  1. My 325 HP 240z rolls right then left about 1 per sec under hard acceleration. It feels scary. I know the pass. side rear wheel has about 2 deg of toe in. I wonder if that causes it. I do not know if the arm is bent or what. Any suggestion or experience with this. Stock suspension is worn. cyrus
  2. I got my exhaust system put on last night. It cost $$$$ by the time I got all the stuff. But I finial got to drive it some reasonalble distance. I got a trouble code, so I ordered the predator LS1 scanner from diablosport. The car still seems scary with the lousy brakes and suspension, and worn shocks, but it goes FAST.
  3. I need to know the best ride height compromise for street and track for my 71 240Z with a LS1 v8. My present springs are a joke. The car bobs, dips, and is scary. cyrus
  4. Hold on...The reason the car will not hook your power is because IRS does not provide anti-squat, which is shoving the wheels into the ground when you accelerate. In order to hook properly a 9" Ford with a four link would work wonderfully. If you are not will to do that you should optimize what you have with 1 soft tires 2 wide tire 3 small rim dia. with tall side walls to reduce shock loads 4 more rear weight 5 soft springs As far as hooking up, we have a 10.84@126 with a 415 that use the above, but it is still scary to drive. As far as wide tires, my 93 vette with 285's with 9.5" rims does not hook up with only 300 hp. decisions, decisions....
  5. John, I have race the VCHC the last 3 years. It is THE race. I have talked to the nsxfile guys. There racing fluxuates with the stock market I have never seen a Z there besides my uncle Richards (yellow with 415ci). I am trying to build mine dead light. I was amazed at the lotus, caterham, cars with 120 hp 1200lbs, outrunning high power cars.
  6. Darius, I am finishing up my LS1 240Z in Hayward, CA. If you finish yours in April lets get some Bay area Z's and Drag race at Sears Point. later Cyrus
  7. Well, I race the Virgina city hill climb, and all this stub axel failure talk is ugly. Axel failure could result in death on this race. So I need part that were made with more strength. thanks cyrus
  8. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! k thanks
  9. I am considering if I should build a Datsun r200 with LSD, disk brakes, coil overs, etc. If it might fail under hard use I will use vette IRS or 9" ford. I just dont want to through good money after bad. My car could run up to 550HP LS1. cyrus
  10. Ok I drove it again last night. It peels 1st, 2st, and partial 3rd. I have a check engine light on, what are my options to find out why it is on. I think I can not jump the ALDL like on older cars. BTW The stock springs and shocks are now a joke.
  11. I desperately wanted to drive my ls1 so I through some basic stuff on and hit the streets. I still didnt have exhaust, air cleaner, a gas neck filler installed, and o yeah a 2 foot hole in the floor were the spare tire carriers was. The crusty old 195/70/14 didnt have a chance...at least the passenger side one. I have a 3.54 gear with a t56. It seem like the gears where to low. I was getting stunk out by fumes so the ride was short. I started this project in August so it has been 5 months, must be a record!!!
  12. KrazeeZX, I am also done with my 2001 LS1 T56 swap. Have you seen my long LS1 thread (100+ long). You should use a F-body T56. And I recommend using as much F body parts as possible, wiring, comp, dash, tank, etc...
  13. 1971 240Z with 2001 camaro SS with 6 speed T56 I have it just about all done. I have my car wired so that the datsun ignition also run the Camaro harness. It is cool to see the camaro dash come on with the datsun key. The dash lights come on with the datsun parking light and headlights. It is totally intagrated now. Anyways I only need exhaust the T56 clutch to work. I do not think the Datsun clutch master cylinder supplies enough volume to operate the internal stock T56 slave cylinder. I need info and help. Come on buds!!! Thanks!! driving soon cyrus
  14. I removed: Cruise abs PS misc wire for weight. You would have to mount those big clunky wheel disc to get the abs also. My car is going to Jenny Craig.
  15. yes measure the ohms of the key, then simply locate the wires (use shop manual) that go to key and soldered a resistor in. Voila!
  16. OK I got info... I called the NHRA Adaptors are NOT legal. This if from the top tech guy. OK so how do you get 5 on 4.5 with no adaptors what is the back space. Keep the awsnwers coming. thanks
  17. I have O2 simulators. I can not stress enough how well engineered the entire powertrain system is engineered. I see no reason to use a different computer or reprogram it. I used it all. The body control module, the PCM, and the pass key II. I also use the dash and it made the swap great.
  18. Hey Buds, Update time. I got the cast iron manifold to clear are some work. I bolted collector extender on them by drilling and tapping. I got the cooling, custom driveshaft (23.5" long), fuel lines done. I have been running it with open exhaust for my neighbors to enjoy Now just brakes, air cleaner, dash etc and i will driving.
  19. Come on people I need 16 or 17 by 8 or 9 rims... how, what, where, who, etc... thanks cyrus LS1 + old 195/70/14 + open dif = Smoke + frustration
  20. Ok heres the update.... I want something like 17x9 with no flares so everything has to be perfect. I want to run NHRA so I do not believe they allow adapters or spacers. I want to know how trickZ has got a chevy pattern done this. Can I get a ford pattern with no adapters. Then what oem stuff will work.
  21. I want to use 80's-90's camaro or trans am rims 16 x 8 with 4.5 back space. I need to figure out how to get the chevy pattern.
