I plan to run the car with slicks and do the following: 1 Pull to the dragstrip start line 2 hold the engine against the rev ~7000 limiter 3 side step the clutch 4 change underware 5 repeat I am wondering if the R200V is strong enough or do I need the R230V. There must be a least 20 pounds of extra weight there.
  4. At 475 HP, manual trans, W/slicks will a R230V hold up? R200V?

  7. I just bought a MSA Carbon Fiber Spoiler, ($189) looks like only one layer thick. If you hold it to the light you can see through it. I thought you need to have these things have many layers and less resin...
  8. I found the old thread and found that some members run 8" on the rear and 10" on the front. So on the rear how much wheel with space does one get on the rear with 8 inch vs 10".
  9. Ahh.. let me clarify. You recommended that 200/225 was a good starting point for me. So when I tried to buy this spring rate CG said I may experience coil bind and recommended a much stiffer spring. I just need to get some opinions from people if this has been an issue with GC, because I do not to go higher than necessary on spring rate.
  10. Ground Control says 8 inch springs that JohnC reccomended 200 225 F/R will coil bind. They are recommending ~275/300...Whaddaya think? I am running 17 x 9 on stock fenders. Do I need 8 or 10 inch springs? What is the dif?

  12. First I called Mach Auto Body but the guy I talked to said his brother was on vaction till aug 17th. Second I called Castillo Body Shop and was told that Sergio does not speak english. Then I called another shop that said $6500 minmum... This is tough. Any more ideas?

  16. I have a 1972 240Z that has very little rust (for a z). I am need to get it painted. I have considered here in san jose or taking it to sacramento to try to find cheaper labor. Does anyone have a shop that they can vouch for the wrork and get me a ball park price. The car is stripped.

  19. 1972 240Z 918 Orange, How do I get the original color? I am painting my car. Since the car has been repainted and faded how can I get the original color paint? Can paint shops look it up?
  20. Hypothetical Question on Turbo Back Pressure Engine A, at sea level, makes 100 horsepower with 14.7 PSIG intake manifold boost (above atomspheric). At this conditon it has 20 PSIG exhaust before the turbo, and 5 PSI exhaust pressure after the turbo, then: 1. If the after turbo exhaust pressure was lowered 1 PSIG, how much will the exhaust pressure before the turbo decrease? 2. How much will the engines power increase?
  21. My engine is a 2JZ-GTE so it weighs ~150 pounds because turbos, intercooler, piping, bigger radiator, AC, etc so mine after I rolled it a least 40 feet was very low. 6.25 to the very bot of the rockers. Never under estimate the weight of accessories.
  22. That is easier than what I did. I wanted to retain the AC so I triangluated the TC boxes with the crossmemer and machined the stock mounts to work (with some wedges), the system allowed the whole thing to use stock mounting.
