  1. No not at the shifter, but by mounting the trans lever facing up at the trans. I should have taken the fifth pic to show that, saw that question coming. You can see how it's mounted on the forth pic. When you do this P will be at 2:00 o clock and L1 at about 11:00 o clock. My trans is P,R,N,1,2,3 full manual valve body. Hope that helps. On the switches, I'll be working on them this week and try to post some pics.
  2. Almost forgot, the neutral safety and backup light switches will be mounted on the passenger side of the sifter like 280zcar has.
  3. I was also going to do what 280zcar did untill I foud a stock shifter. Nice job 280zcar. Glad to have helped Infidel.
  4. I hope the picture came out, please let me know if they did not. Thanks.
  5. Welcome, I am just finishing up what you are looking to do. It's not to hard. I'm using a 400 trans in nine. The trans lever should be pointing up on the trans to give more room for your big exhaust. You will need a steel rod from homedepot about three feet long (trim later). I needed a cheep dual carb link kit to use on the lower shifter lever. This will join the rod to the shifter. On the shifter you are going to take the retaining pin off of the shifter. Remove the lower lever and flip it to now face the driver side. Drill a new hole for the retaning pin, making sure that it has a tight fit to elinimate play. Now for the hard part. Istall the shifter. Attach the shifter rod to trans (I bent nine like a hood rod to link it to the trans lever). Run the shifter rod throu the shifter lever(carb link), put trans and shifter in park. Tighten adjusting screw on shift lever. Now go throw all the gears and with a marker mark all the points on the shifter gate that each gear falls on. P,R, N, shoud be close, in my case I had to make a half gate for 1,2,3, then weld it to the stock shifter. I will try to get some pics today. good luck.
  6. Its real simple guys: two (or four) more cylinders providing power during the 720 degrees of crank revolution needed to complete one Otto cycle. Friction losses from rings and cylinder walls are basically the same (a 4" bore 8 cylinder has 100.66" of cylinder wall/ring circumference and a 2.67" bore 12 cylinder has 100.53" of cylinder wall/ring circumference assuming same stroke - if we assume same bore then stroke is reduced which still gives equal friction due to stroke distance differences). What about the number of rings in a v12 vrs. a v8, how much friction loss can that have. I understand that up to twenty or more hp can be found in a v8 from one set of rings to another.
  7. That rear bumper looks good, new part on my wish list.
  8. B303 roller cam, headers, flowmasters, well tuned carb or fuel injection. Aftermarket heads will give it a deeper sound and the B303 cam will give it a mean chopy idel. Skip the cam and it still sounds good.
  9. Sweet project auxilary, your so close to finishing it just go for it. Hey Grim, did you notice how set back auxilary has that engine set back. Even if that motor is heavier than it looks imagine the weight distrabution. I know you woldn't consider a v8 but a stock ls1 with six speed is all aluminum can be had with 300 to 400 hp and gets up to 30 mpg. just a thoght.
  10. Hey Grim, I didn't find the weights you need, but it sounds that the turbo Wankel will deliver the power weight and mpg your looking for. Not to mention how easy they are to find. 350-400 hp is also somthing that can be eclipsed without much dificulty using a turbo Wankel and skyhigh rpm to boot.
  11. At first I didn't care for your design. After your last pics it started to grow on me. Now that you mentioned the zg flares, I can start to see something that will be quite interesting when done. I still have a problem with the flatness of the nose, and might like it more if it followed the line of the windshield at the hood line. Great work so far, keep up the good work.
  12. Grim, I'm with you 100%, torque = fun, power = fast, both = v8 with power adder.
  13. Thanks eec564, I checked and they rated them for 7"to 9" same minimum as the 235/60/15. The bfg's 235/60/15 are rated for 6"wheels. My car is only used for short drives to the local hangout and I'll use my trailer for track days, so I'm not to worried.
  14. They are 6" wide, I have two sets and will be using 255/60/15 MT drag radials on them. Might bulge out a bit, but I don't think It'll be to bad.
  15. Hi abes, that price seems ok if the work is of high quality. Some of the kits don't have the fit and finish that a good shop can provide. I paid 500 to do my factory seats and they look and feel better than new.
  16. miloZ, that header looks like it was made for the car. I'm positive that you'll be able to work something out with those masters. I think Wilwood makes some clutch & brake pedals that mount the masters under the dash. Converting to manual brakes will eliminate the booster and can help things look cleaner under the hood. Now I'm jealous, definetly should have kept my old set.
  17. Are they taking aplications in the US, or is the job taken.
  18. boby bates what did you have to change to make them work.
  19. I'm sorry, the headers I was speking of are fender well headers. Still, should have kept them.
  20. I just sold my 62-67 hooker supercomp headers. Maybe I should have cept them. With the jtr position, the only snag I saw without cutting into the battery aria and washer container aria, was the brake mastercylinder and booster in the way. I did not want to go throu relocation of these items. If I had used them, they would have exited behind the front wheels, making for the best headers to use for side pipes, going over the frame instead of under it. They also have more clearance for plug wires, are 1 3/4" longtubes with 3" collectors, and may have even provited more ground clearance than the other long tube heders used on the s30.
  21. Buy in a good location, I will pay for owning a mutifamily in a bad location for a long time. The more units the better. If you have a vacant unit the others will buffer the loss until you rent it. Sart saving now and pay your debt asap, even the mortgage.
  22. I don't know much about computers, but I use vista and have the same problem. Very annoying.
