  1. Well gathered most the parts so far.... here is the lay out! Ok the help i need is the wiring? What goes where? I can figure out the 6 injecter plugs, computer connection, the AFM, Distributor, but what do these do and where do they plug into... And what are these? And what are these?? I think some sould be water temp, another oil pressure and is another one fuel pressure?
  2. Now here is my cooler install.... The cooler is a 96 pass mesa cooler left over from my dads days of air cooled VW's days... Using some 1" 1/8 aluminum stock and -8 stainless steel braided lines and AN fittings using a Mishimoto oil filter adapter plate. Don't hate me for the STP filter.... better than FRAM.. Got my spacer for the 240sx throttle body, gotta get a friend to tig weld up the intake. Then do some port matching. Lots of work to do and not enough time or money. Next will be intercooler mount.!!!
  3. Well working towards turbo install. Here are my parts, just need engine gasket set....GOT IT IN THE MAIL from Datsunpartsllc and they bent the package, the head gasket has a kink!!!!
  4. Great I will contact him today..... Is this Derek with the cam tower shims? Might be!
  5. I need a short block. Does not need to be in good condition. Need block and crank caps. Anyone close to Central Florida? 32825.... New project.
  6. Great , thanks the confidence. I found that QA1 also sells springs and have a lot of choices in length and weight. They sell a 550lb 7inch spring that will work on our setups. I may just buy these for the front and leave the 8kg on the rear. I am saving for motor swap stuff and can't afford the tokico's yet. Turbo..... all I need now is plumbing and of course the install. I got t3 stock turbo, 83 ecu turbo, 83 distributor, turbo oil pump and drive gear, intercooler and piping, msd electric fuel pump, oil cooler, oil drain lines, afm, throttle body 60mm from 240sx, n42 intake, down pipe, I need a clutch as well.
  7. The 260z were direct fit no altercations needed. Word of advice is get the stiffer spring set 8kg, 6kg. Put the 8Kg on the front. I learned the hard way. The front bottoms out on hard bumps with base setup up 5kg front and 6gk rear. I purchased the 8kg and they told me to put the 6kg on the front and 8kg on the rear. I took it to the track Saturday 2/16/13. Cornered better but with the 6kg on the front had a hard diving on the outside corner, hence switching the 8kg to the rear and the 6kg on the rear. The car seems a little bouncy driving onthe street. I thing it is the combo of original inserts and spring setup. I want to get the tokico ilumina's Where did you get yours and how much did they cost?
  8. Andy,, I had Nistune on my 95 s14 that got stolen. I know have a 74 260z. I have collected all turbo parts to as in a 83 turbo ecu. What are my options as using a Nistune? Do I have to go to 88-89 turbo ecu and distributor? My 95 S14 had a S15 motor with a 6 speed, it did not have a consult so had to put one on my S15 ecu. Worked great.
  9. Looks like fun, cant wait for mine. Using the Optrix case for the Iphone now. Works ok.
  10. I am trying the Cosmoracing , spring sets. The work good. I ordered the stiffer rear springs to see if it helps. I am using the original shock inserts need new ones. Looking at getting the Tokico Ilumina's. Just trying to put together the money!
  11. Made it to a local time attack! Here is one of the runs. http://s158.beta.photobucket.com/user/melbellwood1/media/20130203_001523_zps7dfd71c8.mp4.html Also more on youtube at "tooquick240"
  12. I havent found a link to show full install of megasquirt. I know that Martin at Z-fever in Tampa can do the S130 computer swap with the S130 distributor. He actually does a reflash of the computer and solders in the enthalpy prong chip that he can tune.
  13. Video of me by my dad. Just left Hot Dog Heaven, had a few Chicago dogs and there great fries. Turn down your volume, sound turned out terrible! http://s158.beta.photobucket.com/user/melbellwood1/media/20130128_160220.mp4.html http://s158.beta.photobucket.com/user/melbellwood1/media/20130128_160504.mp4.html Sounds good on this one. Going on the night, heading out to meet friends. http://s158.beta.photobucket.com/user/melbellwood1/media/20130128_185823.mp4.html
  14. I ran this type of a pro shifted gear setup on another type of car and hated it. It would fix your problem but a pain to drive. It was a 1958 VW Beetle with a 1966 transaxle. Strip street car running nitrous, ran mid 10's at 123. Killer 1.39 60 foot times on DOT drag radials. Was a killer street killer. That cars demise was the big Bang effect of nitrous.
  15. Shifting above 7000 rpm is a common problem for these cars. You can go the route of removing every other tooth on the synchronizer. This is what they call pro shifted gears. It opens up the window for the gear selector to change the gears. There is a draw back on these, you can not granny shift if you do this. It will grind on every shift that you try to gently put into gear. Like trying to shift without the clutch pedal. We seem to sacrifice when we want to go fast. The other thing you could look at is that the chassis and the driveline may be in a bind under this extreme acceleration. What are you using for motor mounts, tranny mounts and diff mounts? You could go solid mounts or some other type of stiffer mounts. My drag racing experience has a lot of the later issue with missing a shift or not able to shift to 2nd gear. The torque you are putting through the driveline with your HP and propably sticky tires. Good luck, as I said we sacrifice a lot for what we want and you may have to go some of these routes.
  16. 1974 260zI late model, Nissan Sentra Spec-V SER wheels, 17x8, BFGoodrich 225/50 fronts, 245/45 rears. Running 1" 1/4" spacers, Cosmoracing adjustable springs, When I dropped it the right rear rubbed but with a little persuasion with the rubber mallet and rolled the lip no more rub!
  17. Any progress this week?
  18. There is a vendor here on Hybridz doing the conversion parts. He uses a honda Odyssey front rotors. He machines the rotor to bolt to the hub, does a very good job, the bearing race has to be machined as well. He makes the adapters to bolt the Z32 calipers to the S30 strut housing. The Z32 is 90mm spread where the stock S30 is 80mm I believe. The rotors and brackets are a little over $300 and you supply the Z32 Calipers. I have not installed the z32 BMC yet. Plans for turbo install in the next 3 months and will tackle the bmc then while the car is down for mocking turbo parts and plumbing.
  19. The set up for the late model 260z requires no cutting. You remove the springs and the Cosmo slides over the strut housing an sits on the botttom perch that the original spring sat on. This is held in place by 3 allens with rubber o-ring on the inside to hold secure. Then screw the locking ring on, then the adjusting ring, slide over bottom strut housing the setting spring, then the intermediate holder for the top of the setting spring, Put the main spring on the intermediate holder with the top spring landing holder. Then you use the original top rubber setting piece with the three mount studs that goes through the body to be bolted on. All four corners took 3-4 hours.. I had help from my dad and brother. Taking both sides off at the same time. It was our first time and with basic tools very simple. I think all we used was a 10mm wrench for brake lines, 14mm wrench for top and bottom strut bolts and sway bars, 17mm wrench front caliper, 19mm wrench top nut for strut, same in sockets, pliers, prybar, rubber hammer. I did use air tools where possible. Nice to be able to use my dads tools. This is basic remove and replace springs.
  20. Well more progress. Got a set of Cosmoracing adjustable springs for Christmas. My dad ordered but ordered them for an early 74 260Z which have the same diameter strut housing as the early. Tried to install but will not fit, sent them back got the new set back on Tuesday and installed them on Wednesday. Install is straight forward. I also got a set of stainless steel braided break lines to go with my new Z32 front breaks. I also installed these at the same time. Here are some before and after pics. Rebleading the lines had some garbage come throught the rear bleeders. Need to go back through bleeding all four. The peddle is a little soft on the first break, you can release and reapply and they are firm. I am still using the stock master cylinder and will tackle the Z32 bmc swap when I have a dedicated day to attend to the install with adjusting the rod. This is my only mode of transportation and can't afford to have the car down for any time other than days off. So what do you think. The adj springs are perfect for a daily driven car, I may get out and run some local road course. Soon to come TURBO.
  21. I sent you an email let me know turn around time. I am probably 2 months away from needing the fuel rail.
  22. Great info, which one do you have. The 3000405 - Perf Street Sprung Disc looks like a good match for what is needed. Has 490lb pressure shouldnt be to heavy, they have another that is only 410 but I don't want to have to come back 3-6 months and update it once the turbo is dialed in.
  23. What is everyone running for Clutch and Pressure plate? What would be good for 200 to 250 hp turbo motor? How heavy is the clutch pedal feel?
  24. Well did some work over the weekend. Got the Z32 brake calipers painted and installed with new rotors. Turned out awesome. Brake pedal feels the same as stock. Here are some pics. First pics are the calipers complete. Second is the finished job. We are using Nissan Sentra Spec-V wheels. They are 17x8 wheels running 225/50 fronts. We have 245/45 on the rear. \ Stayed tuned for the master cylinder and coilovers. By the way i ordered coilovers from Cosmo, but ordered for a 1970-1974 240Z. And they do not fit. So I am having to send back to Cosmo and wait for the correct ones to arrive. My fault, and they look like good stuff. For what we want to do they will work fine.
  25. Changed directions going with turbo conversion stay tuned. Once I get the parts together I will start a new post with the progress. I have coilovers and brakes ready to go on. Just need a day off to do this. Going to Disney World today!
