Amazing shape, it looks as if it has never been driven, it needs to stay that way. Yes, stock Zs are boring to drive but the rarity of a car in that condition is really cool. I like your idea of having two, so you can modify one. Your daily driver looks simular to my Z.

Wow, if the rest of your car looks like that engine bay you have got your self a gem.

I have been out driving all summer and enjoying the car. The tunes are awsome while in the car. No rattles inside or out, even when it is cranked. I am surprized at the clairaty. Lots of sound deading.

Trying to make a Custom Spoiler (plz vote for best spoiler)
310z replied to logan1's topic in Body Kits & Paint
In my opinion, allowing the wind to shape the spoiler will result in the sexest look. As the sexest cars in the world are done that way. It appears that you are building an extremly sexy looking car. I love the front air dam. Most people do not have a wind tunnel available but sometimes the knowledge is available. To my limited knowledge the only wind tunnel tested spoilers on a Z were the BRE spoliers and your #4 looks close. An authentic BRE is very thin at the top edge and when looking down on a car from above the spoiler, there is an arc from edge to edge. I think you can see what I am talking about in this picture. -
Pic request: Zs with CF hoods and/or bumpers
310z replied to Mycarispurty's topic in Body Kits & Paint
Here are a few pictures. There are a lot more on my build page "The build of a 240Z by 310z" and on my photo album page. Hope the pictures help. Blue would look great. There is a picture on MSA's photo page of the 2009 West Coast Nationals that has a ? Viper blue color and CF car with Watanabis and flairs, it looks awsome. However to dark of a shade of blue might not show off the CF real well. Just something to think about. Look at lots of pictures prior to making a decision. -
I do not have a vidio/audio of the exaust but, I will work on that. I am bragging, but it does sound awsome, Borla makes good noise. The only motor that sounds better than an inline 6 is a V-12 or boxer 12.

All the pictures of the sub install that I have are posted. I will try to answer any questions you have or provide pictures of specifics that you request.

I looked at lots of pictures for years, many inspiring. Some with great ideas or new trends but I always knew what I wanted and stuck with that. The 240Z has great classic lines that will never grow old. My taste in cars has always been toward road racing cars, low, wide, and fat with a purpose. So, I built a street car with those atrabutes. The things that tend to make a car go fast, stop fast and handle, also usually are very eye appealing, at least to my eyes. Thanks for the coments and hope that the pictures continue to inspire others.

That is very clean. Beautiful engine bay. Simplicity can be best when done right.

The spaire tire well was used as the speaker encloiser. It was lined with sound deading material. Two 10 in. Polk/MOMO subs were placed in 3/4 MDF to be used as the lid. Then two 11 1/4 in. x 3 in. ports were installed and billet cut rings placed at the port openings. The lid was then screwed inplace with stainless steel screws.

I found more pictures while the metal work was being done. Battery tray was removed and painted seperatlly. Then it was Riv-Nutted back in place.

I have only seen one car that removed the drip rails. It was a beatiful orange car that was done to the highest levels. I first saw it at the Solvang Roadster Show 2009 were it had a copy of a magazine under the windshild wiper, it was on the cover. The next day the car was at the West Coast Z Nationals. It looked good. My only thought was that it changed the look from an older classic car to one of a more modern style. That can be good, if that is what you are looking for? Good luck.
