  1. How far along are you already? I haven't heard much about Sam Houston, but UH ain't too bad! Im studying for ME, should be done in 3-4 sem. The worst thing (besides the $$$) is the traffic, especially if you're going in the morning or around 4-6pm... but what else is new...
  2. Can I ask why didn't Nissan remove the balast for the L28ET?? I could understand its placement in a stock L24/L26, but L28ET?? They must have had a good reason to leave it there? or no?
  3. My budget is very limited (going to college) so no pre-fabricated stuff or paying someone else to do the work. Also I really want to learn how to do it all too. I absolutely LOVE the grey/black scheme in all three cars. I think I will do something very similar. Either way it will be improvement so I really cant go wrong. A big Thank-You to everyone who posted!
  4. Guys Im redoing my interior and was looking for some good ideas, etc. How do you think a 'hybrid' black-grey interior combo would look? Anyone try it?? Can you please post some pics? Im thinking stock black diamond transmition vinyl, 280z black plastic A pillar covers, either stock black headliner or grey carpet headliner, grey carpet everywhere else, black dash carpet cover, black GT grant steering wheel, stock black interior plastic pieces. Should I just stick with black everywhere or go with grey in some areas?? I've a huge roll of grey A+ quality carpet already but if the combo looks bad I'll go buy black. Pics would help greatly. Also, another question: how would you go about fixing that little chrome strip on the door panel? Please post any pictures, advice or ideas.. I'll post my progress pics here too. Here's what I faced after I took all the old crap out: After dynomating the firewall and putting the dash in: Today I ended up basicly rewiring THE WHOLE CAR, lol. Talk about the "while I'm at it." Worked from 11 am to 1 am and now EVERYTHING FINALLY WORKS. I have switches for wiper and turn signals (one for each side lol). I gave up trying to use the factory combination switches.. (BTW that piece of insulation is just laying there) More progress pics coming.
  5. Have you considered getting an engineering degree instead?? Just something to consider. But I think finishing school (with good grades), is a good idea. I mean you got this far, there's not that much left, right? Finish it, get that degree and move on. I see people at 25, at 30, at 35 try and go back to school. Most of them can't do it. Theres a right time for everything I guess. BTW, I'm finishing my 4th semester @ UH, for Mechanical Engineering. It's one hell of a roller coaster.. but I love it!

  7. I'd do exactly what you said, or at least measure how much voltage the coil's getting when ignition is ON. Very strange.. edit: I see you already did that..

  9. Guys, I'm looking for your advice and constructive criticism. Do you think there's a demand for a polishing service and would it be an OK way to make some extra money? (i.e. is there demand?) Here are some pics of my recent work.. Me and a friend are doing this sort of stuff, but always selling on ebay, and it's very rarely Datsun parts. These rims were done just because I had wayyy to many sets of six spokes. What about a professional quality, quick turnaround polishing service for Datsun parts? Valve covers, intakes, brackets, pulleys, whatever you got that can be done! Do you think it'd be a waste of time and effort with this crowd? (seeing how all of us like to build/make stuff ourselfs and not have someone else do it for us?) We're selling Porsche stuff on ebay right now and it's allright money, nothing great but not too bad either. Still, a picture of a Porsche enthusiast doing this kind of work makes me lol so I'd guess there's going to be less demand inside the Datsun crowd? Am I wrong? Please give me your ideas about this.. ANY kind of input would be GREATLY appreaciated!

  14. Nah, they're junk just like the regular Nissan OHC ones... Plus the turbo one looks easier to "shave." Thanks for all the suggestions!

  17. What do you think would be the best tool/s to use and take off all the writing of a Turbo L6 valve cover? I want a complete smooooth polished look. I have like 6-7 valve covers so messing one up isn't a big deal at all. Any recomendations??? Thanks.
