  1. Is there anywhere to buy REAR frame rail sections. Thanks John
  2. z man your car is awesome how much power are you putting down to the wheels.
  3. Yeah Z's are a money pit, especially if you are in school. I try to make money by buying cars cheap and selling them for a profit to fund my project. What do you guys do.
  4. Brett i love those mirrors what kind of car did they come off of or did you order them from some place. John
  5. Congrats , it looks pretty good, by the way what size tires are you running with the zg's, do you know how wide the flares are. John
  6. Guy, did you get all your motor problems tied up. Plan on taking it to the track any time soon. Hope fully ill be done next summer, just in time thats when i get my license, im only 15 , but next summer ill be 16 any how i plan on going l28et, already have the donor--very hard to find in wisconsin, but the easiest swap. And for the suspension shoxs.com is the best place to go they have cheaper prices than msa and victoria british, so i plan on tokico 5 way adjustable and springs, st sway bar kit and the energy sus. master bushing kit, then some odds and ends shorter steering knuckles, bump steer spacers things like that. What do ya think. Best regards and good luck John
  7. you could spray it with rubberized undercoating.---not the best, but cheap
  8. Congrats on getting it done, hope fully we can have a z car club of wisconsin. Hope I will be done soon, ran into probs with the l28et, when those are rapped up i will drop her in the z.
  9. Ive seen some footage of an modded audi s4 out run the po po. Seemed like after 150 they stopped chasing him though.
  10. Will a 15 inch rim fit, i wanna run these on track days and 17's on the street. Do the 15's have enough clearance. And at sometime maybe even run 14's in bad weather--i doubt it. Also any body using bump stop spacers, in motorsport it says 15inch and up what happens if you run 14's. Thanks John
  11. Searched but couldnt find what i was looking for. So, I was wondering how much you guys have in the setup with the calipers and rotors and which are the best to go with. And I know the kits are high quality, but ar they well worth it in the end. Thanks John
  12. That thing sounds pretty mean. Man i cant wait to get the swap done. I bet you terrorize the local hondas with that.
  13. Kind of hard to explain, its almost like an hesitation, or stumble when idleing.
  14. Yeah i also want to see some z with zxt motor footage. Once the turbo bug bites you just cant stop thinking about what it will be like. Cant wait to get mine done, gonna be starting on the swap in the next couple of days. Just need to pinpoint a few probs with the zx wiring harness then she goes into the z, cant wait. I plan on running an saab ic-- all i can afford at the moment, hallman es mbc, three inch exhaust with dyno max ultra flow straight through, cone intake, a hks ssqv, and hopefully i can find a shaved intake manifold, custom downpipe, and a jsk innovations fuel rail. When i get the motor droped in and running right.
  15. Some of the supra race cars like the denso sard supras some time run v8s. I think i heard this on best motoring.
  16. Forgot to congratulate you on your success. Hopefully I will be there soon. John
  17. Does anybody know what siz the autometer boost gauge, speedo, and tach are, and if they fit in the stock 280z dash without modification, and if you do need to modify how much is there to do. I tried a search but couldn't find what i was look for. Thanks, John
  18. The manual trans zxt didnt have oilcoolers. If this is true how much boost can you run. Mike i'm stuck the same place as you. And I also do not know much about fuel management. I'm thinking about going with an sds once the l28et is in, is that a good idea. Things i know you need for the swapAFM ECU injector leads distributor knock sensor-can be left out, ive found that when they get old they get problematic head temp sensor o2-car will run without one, but mpg will be crappy and if other sensors arent workign right with this, youwill foul plug after plug tps the fusible links to ignition and efi good grounds to harness efi relays one is green and one is tan, Would be even more lost if it werent for len, he knows alot about the swap. Any more info on the efi would be helpful. Thanks to all, John
  19. Scott do you have the saab ic with the metal end tanks or plastic ones. Also how many pounds of boost are you running on it and do you know the pressure drop. John
  20. Len was it with the 75 turbo or the z32tt. Cant wait to get my 76 done. John
  21. I have driven the g35 with an automatic but the power delivery was very smooth and linear. It felt like you were'nt even moving, but you were flying at the same time I loved it. I would love to through that motor in a z, too bad i dont have the money. Someone will do it eventually and it will make for one nice z.
  22. Does anyone know which saab 900 comes with the intercooler with the metal end takes. I have one from a 88, but it has plastic end tanks. Can someone help me out here. John
