  1. Keep in mind the rear curvature of the Z versus the straight tailgate. It might be more trouble than it's worth.
  2. I would offer you my doors but I am in Florida. Let me know when you get pricing and doors. J.
  3. First of all, I need to know what kind of pricing we are talking about. Second, I know the 240 and early 260 doors are the same. As far as I know, the only difference on the 280 doors is the striker.
  4. I have started a custom rear and I will be rolling the quarters in with it.
  5. By any chance will you be making any whole doors in fiberglass or carbon fiber?
  6. That's not a fake bead lock, it's a fake multipiece wheel. A bead lock is a seperate piece of metal that is bolted to the outside of the lip to keep the tire from coming off the bead. Multipiece wheels are just that, wheels made up of 2 to 3 different parts (center, + 1 or 2 piece barrel), that is where the bolts come in to play.
  7. I made the mistake of fabricating and welding my seat brackets prior to buying my seats. I had to cut my brackets out and weld in new ones. If I had to do it again I would have waited.
  8. If you want to keep a rear swaybar I suggest upgrading. My Suspension Techniques rear swaybar relocates it to run behind the diff.
  9. You can see my progress at classiczcars.com under jtl260z
  10. It wasn't that bad...I got enough to do my rear hatch and quarters for less than $150.00
  11. You can buy lexan with a anti scratch coating (I believe its called MR10). I bought some to do my quarter windows and rear hatch glass. It's good stuff and doesn't scratch easily (I tested a leftover piece with some sandpaper). There is a company (don't remember the name) that makes preformed windshields (for race use only) and they have the coating as an option.
  12. I will try to see if I have any old Black Dragon catalogs laying around. I have found that their catalog has more stuff than what they list online.
  13. That is why I bought them...I figured, out $40 is much better than $100+. I took a look in their on-line catalog and couldn't find them either. I guess they stopped selling them.
  14. I got mine from Black Dragon a couple of years ago. They were something like $20.00 a piece.
  15. It depends on the offset of the wheels you are ordering. If you are set on the wheels, you can either order the wheels and do some measuring (easiest way) or you can figure out what spacer you need based on new wheel width and offset versus old wheel width and offset. There are a few websites out there that will help you. Do a Google search under offset calculator.
  16. I had my first car (1979 MG Midget) painted a very bright yellow. You are correct about attracting bugs. Here in Florida, the spiders LOVE yellow cars (so do the cops). I was originally going to paint my Z yellow, but decided against it after I have seen a few around town. I just can't bring myself to have a "not so common" car that is that same color as some other local guys.
  17. I don't really drive my car as much as I would like. She is more of a weekend street/track car. If I do get caught in the rain, I will either use the fresh air intakes or get wet.
  18. After a quick attempt at filling in the rear I decided to cut and replace.
  19. I have found that if you make friends with the guys that run those used tire shops you can usually pick up those "throw out" tires at a very low price. I started out buying tires from a used tire place and just explained what I was using them for. Eventually I was getting tires for 10-15 dollars a piece.
  20. Aluminum would be the way to go. It's light, strong and not too expensive. I would go with either .063 or .08 thick 5052. http://www.onlinemetals.com/alloycat.cfm?alloy=5052
