  4. I've been playing around with this since this thread was started. I think you guys are thinking about the wrong axis that the valve is being titled on. Tilting the valve from top of the stem of the intake to the center of the bore showed and average of 16cfm increase when compared to other ports I've modeled. For every 1 deg of title we gain about 2mm of extra valve de shrouding, so a stock L28 86mm bore would have similar valve shrouding as a 90mm bore would. Drawbacks are that anything larger then stock valves might not work because they might hit on overlap. I would need a cam profile to see overlap and check the distance between the valves. As for the debate of raising the port or angling the valve I would leave the valve were it is and raise the port. Titling the valve changed the fluids chamber entry to the point it was hurting flow. The valve would need to be titled and then shifted back to gain any flow assuming you are rotating the valve about the top of the stem to limit changes to the cam and rocker geometry. This may still prove to not be worth any gains I've yet to model any rocker arm geometry to see what happens to the rest of the valve train when tilting of the valve. Does anyone have any thoughts or further suggestions on valve tilting? tbs
  5. Why not just use the KA24DE 5 speed tranny? If you can't find one for the KA get one for the non turbo 300zx FS5W71C and I can sell you the KA bellhousing that was left over from my KA Transmission. tbs
  6. Crank Angle Sensor on the 81zxt it located near the crank on the side with the AC compressor. I prefer the 82-83 style that is inside the distributor. You should download the Factory Service Manual. tbs
  7. yes you can do the swap in the car, I removed the rockers and unhooked the timing and then removed the cam keeping the cam towers in place. You'll need to make the timing tool to hold the chain in place, in my experence I needed to unhook the transmission crossmember to tilt the motor back so the cam would clear the core support. tbs
  8. I think you should swap ecu's to an 84-89 300zxt not because of the tranny being used but because 84 and up you can convert to a MAS to get rid of the nasty AFM. tbs
  9. Did you check the CAS? Try swaping it out its hard to point the finger at the CAS if the car is starting but my studder was the CAS in mine. tbs
  10. I thought if you wanted to make it a BOV you need to plug the hole under the gasket with a set screw as well. I wouldn't crush it untill you need to crush it to hold more boost. Mine is crushed and it still reacts very well. I see you're also using the DSM intake, where is the stock dsm bov hose? I'm using the stock hose on my custom intake pipe just fine. tbs
  11. the distributor will only go on one way, the fastest way to do it is pull the cap off and just rotate it untill it drops on. But if your motor is on TDC please double check your oil pump/distributor shaft timing it looks like its one tooth off. If you PM me your phone number I'll walk you thought it over the phone. tbs
  12. I know on the 82-89 ecu if the injectors fire then the cas is sending a signal. I had an 81 system in mine stock but I never ran it I tore it out and swaped in an 84 30zx turbo ecu and now I'm running an 88 turbo with nistune. tbs
  13. Go download the FSM and read it, everything you need to know is in there. The S130 is not to difficult to take apart the first time I took mine apart was when I was 17. Its on xenonxiii web site. By the way I might now of a 82 turbo auto parts car about 3 hrs away from you that might be for sale. tbs
  14. I use a set of turbo eclipse injectors in a JSK O-ring fuel rail on my 280zxt but I'm able to adjust my ecu form them tbs
  15. Thanks for the input guys I've been meaning to get different rims for a while but being in college right now I don't have that kind of cash. I'm only getting two new tires because a bad alignment had trashed the front two tires so I figured a little more meat and I would move them to the rears. I think I'm going to go with a 215 60 14 Drag Radial since this would be the most cost effective way to increase grip based on my current budget. tbs
  16. I agree with trippintl0. If it was in my area I would get it but then again I have a place to store it. tbs
  17. What is the max rear tire I can fit on then non turbo 14x6 rim? I'm looking to put on a 225 60 14 but I need to know if it will rub. tbs
  18. blackdragon auto used to sell it a few years back. I want to say west wings was the manufacture of it then. tbs
  19. SHO-Z I've selected laminer flow in all of the tests I've done. Monzter email sent I'll let you share the info with everyone. tbs
  20. hughdogz Cosmos can do turbulent flow but you need to define the flow so I've selected laminar flow because I fell that the flow entering the intake is mostly laminar from the intercooler pipes. I'll be finishing the flow results tonight for Monzter. tbs
  21. Guys I just moved down to Dayton to continue on with my College at Wright State and I was looking for some local members to hang with. tbs
