  1. True. I wasn't comparing just stating being an M and Z owner it's just come natural to want to see an M (S5x) motor place into a S30. It's going to be fun to see....
  2. Just seen this thread. As an owner of both a "72" 240z and an "02" E46 M3, I'm really excited to see the outcome of this project. This Z is going to fast as *$#.... Cheers to your ongoing project. Can't wait to see/hear this MZ once the union is complete. Job well done so far. Godspeed the rest of the way.... **EDIT** removed the quotes....
  3. This does sound like the car Gollum bought....
  4. Buy it and don't look back. Great deal. I wonder what the VIN # is. Could be a low # car....
  5. Outstanding meatpop! Job well done....
  6. Congrats Gollum. It looks a good, and it has a lot of potential....
  7. Common sence = lacking....
  8. This is a standard BMW E63 6-series. Vert I believe. This was no M6 as was reported by other boards. This happened some time ago..... FWIW....
  9. Kind of a shortfall (if you want to call it that) for having a short shifter....
  10. On top of what others have stated, I would also check/change the hydraulic fluid if it has a manual gearbox. Sometimes the seals on the hydraulic master cylinder deteriorate and the fluid will leak out or contaminate the fluid, especially if it has sat for a long period time…. Good luck....
  11. This place is a gold mine for body panels, grills, and parts alone. It would be a shame if it any of these shells are crushed.....
  12. You could aways re-fabricate a new roof for it. I'm sure you're going to have a 12-18 point roll cage installed that would provide support as well, so it could work.....
  13. Hey JustinOlson, here are few Z's I have found on craigslist while browsing. You may or may not have seen some of these, but I thought I would give a heads up anyway. One looks to have a "ragtop". It looks pretty good, but if you are going for over 1000+ hp, I'm not sure it would be a good fit. It does come with a complete spare (supposedly running) 280z motor.... 1972 Datsun 240z (fi 280z motor w/ spare) - $1500 http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/car/573174959.html This one states it is a signature series. States it has 81k original miles too. Look like some rust on the bumpers, maybe more? Price seems steap for your needs, but if it is rust free could be a good find.... 1970 Datsun 240z signature series - $5500 http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/car/573123966.html Here is a "74" that states it has rust free sheet metal except for the roof and surface rust. Pretty cheap and is somewhat stripped down. Could be useful for what you are looking for?.... 74 260z part car - $300 http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/car/569994908.html Here is a "72" not much info, but states it runs and title in hand. Could be worth looking into.... 1972 datsun 240z - $2500 http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/car/570016493.html I hope at least one of these may help. There were a couple of others as well. One looked really good, but had a 8,800k tag too. Good luck.....
  14. Good luck with your prodject. It nice you have someone to help with the rust control and getting the car back on the right path.....
