seen or tryed anything ???? thanks - pete

  17. hey guys yesterday on my ride home i noticed my shoes delaminating from the heat of my engine and my floors and everything and i started to wonder what i could use to monitor engine bay temperatures.... i remembered a few years ago my ex girlfriends brother buying a temp gauge thingy from radio shack PN:63-1039 and he was talking about how he could tell inside and outside temps so i picked one up and mounted the sensor on the firewall just inback of my distributor. i couldnt believe how high temps got in the engine bay on a cold night at idle in traffic and how low they got on the highway under the same conditions, i also realized that my intermittent bog ive been suffering is a lean bog because it only happened when my engine bay temps got below 80 degrees. on the highway the temps got as low as 55 on a 50 degree nite and at idle in traffic it got upto 123. im going to make some modifications to see if i can get the idle temps lower anyways, thought this was interesting so i thought id let u guys know
  18. i just aquired some westach egts out of my boss's race car... i have a stock 350 with a weiand split single plane manifold block hugger headers msd probillet mech advance only and an edelbrock 600 i was wondering what sort of temps i should expect once i have it all set up ?
  19. im not too sure but running or not running an argon purge inside the stainless tube could cause discolorizations like that, i dont have much experience with stainless but i know titanium does that if u dont purge
  20. this is the reason why i painted my car rustoleum flat black enamel. because it will NEVER look like that. amazing work kudos to the fabricator
  21. hehe my first exhaust that i hung on the car after i went from the block huggers from 86 corvette headers ended up being less than 3 inches, i cant even fit my creeper under the glass packs, my motor also sits a bit lower than jtr. anyways cant wait to see what that puppy will do! mine seems like the harder i beat on it the faster it gets goodluck ! - pete
  22. i was just poking around on ebay for 81 corvette rear diffs cuz i saw one at a swap meet with 410 gears in it for 150 bucks felt way tight. anyways in my search i came up with these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2472077163&category=33631 and i was thinking they might work! might require moving the steering shaft. not sure though -pete

  24. hmmm well i will almost definately be racing quite a bit but this will be a pure street car. what would a setup like the one you mentioned with a 250 degree cam make for power? or should i just punch it into dd2000??
