I've got a stock turbo downpipe, though I have no idea what they are worth. Make me an offer. Greg

Will swastika rims clear these brakes?

Thanks for the heads up, good to know! Greg -
I put on my Lonewolf intake, and 90mm TB

Thanks Phil. Was hoping you knew the specs and what had been done to your setup. I guess I'll just have to spec my build from scratch so I have an engine with good balance and power. Tony D if you can convince your friend to get a bigger turbo, I've got a T3/T04 that I was considering selling. It was rebuilt and has an O trim and a .82 hot side. Also has a V band. I don't know much more about it than that right now. If interested, then PM me. greg -
If we get snow here in the valley I'll just drive my Audi Quattro.....no worries with that. The Z sux in the snow and ice anyway. I haven't been driving it lately because I have 3 brake lights out, the heater fan out, and the blinkers out......not sure what happened but they all went at once. No money for insurance at the end of the month though so the Z will be down for awhile, at least until I get a job again.......Anyone hiring? Greg

Hagerty Z car buying guide...just got here today

Not all of them had the large bumpers though. Greg -
Another reason for the prop planes over Vietnam is their loiter time......the prop planes usually could stay on station for hours longer than the jets because they are more efficient in those low and slow conditions than jets are. The limit on the A1 Skyraider's range was actually how much oil it could carry....not how much fuel it could carry. Those big radial engines go through a LOT of oil....... Greg

Can you document and report what kind of work they are doing to the head? Pics too? Also, which cam is Chris using? I'd like to get one too. Chris's car is my benchmark for performance, and yours is for color. Greg -
I did the Modern Motorsports rear disc conversion and the stock 14's wouldn't fit anymore, just like you found. I ended up going with a set of turbo Swastikas 15 x 6 which work just fine. I actually have a second set of these for sale. They look better than the ones on my car, but two of the rims are bent. You could have them straightened and you'd be in business. I will ship them too. I'm in Oregon. If you're interested, then PM me. Greg

Phil, Love the color man! Btw, did you do anything special under the car to get your exhaust to come out at an angle like that? Greg

Throttle cable setup - Lockar & custom bracket
Soundmasterg replied to Savage42's topic in Drivetrain
Gary, I've got the tall one on my car with the complete setup, and I have a short setup that I got from a parts car. I don't have the actual bracket mounting part on the car for the short one....just the pivot part that fits onto the bracket and pin. If you had another car to compare to locally, then you may be able to compare that with mine? I need to go to Salem soon with my car and we could arrange to meet up if you needed to see it? Greg -
Hey Rob, I've got a T3/T04 that I got at the Canby show that I'd be willing to sell. I sent you a PM about it. Greg

Throttle cable setup - Lockar & custom bracket
Soundmasterg replied to Savage42's topic in Drivetrain
I believe they changed sometime in 1972 Gary, as mine is around 6/72 and has the taller one and I've seen others from '72 with the shorter one. I might be interested in a bracket. I know it would mean changing some things on my car to make it work, but thats not a biggie. Greg -
Thanks for uploading the CNC Derek. BTW is your car a 240? Greg
-
Isn't that the turbo from Ron's 510? Greg
-
I thought about using fiberglass too, but I don't know anything about it and will have to learn. Derek, I'd be interested in the CNC for that. I can find someone who could do it locally I'm sure. greg

You should be able to get a timing chain kit, which will come with the guides. If you're going to go to the work to replace the guides, you may as well do the chain and what not too. I got a kit from a friend of mine who runs a VW shop, but he ordered it up from one of the wholesale suppliers....I forget the name but can find out for you if you want. Any parts store should be able to order the kit if the guy at the desk tries to do it and isn't too lazy. Greg

That is VERY cool! If you were going to make and sell the adaptors to go from the stock to a BMW 5 series two input thing, I'd be all over that if it didn't cost too much! I was thinking of doing something similar with the vents but couldn't figure out an easy way to make up an adaptor...... greg

Hey Aaron, If you haven't yet, get the ZTherapy video or DVD. It has TONS of useful info in there about the SU's. Lots of cool little tricks too. I'd let you borrow mine to watch except i can't find them. I loaned them to Roger Wayland and after he gave them back I put them somewhere that I can't remember. Anyway, the vids will show you how to rebuild them, and provide you with a ton of tricks and info. Greg

Can't afford a to pay a ticket in full, what do I do?

In Oregon you can almost never count on the officer not showing up, because they make sure to schedule things to where he is in court all day for multiple cases. They really want their money here...... Greg
