  1. I work for a Porsche dealer and you are correct, the gauges are off by a little at higher speeds. I don't remember the exact amount but the percentage of inaccuracy increases the faster you go.
  2. I have been running a Spec 4 puck for a little over a year and I love it. Spec makes a great clutch! They have been building clutches for all sorts of uses for a very long time. Check out their web site; http://www.specclutch.com/.
  3. I got the 8 point installed and modified. I will be painting it soon and I will post some pics then. PrOxLaMus is right, it does need a lot of work to fit, but I was planning a custom set up from the start.
  4. llumar makes a great film that won't turn purple.
  5. 12.5 to 14.5 is normal. When your car is off and your battery is fully charged it should read between 12.5 to 13 volts. Double check your voltage at the battery, if it still seems high, check your fusable links and if that's not it you might need to adjust or replace your voltage regulator.
  6. I had the same exact thing happen to me. I checked all the hydraulics, noticed some minor leaking. I change both master and slave...cured nothing. I dropped the tranny and found out that the friction material on the pressure plate side of the clutch disc (centerforce dual friction) was completely gone. I proceeded to buy a new Spec 4 puck race clutch and everything is peachy.
  7. You can safely run a filter on both...I've been doing it for 10+ years and still running strong.
  8. My swap was done years ago. I eliminated all the extra vacuum operated parts (minus the dist. and booster). I only use the feed and return lines on the fuel rail. It should be a straight forward swap.
  9. depending on the manufacturer, hyper black and gunmetal are usually very close if not identical.
  10. technically, without projectors, you can run into some legal issues (DOT). I did my conversion about 5 years ago using a tri-bar headlight with a center "bulb cover" simular to the pic.
  11. Nice job so far. Any idea what brand your wheels are?
  12. I've used a coat hanger with good results.
  13. I leave it, the toilet takes it. It's a team effort.
  14. x would be the abreviated version of chris (like chris cross)
  15. I think "turn off the light" derived from "turn down the light" which was used back in the days of oil lamps.
  16. The idea is solid. The only foreseen issue would be ground clearance.
  17. I hit 155-160 MPH on my Autometer speedo with a 4.11 and a 5 speed. The needle was bouncing a little due to the road conditions. 1974 260z, highly modified with stock L6 bottom end.
  18. Try Tokico. They make a good spring for the late 260z's and 280z's (same springs).
  19. I've got some fiberglass fenders on my 260z that resemble those. Check out http://reactionresearch.com/ Under "subtle z". The pictures do not do this car justice.
  20. I've got my 260z down below the 2000 lbs mark with a roll cage...but of course it is an s30.
  21. Reaction Research bought the molds from AZC. John, over there, has actually made some doors with integrated door panels (very cool looking). You will have to email him for pics. Info@ReactionResearch.com http://reactionresearch.com/
  22. Davy, I don't know what issues you have had with showcars but I bought a hood from them with no issues. Granted my purchase was a few years ago... Please inform me of any issues I need to be aware of. Thanks.
