  1. Also notice how close the engine mount is to the pan. It is relieved to clear it. The mounts are pulled in 15 degrees.
  2. THanks for hosting Marcos! As you can see the pics are reverse order. I had people who wanted to see the supra mounts. See the Wedge in there the brack is also machine to allow the nut to come down flat. I have pulle about 24 lbs of wiring from the car. The harness is much simpler. I am installing the vintage air unit you can see. And you can see the car with the turbo pipes being mocked up.
  3. What size tilton cylinder should I buy the you the stock supra Twing turbo six speed.
  4. brianglawson ...........ahhhhhhhhh................ the viper uses a T56. Don't you feel silly....
  5. DRF287 I almost went the viper route before i did the supra TT. Heres the scoop. Get a OBD 1 if you have to smog it. secondly get every piece you need from the engine( tank, line, harness, comp, emissionss) or you 4K will be a crappy deal. Thirdly the reason I did not do it is: IT MAY HIT THE CROSS MEMEBER AND STEERING. Also the engine is a lardo. (as in fat ablert) cyrus Ps Don't worry about lowering it that 700lbs motor that is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy forward will lower it all you want.
  6. Hey Mike, So how is Amir doing with my blue LS1 240Z? I hope to have this thing driving in a trackable condition (temperary) by sepember 1st. If I proceed on the IRS it will be longer. I wanted to get amir , darius, you, me and who ever together for a drag racing day at sacramento or sears point. Fun for all.
  7. Greetings, I worked like crazy over this three day weekend. I got a lot done. I finished the supra engine bay harness, supra body harness, datsun engine bay harness, datsun body harness. I then mounted the computer and drilled all the the access hole thru the firewall. I got to set up the intercooler, condsesor and radiator still and mount the battery. I am looking into the fuel celll and option to narrow the supra irs. I will get pics especially of the 20 pounds of wire I cut out strand by strand.
  8. Here is the answer in physics. Smaller lighter pistons moved over a shorter distance (stroke) takes less for than a larger, heavy pistons moved over a longer distance, hence more RPM are possible, thus higher horsepower. Now there are other factors make the RPMS usefull Vtec, 4 valve per cylinder etc. Both are great engines. Bottom line you car does not car about brand, it matters how much HP is produced to push a given weight. Rather than specific HP it is more interesting to talk about HP produced per pound of engine and how much total HP is avaible, that my friend is of use. I know a civic si engine is powerful for its size, but who cares only 160 hp, I can not build a car light enough to capitolize on the light weight of the engine.
  9. Measure of sides, then pull a string to exactly align it. You can see the string in my 2jz post. It was pulled tight.
  10. Any way I am now carefully cutting out all the extra wires in the supra harness. I have removed about 7 to 10 pounds of electrics.
  11. See the electrics all over the car? well I started it last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I am trying to remove the ABS, TRAC, Radio, and PW that should remove about half of the wiring. The wiring wieghs about 65 pounds and has 8 seperate computers.
  12. Vintage air part number for a condensor that fits the 240Z. as well as any info on a good A/C setup. thanks
  13. Now the real magic for this mounting system is I made the supra mounts point straight down, the mounts are 15 degrees outerward each stock. By this mod the mounts were cake. I just got the rad mount and fan mostly done. I am firing it up soon. The shifter is in a perfect postion if you are tall.
  14. I sent tons of pics to marcos LT1 email to host... thx
  15. Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears. I have finished (with help) the engine mounts, trans mount and the radiaor main support. The engine and trans are full installed in the car. The shifter comes out in the ashtray. I have lots of pictures of the install. Who can host? I can't wait to hear the turbos flying! Thanks.
  16. I have been busting my tail working on this project. I have purchase all the turbo plumbing excepth the intercooler which will be done by turbonetics. I got a hawker 680 battery. I also will have an electric fan because the supra in mounted on the side of the engine. So my plan is to: completly mount the engine and trans this weekend. by next weekend Mount radiator, and plumbing, hook up wire and tank and fuel line temporarly so I can start the engine by next 5/22/04. I hope to get some good pics.
  17. Bridguy280z I will use the silicone elbows, cool. Now I need a favor. What brand and part number for the AC evaporator will work in a 240Z, I need it quick! and Who does good Spearco Intercooler work?
  18. Rant start: Toyota you make me crazy!!!!!!!!!! The stupid engine is mill at 15 degrees per side, which makes the engine mount 15 degrees off, which means the the engine mount studs are like an upside down "V" which mean I would have to cut slots for the studs to drop in. So I machined the mounts and added machined wedges and relieved the engine mounts to clear the oil pan and so I could have the mounts straight like a c5 corvette. End Rant:
  19. Here is some info that will help future project-tiers. I have been measuring my car up. The 240Z drive line and engine and diff are 7/8" off of the center line towards the passenger side. The 94 supra TT have centered engines, drivelines, and diffs. This may make routing exhaust in the tunnel tricky...
  20. I just bought 7 feet of 2.5" alum tubing 5 feet of 3 inch tubing to make my own. I need some help. Why is the pipe after and before the IC 2.5" then it gets 3" before the throttle? where to buy aluminum elbows? t-bolt clamps? what Spearc IC will fit? Who can make a custom Spearc? Any suggestions on how to elimiate the PS from the engine ( dummy pulley, etc?) Ps the engine mount hits the steering shaft

  22. OK time for an update. I email Marcos the engine with all plumbing. as you can see this will not fit. I have just bought 2.5 and 3.0 inch aluminum tubing for a custom installation. I purchased the steel to fab my mounts. I should have pictures of the mount soon.
  23. Hey this is Cyrus, I am doing the 2JZ-GTE Supra TT swap. I would like to engineer a complete system. Would the following work well? Fit? Front set up brakes Xtreme Z 13 inch Front Brake Package wheels Supra non turbo front rims 16" x 8" (five lug) tires 225/50/16 kumho victor race suspension AZ arms (or one like it with bushings) coilovers Ground Control fenders stock rolled fender lips brake lines DOT approved stainless Front set up brakes supra TT rear discs wheels Supra non turbo rear rims 16" x 9" (five lug) tires 245/45 - 16 kumho victor race suspension 1994 Supra TT IRS rear suspension (narrowed) coilovers >? fenders stock rolled fender lips brake lines supra TT stock tilton pedal box(?) for clutch, and two master cylinders w/balance bar
  24. Where is the tranmission gear vs speed calculator?
  25. How can I get a u-joint on the front? There is none. Maybe I will get pics to clarify.
