  4. scca, I agree with Alsil about going with cast iron heads, the weight savings is a non issue in my opinion. If your interested in low cost CNC ported iron heads checkout PowerHeads @ www.powerheads.com/ you can get a complete pair of CNC ported heads for as little as $635! 5. Well I don't know what to say, but after much research, I think I'm being drawn to the "Darkside" as my brother-in-law (a dyed in the wool Ford man) would say. This is difficult having been a GM man all my life. Is this a place I can find help? With that said what type of 302 and year mustang should I be looking for? GT-40? Cobra? GT? I do want EFI! Any and all comments will be deeply appreicated. Z-Dreamer aka "Turncoat" ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? "
  6. Fast Frog, I love the smooth shifts of the T5! Nothing comes close! So if you want to keep using a T5, checkout: The Gearzone at www.gearzone.net/ There is a ralley clutchless design that handles 450 FT torque. ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? 7. WoW, I see I struck some opinons,(hehe). From what I've gathered from reading everything on their site, is that their blowers not only provide the low-end grunt of a typical "Roots/Lobe" type blower, but, also high rpm efficiency due to the twin screw design. This would seem to be a great benefit to those running smaller displacement engines. And since most folks on this site seem to be interested in quickness (stop lite to stop lite) the whipple seems a viable option. I did see that an intercooler can be had( it is incorporated inside the blower intake manafold) perhaps this is where they get the efficiency claim? 8. Considering forced induction? Check out the blowers at www.whipplesuperchargers.com They claim that their's are the most efficent on the market! Mark ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? "
  9. I have access to a Chevy Twin Dual cam 60' V6 real cheap,if I want it. 215 HP stock and it will rev sky high! Admittedly it needs a rebuild, now if only I can figure a way to bolt a WCT5 to it? Any sugguestions? Mark ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? "
  10. I have a Heidt's catalog and it is FULL of Tech on the MII. Lots of info on camber and caster, toe angle and anti-dive, also a very inpressive offering of goodies. Order one, it's FREE! 800-841-8188 ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? "
  11. Someone posted this before, can't remember who?, anyway this system uses the Ford 8.8 and both upper and lower A arms! No more half shaft acting as a control arm. www.ryanemotorsports.com/unvapp.htm Mark ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? 15. It must be a typo! The hp numbers are all the same whether it's N/A , low boost or High boost. P.S. I looked at the Brodix web site and I didn't see anything about Chevy V6 heads? Mark ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? "

  17. Would it be possible to relocate the rear strut towers inboard of the present location so the struts themselves would be pointing towards the center of the car and not towards the outside as they are now? Has anyone done or tried this? If it could be done, it would allow the use of really wide tires/wheels. Mark ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? " [This message has been edited by Z-Dreamer (edited December 13, 2000).]
  18. In the October issue of Carcraft, there is an article on how to build a 351 Windsor long block that makes 405hp at 5800 RPM and 391 lb-ft of torque at 4500 RPM for, get this, $2500 And thats with CNC ported stock heads! Sounds tempting! Mark ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? "
  19. I've been following this guy's site for some time and it's impressive what he's done! I'm seeing this as a real alternative for those who are looking for a lite-weight but powerful hybrid Z! www.s-series.org/htm/firestorm/firestorm.htm Mark ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? 20. I was referring to the front diff. It's an independent front suspension and yes I'm interested in using the "Innards" (third member,LSD, gears). If it can be done, then the question is, is it worth it? I did notice that the stub axles look bigger and it has CV joints. Thanks for the quick responses, keep'em coming Mark ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? " [This message has been edited by Z-Dreamer (edited December 08, 2000).]
  21. As per a previous post, how much power/torque do you think a R180 IRS can take safely? I purchased a 86 Nissan 4x4 pickup and have discovered that it has a R180 LSD with 4.? gears in the front diff! It would be nice to run this my Z if possible. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Mark ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? " [This message has been edited by Z-Dreamer (edited December 08, 2000).]
  22. My 72 has a R180 and I was wondering what breaks and is there any way to strenghten a R180? How much power/Torque can a R180 handle? I ask because I just purchased a 86 Nissan king Cab 4x4 P/K for $500! It runs great and the body is straight and after purchasing a Haynes Manual and examining the front Diff, I've discovered that mine has a LSD R180 with 4.10 gears! It would be great if I could switch the third members with my Z. Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Mark ------------------ " Now where did I set my beer? "
