  1. What do you think of running no rear Sway Bar? I was reading http://alteredz.com/suspensionmods.htm I have heard others do it to. Can I just increase the rear spring rate and omit the bar?
  2. Who is the member with the 240zs, one orange w/7M-GTE and the other a rising sun(japan)? He had a good web site.
  3. Why can't we all just get along (coil overs). I have been researching coil overs. I called ground control they we very unhelpful and I was eventually hung up on (accidental I hope), up later emailed. I have read the article in sportZ mag and searched online but Why on earth does the 240Z kit not work on a 240Z? The aurthor tells of using VW rabbit struts for shorter cartridges, or MR struts, and using thr front struts on the rear, etc... Why can't I buy a proper kit? Or a coil over strut instead of threaded sleeves? Do people section struts on an exchange basis. If I just buy the 240Z kit will it work? This is a dual purpose car and will have 4.75 iches of ground clearance. rant rant rant, and another thing...
  4. Can a sway bar be used with a r230? Looks to be no room...
  5. Does anyone have pictures? This is difficult with them.
  6. I ran the fuel lines along the rocker panel for safety. They run in the channel where the sway bars go. The rear mount may be a better option. I just need to know who sells the rear mounted type.
  7. Armada Axles, how many bolt on axle output flanges? I have a lead on 1 2.94 ratio but I need to know how many bolt they are. I know the j30 is 5 and the 300zxtt is 6. Anyone?
  8. 240Z two different types of rear sway bars.? I noticed that my 1971 z had the sway bar behind the diff, Is this stock? I notice that other Z cars have the sway bar in front of the diff (newer?). I need to know as I have clearance issues.
  9. Autocrossed the 400RWHP 240Z with stock Suspension today! I took my 2jz-gte TT supra powered Z out to the san fran scca autocross. Now remember my suspension is all stock. I think the shocks are original. But I have new 185 front tires and 205 drag radials on the rear. the car had 28 psi in the fronts and 20 psi in the back. Open diff too. I meet up with other z's there and shoot the breeze, but never opened my hood or mouth about my engine, and since it is a in line 6 it sounds right too. When it was time to run I took off drag race style. I could squirt forward with ease, but the car leaned so hard I thought it may not even be safe, but I got used to the leaning. (!) The car would spin its rear tire (pick one) incessently even with the drag radials. I got 47.8 sec on a track where 44.0 sec was concidered fast. So I did not win but I had a blast. Later People came up to me who were corner workers, they had noticed that my car was really powerful and wanted to check it out. I think that made my day! Hail Hail all SleeperZ!!!
  10. I love the lines of the z so, no flair voted here.
  11. If I buy a MM or Arizona brake kit can I get standard replacement parts like rotors? Are they mustang/corvette rotors or are they special?
  12. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=91359&page=9&pp=25 halfway down see under the frame the front dif mount. also notice the IRS as a whole is 8 inches too wide.
  13. I owned and concidered it but the wide front mounts are horribly located.
  14. Also can I mix the 13" arizona fronts with the MM rears?
  15. At pick in pull off mowry in Fremont is a TT 300zx (!) I did not have the tools to pull the dif Sat so I came back today with a special 36mm socket and low and behold the dif was gone. This weekend it would have been only 28 buck too!!!!!!!!! (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!) So I pulled the axles and here I sit and stew... I want to know who took it? Also there is a black 1994 Q45 there with dif and axles (6 bolt) complete. It is super easy to pull because most of the suspension is gone. Good luck
  16. Mas 280 where did you get your wilwood 13 with 6 piston calipers? Also are the MM PBR the same as on the C5, cobra, and z06? ANy difference? I like the MM because the rear does not move the wheels outward.
  17. Run away train. I ran sac drag racing last wednesday and reached trap speeds of 12.1@122mph and I always had to use the third turn out. I Intend to use this car for some track days too. So I realize the my brakes may need improvement. I want so brakes that are so good I never need to upgrade them. So I searched forever and I can always find someone who thinks some brakes package is good, but inveibably someone else badmouths the brakes and says they are not good. I know johnc likes stock. MM package looks great but the corvette and mustang monkeys complain about them (granted their whales, I mean cars are heavier). I have heard wilwood pump air into themselves. So after all this searching I seem to know less than when I started. Does anyone have any high speed, high powered brake experience, that can reccomend a aggressive brake package to me that they have personnal put to track use. I am afraid to even post this. (hiding behind my flame shield)
  18. Well infineon was close so I ended up going to sacramento at the last minute. Took 3 hours to get there and then I found about 200 car at the strip BUT... react .139 60 2.002 8.042 93.136 10.317 12.184 @ 122.001 soft shifting as I am on stock axles and open diff. race weight 2750 lbs engine stock 3.5 exh big intercooler 17 psi ps I am happy to be in the 120mph club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I am racing at Infineon raceway tonight
  20. Can I cause trouble or what?! Lots of discussion. BUt heres the point You can like what ever style engine you like but I am being realistic when I discribe the down side of the turbo car(lag, etc) vs big displacement. I have chosen that it is worth putting up with extra baloney on the turbo car to get more power. I think someone would be in denial if they thought two 300 RHP cars (identical wieght), one turbo, one NA, drive the same. Of course the NA car has better power delivery, but when the turbo can be boosted up then It may become worth it to deal with turbos when there is a power advantage. This is point to understand the power CHARACTERISTICS of various engines, not to give opinions on which is better, because nobody will ever agree.
  21. I shorted the link. I thought your truck was slow by the way the evo drove by you, but then I saw the camaro you blew by.
  22. There is no connector under the dash. It is in the center consol behind the cig lighter. I have scanner if you want to scan it. I am at bernal and 85. PM me if needed.
  23. So to sum things up each has very unique characteristics. And the ultimate combo would be a engine that was big enough to supply good off-boost power then be insane on the top end with some boost. So start building those turbo LS1s.
