  1. I found out that three of the four cars are from the same owner, the Honda, Toyota, and Nissan.
  2. I just received my March subscription of Automobile magazine and there is a article (AT THE DAWN OF THE RISING SUN)that features four sports cars built in Japan. This last year at "The Quail An Automobile Experience" at Monterey I was lucky enough to get to tag along with the owner of the 432Z and GT2000 for the weekend. He may own the Honda and Mazda also but I am not sure about these two. Really neat to get the old cars in a mainstream magazine, especially the Z.
  3. Sounds very similar to a motor I installed in my boat. I used Scatt crank and 6 in. rods, Dart Iron eagle, Keith Black 9.7 pistons, cam sounds about the same although mine is a reverse turn motor and a worked marine Q-jet. STRONG motor. With aluminum heads I would love to have this motor in a car.
  4. Your Fairlady's are looking good. I do not remember ever seeing the 240Z motor compartment. It looks good.
  5. Ejkej, Nice cars, also nice photo work.
  6. yhlz, I have seen Thomas's two GTR s at Pettersen Motorworks in Chico CA. They are perfect. I knew he had a 432 but your photos are the first I have seen of it. Beautiful cars. Three S-20 in the United States at one show, quite a treat.
  7. Nice work, isn't it nice to have the old z's back on the road.
  8. Nice work, tastefully done. Like the center exit exhaust, air box, and door panels.
  9. It does sound good. We were actually going for quality sound not just volume.

  10. Awesome, that system must sound UUUuuhhhhmazing.

  11. Interesting. And the system works without hiccups (no distortion/headlight dimming/blinker slowing at lower RPM)?

  12. Hey there, I was curious about what alternator you were running in your car. You have a massive audio system, so I'm curious as to what's driving it.

  13. Well, you are right. There has been a decrease in the availably of 15 in. performance tires. When I was looking for wheels I checked tire availability in brands I would run. Well, that caused me to make a quick decision that 15 in. would not work for the long run (many years of purchasing tires). I purchased 16 in. and the availably is limited also. What I found is that a 215-60-15 had the best availability and looks the best as an old school look and they are available in the 15 in.
  14. The black ones are appropriate for a Z and a member here (azcarbum) has them from time to time. There is also a seller on eBay gira777 that frequently has hard to find Datsun parts (FairLady mirrors, factory head light covers)that he reliably sends to the USA. I got mirrors from gira777. If you consider what it cost to purchase a set of most factory original mirrors for any modern car then the price does not look so bad.
  15. I have not checked my in town mileage but I have checked my highway mileage. While driving to the Canby Car Show & Swap in Oregon USA last year up I-5 for 100s of miles, averaging 75 mph and many blasts beyond 100 mph with a 3.1 L and triple Weber 45s I averaged 24 mpg on more than one tank of gas 91 octane.
  16. Looking good drifter. You got the stance just right.
  17. Thanks, I agree, it does look appropriate there. However, the only plans I have for the car is to move the air filter out in front of the hot engine compartment to allow it to get cold air.

    Nice ride.
  19. Welcome to the site. I am sure there are a few good shops in the bay area. I met a guy that has a shop down there. I cant remember his name or the name of his shop, but he has a Z shop. I have seen his work and it is top notch. He drives a 240Z that is silver with an RB motor and three piece Pannasports. Very nice car. I do know that a lot of people from the Bay Area are bringing their Z to Chico to have Steve Pettersen of Pettersen MotorWorks repair and or do complete restorations. He can be reached a 530-895-3606

    432 CI's

I see what you mean. I know the car and it is an amazing car throughout. Maybe the next You Tube video can have the owner tell us the story so it is correct.
  21. Helmets have expiration dates and or build dates and supposedly they are only safe for 5 years from build date. So if that interests you then there are different models made to fit different shaped heads. I use off road moto helmets and tried on a Shoei and thought it was great. Then I tried on an Arai and it fit perfect and that is what I use. I have tried a Bell that also fit great but the face protection /chin gard is very close to your face. It is a personal preference.
  22. I have Toyota 4x4 four piston set up from MSA along with their rear disk conversion. I just put on a set of Porterfield R4-S all around. The part number for the front is AP 410 and the rear is AP 230/323. They have much better feel and initial bite than the stock Toyota pads in front and Nissan in rear.
