  1. So this guy making $2400/mo can afford a lawyer? I don't think so, and for some junk that was not worth as much as the lawyer bill will be. So the answers to your first questions is No, he does not have a leg to stand on. More importantly, he can't afford the price of resolving this issue. He is threating you, but you are lucky. He shows a pattern of typical pot use which is lack of ambition/follow through. Leave him alone and he will continue to get stoned and forget about you. He will lose his job again and the tax payers will be supporting him again, like so many others.
  2. That can be seven months of planning and envisioning the out come. Deciding exactly what you want. But do not let your mind stray unless you are in a safe zone. Bring yourself and crew home safe, body and mind. Lots of time planning will save you time and money in the long run. No matter how long it takes to build, you will still get the same level of satisfaction when you get behind the wheel.
  3. I really like the air brush work "240Z", that is a perfect place for it to be. A nice 240Z, 40 years after their inception has to be built and shows passion, heritage, and taste. It should, and does deserve more attention than almost any modern car that you can walk into a dealer and purchase. A BMW 135 is no slouch performance wise for a stock car but anyone can buy one and there not sexy. Again, great car, done tastefully.
  4. Another person to check with is Steve Pettersen at Pettersen Motorworks. He was building a Roadster five speed yesterday 5-28-10 when I talked to him. If, Steve does not have the parts he may know where to locate them. 530-895-3606
  5. Your car looks great. I like what you did with the hood. I remember talking with you about the stripes that it use to have. I like this better. Quality work. The stacked exhaust in polished stainless steel is a nice touch. It has got to be fun having a rare car for your area. I bet you get lots of looks.

  16. Yep, Hagerty. With the documentation I presented and a few photos I emailed, Hagerty covered my car for the amount I wanted it covered for. Of course it has limitations.
  17. Looking bitchen, I am excited for you. It brings back memories. Exactly one year ago this weekend my 240Z was finished. It was put on a trailer and we did a midnight run the length of California to the MSA show. Enjoy the Ride.
  18. As you are at the very south end of Northern California, I do not know any Z specialist down there. But you are in luck because Chico is not that far away. Pettersen Motorworks is in Chico California, owned and operated by Steve Pettersen. He is a Early era S30 specialist. People bring their Z from all over to have him work on them especially if you only want to pay to have the repair done once. Give Steve a call, you won't be sorry for the extra distance you will travel to get to Chico. 530-895-3606
  19. Zoop Seal works fine on motor parts. It is a ceramic sealer, the box it comes in shows an HD motorcycle engine (air cooled, read "hot")on the cover. I do not remember the exact temp specks. If you look at my build thred (A 240Z by 310z) you will see all my under hood metals are coated in it except the header which is ceramic coated. Zoop Seal is online check it out.

  21. I have the Arizona Z, rear end hanger. It is a beautiful piece. I have had no problems. I used Zoop Seal on all of my aluminum and it keeps things shinny for up to 3 yr. per application. This is not a permanent solution but if you want to keep the bare metal look, it is the best thing going. In three years, clean the part and wipe the ceramic liquid on again. Allow to dry and lightly buff. You wont even know it is there.
  22. I tried to PM this to you but realized it had not been opened. With the new format navigation through the site is not as easy and self explanatory as the old format. Well, good luck. I have been looking for a 1973 240Z Tach for quit a while now. I have had two. They will work with an electronic ignition. It is the only year that is set up that way from the factory, the way I understand it. I have had two in my car since completion of my bare metal restoration April 2009, and they both do the same thing. They work when they want and mine is within 200 RPM of reality. However, when it is not working (about 50% of the time), the needle swings to the pin when starting the car and stays there but also decides to work at times. I watched eBay for a while and got tired of searching for now. My only other thought is to find someone who knows how to repair 37 year old instruments. Mine appears to be a short but the short is inside of the Tach. Most likely rust from the boat ride over to this country. I am assuming this is for Blakouts car. The car is worth the search but it may take a while to locate one. My builder only builds 240Z, they are his life and passion (Pettersen Motorworks Chico Calif 530-895-3606). He has the knowledge and in most cases the parts but even he only had two 73 tach's. You might give Steve a call, he might give up some information and possible some parts. Jim
  23. That is an awesome look. Too have an extremely limited, era correct style wheel is amazing even if it is a copy. Copying is the truest form of flattery and in 15x7 will make it a lot more useful. I have seen one other set that were made as direct copies of the originals in magnesium, no polished lip and were probably 5.5 inch wide like the originals "skinny". I don't think you will have to be concerned about seeing to many of those at a Z show. Did you have them made special for you? Or is someone producing them?
  24. 15 in. do look great on a Z and period correct. You will have no problem finding or fitting 7 in. wheels with 0 - off set. The biggest issue with 15 in. wheels is finding tires. Not that 15 in. tires are not made, they are. However, If you want a performance tire for the street, there are not many made in 15 in. without an R rating and a ware rating of 100 or less. So, you become very limited to what tires you will run. Check out the TireRack.com and you will see what I mean. I have 15x7 0 offset with 225-50-15 and they fit the stock set up fine. However, I don't run those wheels. I run 16x8 0 offset with 225-50-16 and the lips needed to be rolled or ground away on the rear. Also a non-stock front lower valence needed to be used when I went to the 16x8. Just some things to think about.
