  1. dang its been few long nights of me making out with my baby (z that is but i woudnt call it baby at this time ) finally got all wiring mess figured out (turbo swap in 77z) and also installed msd 6a box to go with ss blaster coil and difference in spark is just amaizing it must be at least two or three times stronger. make long story short. now i have spark (finally) and motor turns over just fine but it wont crank just keeps spinning over. it has spark and fuel (yeah i actually remembared to put gas in it afther i drained old one) so what else should i check out. tomorow is my day off so i have plenty of time to work on it i just need to know what all to look at and which way to test it (for example how to test injectors and fuel regulator....) any idea is more than welcome as usual so just throw them at me.   2. Mike why dont you just get fuel cell and do some ss lines with an fitting. that would for sure make it look nice and you wouldnt have to worry about upgrading it later on. Ivan
  3. update hooked up power transistor to coil everything went fine second time (first time fusible link paid the price but i stole one from jtaylors orange z i just hope that he dont notice that lol). so here is good and kinda confusing news. first of all i said that there were four wires on transisor. so here we go. first i hooked up black and white wire to coil (positive) then hooked up blue wire (negative) to coil. so far so good. next i matched same wires from tranistor to coil (they were same color so that was easy). afther that i took yellow wire and hooked it up to transisor and finally there is one more wire left on transistor but i am preatty sure that is for tach signal (black wire). now i have few questions. first of all when i turned key on (2/3 of the way) i took test light to make sure that coil was getting power and positive said was lighting up (obiously getting power) and then i tested negative side of coil and it was also getting power so i guess its making full circuit is that right? should they both be getting power when the key is on positive and negative side? now second question. when i turn key 2/3 of the way coil wire comes to life (starts throwing sparks=good news) but should it start throwing sparks when the key is only 2/3 of the way on or should it start doing it when the key is all the way on (when you turn the key all the way to start car). i know that this dont make too much sense but you guys have already hepled me more than i can ever thank you for and if this dont make too much sense just ask specificly and i can get probably jtaylor to explain it better than i can (sucks when english is my second language).   5. this crap is so frustrating. ok today i got turbo power transistor (actually i borowed it) and i also bought msd ss blaster coil. so this is what i need. i know how to hook up ss coil (just power and ground very simple) but how do i hook turbo power transistor to 77z wiring harness i mean which wire goes where all i know that it has four wires in it (two in two out) but where do i hook those wires up. i am just trying to get my car ready for SEZS 2 and this is slowing me down big time with work and gym taking all my time i have to drive almost 25 min in one direction to work on my z and its all getting to me but i be damn if i give up (ok i had to let it out) so if anybody know what the heck i am talking about any info would help for sure.   6. jeffp yeah i guess what i meant was power transistor (is goes right by coil and i belive it has two or four wires conected to it). i am going to get one of them tomorow and see what that does i just hope that it cranks up one of these days its just been while since i drowe it and its killing me. guys thanks alot for such a quick replys will see how it works out when i get of work tomorow just keep your fingers crossed for me on this one.   7. tonight i went to crank my car for the first time with turbo swap so i have good news and bad news. good news motor actually turned over without and weiard noises (well for now) and the bad news is that i am not getting any spark from my coil (stock coil out of 77z). i have swaped all electronics from turbo car except turbo power resistor (i know that problem is somewhere around coil wires) so now i am wondering if i need to swap turbo power resistor too. please bare with me i am doing this for the first time and i am not good at all at it. i appriciate any help.   8. man just weld them doors (aka dukes of hazard style lol) buy small trailor put hitch on back of your z and there you go just throw kids in there and there you go you get to keep kids and your z (j/k) lol

  10. i have 77 280z and my turbo motor is about to be running any day (that is if it fires up ) i am going to run stock boost or about 6-8 psi. i am just wondering if stock pump can support forced induction or how much hp is stock pump good for?
  11. i think that in new sports compact or super street mag they have few pages with nothing but modified 350z and two of them had turbo kits made by hks and greedy (greddy yeah its one of those lol).
  12. i was just wondering if all rear brake calipers are same on 280zx from 79-83. reason why i am asking is because i am redoing my rear brakes (from drums to disks) and i already have calipers but not sure what year they came off (i know that they came of 280zx for sure).

  15. i just got pair of new 4 piston callipers of toyota truck(for 77z) and i am using 300zx rotors so my question is which brake line am i gonna use that is gonna fit those callipers. btw i already have ss lines but havent had chance to see if they are gonna fit toyota callipers.

  17. i never liked green but that british racing green is just out of this world. if i had two z's one of them would be that color but since i have only one i am going with house of color orange.
  18. ok here it is. rotors have just been turned today, calipers are pushed all the way in and i mean all the way, cap is already taken off and there is no any fluid in the lines yet.
  19. i just got done with my front five lug conversion (77 280z) using z31 hubs and scca mikes spacers and everything came out just perfect but when i went to put my calipers on (stock ones with new pads) they wouldnt fit on. i know that z31 rotors are thicker (because they are wented) so what do i have to do now? should i just go and get toyota four piston calipers or is there way to trim down my pads (stock ones). also what year did those four pistons caliper come off (i need exact years) and how much am i looking to spend on remanufactured ones. any help would help alot.
